    1. It's a little more girly than I'd been anticipating, that being said I'm intrigued by the clothes, and I'd love to know for sure what body he's on. :) Of course IOS is putting their boy on-sale again later this spring--next month, I think? And he's quite lovely...

    2. I think he'd be great to pair with a Delf Soo. She's more stylized/anime-ish than the other CP sculpts, and I've always thought that, although lovely, she looks a bit odd next to any of the Delf boy sculpts.

      By the way (and for the sake of giving correct info to newcomers), it's Cer ber us (not Cer eb us) as in Cerberus., the three-headed dog that guards the entrance to Hades. And for the same reason, although the sculpture is done by Cerberus Project, the name of the company that actually sells the doll under discussion is Fairyland. No sense in driving the noobs insane if we can help it!

    4. Kudos to Fairyland - they went thru the proper channels, and they'll (hopefully) make a mint. The sculpt isn't my cup of tea, but it is lovely. I wonder how many Black Butler fans they'll be able to pull into the hobby...?

    5. I....want his outfit, I cant really say much for his face mold, its actually a little er, creepy, I dunno i think its the nose :/ actually just the whole presentation of his face is off for me. His outfit however is tempting me....and the wig is nice.

    6. The body is too thin to be on the newer F65 bodies. I'm going to assume it's on a F70 body because of how lanky it is. The only thing that really throws me off are his eyebrows. I dont think they're doing anything aesthetically pleasing for his face. I think he would look a lot more true to the character if they were lower.

      Personally I'm a little annoyed FL released yet ANOTHER new doll while they're still behind with so many orders. But, it's only being released in Japan so it's not too horribly god awful. I'd just like to see them take a break for a while and work on finishing a lot of the things they need to get done.

    7. Just saw this in GF! I liked his face at first, but after a while, his lips started bothering me ^^;; still, in the end, I do like him.

      Also, I LOVE the outfit! They (or their seamstress lol), did a great job in translating it to doll-size!

    8. I agree that everything looks pretty good to me - except the head. Which I am very glad for, I'd hate to fall in love with a doll I couldn't get my hands on. Its definitely interesting to see Fairyland playing around with projects like this. I'm not interested in character dolls myself, but some nice moulds could result from it none the less.

    9. Doll is way too anime like for me >< And to be honest if you were to remove the "anime-like" faceup, to me, the doll's over all facial structure isn't very umm. I don't know could just be me, but I agree I do like the I.O.S. version a bit better *but* this one is more in line with the anime. But I do usually love Fairyland, so I'm guessing they were trying to appease the anime fans more? Goregous outfit though.

    10. FL is plannning to release a less muscular 65cm boy body (much like they have with their smaller doll lines), perhaps this is their first release of that body type?

      I don't like him as much when I think "BJD" but if I look at him with an action figure collecting eye he looks pretty fab! CP's sculptors are also known for their anime figurines so I see the influence in Sebastian's face. I think they are looking at the anime crossover collector and Black Butler specific fans with this and I assume once he's sold out his price will go up! up! up!

    11. I think this is a huge coup for Fairyland to land the rights to make this doll. Black Butler is pretty popular in Japan right now, and I think one of the bigger series now, at least for girls. It sounds like they plan to make more future character dolls though it is unclear if they are from Black Butler or other series.

      Personally, I think he looks like Sebastian.

    12. When I first saw the news thread late last night, I was almost certain that I would be doomed. As other people mentioned, however, the face sculpt just seems off to me. I don't think it is an ugly sculpt by any means, but Sebastian has a rather long face, and CP's rounder face makes him look too young in my opinion.

      If they decide to do a more masculine Claude sculpt though? Let's just say I'd make one hell of a feast out of him D:

    13. The full description of the doll states that he's on a Feeple 65 body (and his posing ability and hands make that fairly clear) but that the body type is exclusive to the Sebastian doll. I'm hoping that they are able to release some kind of modified version of this body in the future because I love how much slimmer it is than the first Feeple 65 body that's been available to the rest of us. *fingers crossed for an a la carte skinny body option* I'm personally most intrigued by his two fabulous wigs, but I doubt anything like them will be available separately. :(
      CP has been doing anime figures for longer than they've been doing BJDs, so I doubt it's been too taxing for them to work on this license deal. This guy is clearly geared for Kuroshitsuji fans who want an even cooler action figure version of Sebastian than say, an RAH figure, rather than BJD collectors who go for more realistic interpretations of anime characters.

    15. I'm in the boat where I just think it's really cool that Fairyland got a license to do a doll like this :) I love Fairyland, so I hope they get some money from this to support all their future projects~
      I am also very interested in a 65cm skinnier boy body from Fairyland, so I am intrigued by this as well.
      Though I must admit, the faceup of this sculpt scares me somewhat ^^; I think it's mostly the eyebrows - the rest looks very much like Sebastian! I also love the outfits - they did a great job translating the outfit into a doll scale. It looks like one would get two outfits with the doll...but I can't read Japanese very well so I am just guessing from the pictures...
      In any case, I am looking forward to Fairyland's future projects. It seems they are geared up to produce some really awesome stuff :D

      I'd like to see the Fairyland version in conjunction with an MSD boy as well, I can only assume they would be using MSD for Ciel, if they do a Ciel (heavens know they ought to do one!), so it'd be nice to just have the height difference confirmed. :)

    20. I know, cha-ching! :sweat But the quality of that company's clothes is outstanding, my sissy got the suit for the Blood head, and it's smashing, I must say, quite nice. I'm pretty confident we will be ordering the outfit to go with the doll next month, and as that company does do clothing requests, there are a few other things we need too, eep!

      Speaking of being OT, yikes! I wonder how much the Sebastian from Fairyland's going to be, and if anyone will be offering services to get him over here a la Volks exclusives?
