It's gorgeous, even though Sebastian is stronger than this one in my head.

The body is slight thin to me, and the hands seem small too.

Anyway, it's great someone make him. I wonder will they make Ciel too?

I asked FairyLand about the future availability of the body used for Sebastian and they said they were unable to give any definite answer about the separate sale of his body type. But they did make the distinction between it and the current Feeple 65 body and that it is not a Feeple 70 body.

 

...... Is it a Delf body??

 

They didn't say it was a Delf body and I don't know why it would be one. Looks like we'll just have to be satisfied with vagaries until Fairyland volunteers more information or somebody gets a Sebastian.

 

I know exactly what your saying here cause that was my first reaction as well. HUGE fan of the series and I at first was disappointed in his face up then slowly it grew and grew on me and now I'm like "TOTALLY buying XD!". What I am hoping for is that they'll eventually do Ciel Phantomhive so I won't go through all the trouble of making my own XD.

I LOVE anime like faceups. I am working on my dollfie dream as we speak and I don't mind his clothing at all. Someone mentioned that they look "cheap" I think they fit perfectly. We will just have to see huh? I'm more interested in getting a Ciel than a Sebastian anyways ^_^. Lets just cross our fingers that Ciel will be made. w00t!~

 

when i first saw this, i was like "OMG OMG WANT WANT WANT".. but when i try to stare at him for a moment, there's something off with his face..i dunno, maybe the head mold didn't match sebastian's..I like Osiris more..

 

Don't feel bad. I've waffled too. At first was like, "Not too bad." Then I went nosy about for basic figures and ran across the Enix one. So I picked that up (and the chibi which is just too cute for words), then came back to look at the bjd doll and went, "meh." On the bjd side of things right now, like others on the board, if I could get my piddies on the IoS homage doll I'd snatch it. I do still think that for an anime style sculpt it's a good one. Maybe it's the deeper I go into the series. maybe it was the nav menu image FUNi used for pt 1 disc 2. I want that sly seductive look.

And heaven help us if anyone ever comes out with a doll version with black wings.

Hmm I'm a fan of the Manga, especially since its set in old England, Victorian reign. But there is something not quite right about the face to me. Sebastian was not as feminine and feline at all and the nose is kind of wrong. Doesn't work for me. But cool idea, though Pullip/Taeyang made dolls from this series amongst other vinyl companies with the franchise. Is it too done?

Anyway just wanted to share this and talk about it.What do you guys think?

 

I saw the Fairyland Sebastian Doll in pictures at a Japanese anime festival back in August, and he really looked umm... bad. The promo pictures make him look okay, but the real life pictures are just awful! If anything... I was highly disappointed by the sculpt for his head. It's just not right. Heck, I just finished having my Dollzone Yuu-1 customized to look like Sebastian (not trying to brag), and he looks a lot better than what Fairyland had offered.

 

I don't think it's supposed to be an exact portrait--just one of their usual sculpts dressed as Sebastian. If you think of it as cosplay and don't worry so much about the failings in resemblance, it's adorable. And his outfit is to die for (as Grell would probably say) =)

 

It is not one of the existing heads, and since this thread was merged to the original thread, you can see the news article of the hows and whys of him only being released in Japan. I don't like it much, it looks too young to be Sebastian-san, but I like the anime and manga quite a bit and have more definite ideas of how he should look I suppose. Even if it IS a licensed version, I think it could and likely has been done better by fans or other doll folk.

 

I...tend to agree with some that the IoS version looks a bit better. The proportions on the Fairyland head are a little too immature. Despite that, I think he looks a fair bit like Sebastian, if not one of the earlier "versions" of him. In the first couple of manga, Yana Toboso's design for him looks proportionately more like the sculpt for the Fairyland version's head. Of course, maybe it's just me that thinks that Sebastian tended to look a bit less cute-sy after the first couple volumes (I feel like his forehead and eyes shrunk a bit). In any case, let's hope that they make a Ciel for him, though!

 

I would be fascinated by a Ciel...but am happy with my IoS boy.
