1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Buying your second BJD

May 4, 2009

    1. Well I bought my first one and then about four months after that I got a body for a floating head taht was given to me by friend as a present she didn't want it as it didn't go with any of her characters and it was perfect for my character so four months and I just bought a thried though Iwasn't planning right away but she was and LE from last year and was going to go away I feared. SO yup I think really its up to the person.

    2. I've had Cleo a few weeks (PukiPuki) and I already know that she needs a sister!! So I have decided I will be ordering a Pong but it won't be until June/July time.

    3. just only a few days after order 1st doll... lol

and waitting watting... so second doll come to my home before first doll >_<!

      ^^

    4. When did you decide it was time to buy your second BJD?

I just got my boy in this past month, and already I am surfing the webs for another doll.

What made you want another one?

I really like my boy and would love to buy a girl now...so I can have a girl and boy :3

Did you wait any length of time before hitting the buy button after you got your first doll?

I haven't purchased her yet but I know I am getting the Yage DZ girl. I am just waiting for the money to come in because she is going to be a present from my parents :D

Did you feel bad for the first one you got, and started regretting the purchase?

I don't think I will feel bad at all. I can think of so many cute pictures I want to take of the two of them. I also have like little personalities for the two of them and am super excited!

GL with your future purchase XD you will have loads of fun!

    5. Its a personal opinion. Like buying a second of anything. If you want it, can afford it, and are going to use it you should.

    6. Like others, I wanted a second BJD soon after getting my first one. The problem was it was a much harder decision choosing *what* to get, as I had done a lot or research inbetween ordering and receiving my first BJD and had fallen in love with so many new dolls from various companies!

I do like to wait at least six months to a year before bringing a new one into the house. My pocket book likes that better and I like giving the doll bonding time.

As for my first doll, I still adore her as much as when I ordered her.

    7. I wanted to have a second doll almost right after ordering the first, even before I actually received him. I didn't had much problem with deciding what doll it should be, it was just one of those I considered buying as my first ^^'. I ordered him about a month after I've got the first...

    8. my first one took so long to get here that I'd actually ordered the second one before it even arrived! That being said, it was still awhile after I'd ordered the first, but I'd been perusing company sites since and found another one I loved before I even welcomed one into my home.

    9. *smiles warmly* My second BJD was the first BJD I wanted--my original "dream doll." <3 Initially, she was the only doll I intended to buy, but when I saw Allura (an Everpurple Ryun from the initial release x3) I both fell in love and started getting impatient...
After that, it took me about a year to save up enough for Elodae (I didn't have a job at the time x3).. When I ordered her, it took some time for her to arrive, as well. I was very excited to order her though, and I still adore both my girls very much! <3

    10. i didn't wait long after getting my first to start working on my second. i bought a MSD for my first but i always REALLY wanted a SD. I started working on hybrids but not having much direction in what I wanted I ended up with a lot of dolls that didn't fit well with each other. i've begun selling off my hybrids and building a collection of dolls that suit me better. In reality i guess it took me about a year to really buy my second doll. my first was a DIM Marianne, second a mecha angel Corvi. almost immediatly after buying my Corvi i bought a Souldoll Chantel and a Dollshe Bernard lol.

    11. I'm still working on getting a second one!! I've had my tiny for a year now. I keep going back and forth about which one should be my second. Should I get another tiny? A larger one? Oh, this one is cute! No, this one is cuter!

And then I either forget which site I saw them at or I just spend my money on something else!

    12. Technically I bought my second doll at the end of October, but I sold my first doll (which I had commented about earlier in this thread) just before buying the second doll, so I'm still at one. Now I'm considering getting a (second) second doll, because I will be attending the NYC Dolpa in June and want to participate in the workshop. So I've been thinking about getting Mi-chan/Mii-chan, because I like her more than either of the offered school heads. I'm still not 100% on it, though. I don't seem to have the compulsion to buy more dolls that seems to strike a lot of people.

    13. I get distracted a lot by other things!!! The compulsion can be there but then I see something else shiny~

    14. I'm already looking into a second BJD and I haven't even received my first one in the mail yet..;) oops

    15. My second one will probably be coming on my birthday, so that would be 6 monts after my first one :]

    16. At first i really didn't think about getting a secong BJD due to personal reasons, however after about half a year i recieved Toki, destiny, my sister, has already started hunting for a little brother for clavis ^_^
this is when i started to think 'maybe Toki would be happy if i get him a little sister =D ' then i looked on nearly all doll companies i can find, struggled between the leeke Ramid, Luts Bory(girl) , Luts Ani (girl), AS Gus (girl) and a AS leira, but have ended up with my little girl Jacqli (AS leira).

P.S. i was looking for girl at the time but it was later on till i realised that ramid was a boy xDD

    17. I actually bought my second in the MP here while still waiting for my first to arrive from Lati, because I'm an impatient git like that. I tend to count them collectively as my first doll even though the choosing/ordering/receiving process was a bit out of order. I had sort of decided I wanted one in every size available to practice seamstressing on, and then one popped up in the marketplace that was smaller than the one I'd ordered...and I could justify the heck out of it, but really they were just both so painfully beautiful and I had spare cash at the time. A couple months after they arrived, however, I found out I was pregnant with my second son and ended up taking nearly 18 months completely away from the hobby. I rediscovered them a few months ago and have since, er, bought three more. :blush

I did feel a little guilty about the first doll I bought after picking it back up - I have a Lati G, J'aime Adonis, Pukipuki, and LTF on the way, and the first doll I ordered after my hiatus was an SD13. I was afraid she wouldn't fit in with the group, that I wouldn't like sewing for or painting her because she's so large all my mistakes would glare at me in macrocosm, or that I'd just leave her in her box all the time for fear of damaging Her Giganticness.

    18. as there was a sale event....is it a good reason?XD

    19. Yes, I agree totally and anyway if this is a "hobby " , how can you just have one ???

    20. I got my first this February along with a bit of an incident that almost made me leave the hobby (MP buy with damage, and the seller gave me a hard time - never got the agreed compensation, either), but I ended up buying a replacement for the damaged head AND a new head to get a body for! These things are just way too beautiful to resist sometimes, even if they do knock the teeth out of your wallet.

Since my first was 70cm and the head I bought is more SD size, I'm thinking I'm going to get one in each size and work on my sewing. :)
