It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Cerberus Project Sebastion from Black Butler- Only in Japan!

Apr 15, 2011

    1. All kinds of rules would be broken for a Yukimura and Musamune. :) I will say this about FUNi. If fans demand it enough, they start thinking about it. It's how they got Hetalia. and since they have ins with both Black Butler and Sengoku Basara, maybe it's time for an email campaign. We want dolls, dangit!

I know what you mean, Rynn007. I read the first manga vol and just started the series, but it IS so engaging. Of course we want Sebastian. He's one hell of a butler. ;) Grell is a great foil, but I don't want him tucking me in at night. heh heh.

I figure shopping agents exist. I just didn't need to see it in print. :)

    2. Mm...I'm loving the outfit and everything and I do like the faceup but...I don't really think it suits Sebastian much at all. The head seems too childish and while I know he's rather feminine, this also looks too girly in my humble opinion. I think the face should be longer with a slightly broader nose but that just means I won't be heartbroken that I can't get him I suppose. Phew.:sweat

    3. Stop mentioning other animes I like!

Oh god, if they did Saiyuki or Hetalia I'd die of squee.

    4. Although I have my sebastian I totally want this doll as it's official and looks more like a figure ahhh I want him so much!!!!

    5. I hope they create Grell... or maybe Gintoki Sakata from Gintama? XD I'll die...

    6. I love his outfit to death, it's really gorgeous...but...his face. I'm really not sold on it.

He's a very pretty doll, no doubt, but he's not quite right for Sebastian.
I hope they don't create too many other character dolls, because one might just take me, and that'd be a big problem!

    7. I must get this doll no matter what....

....does anyone know of a japanese-dealer who would be willing to help me bring him home?

    8. I personally do not care for this version, I liked the IOS sculpt much better.

    9. Likely the shopping places listed on the third page, like Shopping Mall Japan? Good luck!

    10. Erm....Honestly the pictures creep me out...I'm not saying he's ugly.He is a pretty boy to a certain extent.I do think that the expression is awesome but not the lips.....I have to agree IOS definitely did a great job in creating a 3D Seb........Now I'm curious how will this sales go.....

    11. WOW ~! I'm not liking his faceup much, though. I wish the would do Grell!

    12. So there doesn't seem to be a limit to the number you can put in your shopping cart, but I didn't go all the way to checkout. I think the most critical information we can glean from this whole thing is the note in his description "Series No. 1"
      :D More please!

    13. At first it was whoa! He looks too young, and kinda perverted, and...but the more you look at it...it does grow on you.

    14. Shopping service for Japan. -shrugs-

    15. Oh gods, please be merciful and don't let doll companies release a Sakata Gintoki any time soon, or I will have to sell my left kidney and a lobe of liver just to get him =_=

As for Sebastian... I have to say, I think they stuck really closely with his anime looks, and that's what really killed it. Anime drawings tend to really not translate well into 3D shape, like, EVER, unless the anime was already really realistic (my anime figure collection can speak for this... uggo faces aaa-hoy). Certain allowances HAVE to be made to make the face appear aesthetically pleasing in three dimensions and a bigger size.

Simplistic anime-eqsue faces might look good in 1/9 sized figures, but they don't look good on a two-foot-tall ones. Sebastian here can definitely use some lessons in, among other things, the value of keeping your own natural eyebrow hair. Ah well, I'm sure we'll see at least a few amazing repaints.

    16. That's the problem with making most manga characters into dolls too. Unless the artist invested time (and in the case of anime, money) into delineating all the facial structures, the doll artist doesn't have much to go on unless they do a representative sculpt. It's why MNM heads based on living people look way better than those based on anime/manga characters (imo). Also think it's why the IOS sculpt is more realistic looking. She went for some cheekbone and to make a person instead of a character. FL is definitely a character. Neverthless, if I could buy the FL I would. I like the version and I'd like to encourage more official dolls.

    17. LOL!! I just want them to do a Saiyuki anime that picks up where season 1 left off. It's some of the best filler I've ever seen.

    18. OMG I have a friend that would love this! She has plans to turn one of the AOD molds into a Sebastian and she was really frustrated by people's reaction to RDs Judges (I think she wants one of him too).

    19. Just to weigh into the body debate: I have been checking out the photos of the new Sebastian (and those which you can zoom into on this site: http://hobby-channel.net/girlsnews/21137-21137.html - scroll over the photos are they zoom in) and considering his posing, the length of his legs and the general appearance of thinness and height, I decided he was on a F70 body.
Disregarding the apparent item description there are a few reasons that I have for this decision:
      - Fairyland/CP do not release any new body without a lot of fanfare (which they are particularly fond of). Just look at the last release of the F65 and before that, the Chic-line.
      - Fairyland/CP do not release proto-types. They have clearly stated that they spent a number of years (10?) working on the F65 to make it ready for production. While they do like to give their customers what they want, they would not short-cut their systems and release something without making sure it was completely ready.
      - Fairyland/CP would release the body, if it was a new version of the F65 to the world, after all, it’s just the head that is licensed. And why would they release a whole new body for a character doll which might not sell?
      - Fairyland/CP do not change the size of the torso when making muscular/non-muscular versions of the same doll. Just look at the Chic-line and MNF versions. Therefore it would be more likely that a non-muscular version of an F65, would have the same torso and shoulder width.
      - F65s were made to look more realistic. (much like the SOOM Idealian) – this includes forearm muscles and veins. When you scroll over and zoom in to the photo on this site (http://hobby-channel.net/girlsnews/21137-21137.html) where the doll is in short sleeves, there is a lack of arm muscles/veins.
      - F65s, being more realistic, do not fit the anime aesthetic of thin bodies with long legs. Why would Fairyland/CP release an anime based doll on a realistic, muscle bound body which does not match the aesthetic? The F70 on the other hand, has a thin body and long legs... wouldn’t it make more sense to release an anime character on an F70?
      - F65s have in proportion leg lengths. The Sebastian clearly has very long legs, this is a very distinctive feature of the F70 and would possibly explain the price of the outfit... after all, the F65 is a much similar shape and length (in leg) of many other SSDs on the market. F70s need to have trousers specially made for their long legs.
      - F65s have a distinct width in the shoulder and chest. Being realistic, they also have a tapered look from shoulders to hips and this is extremely hard to disguise. The Sebastian has a very straight look from shoulders to hips (something typical of an F70) – just check out this comparison thread: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?434148 )

    20. I don't know if they accept credit cards issued by foreign banks. If they do, a cheaper way would be using packet forwarding service, like Tenso.

But yen exchange rate has gone sky high recently, I haven't bought anything from Japan for months.*_*
