It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Changing in front of your doll

Dec 14, 2022

    1. Kind of a weird question but would you change your clothes in front of your doll? I've heard of people turning around their plushies when they change so I wonder if people also do this with their dolls if they happen to be in the same room at the time. I used to do this but I have too many plushies now so I just try to shield myself the best I can lol

Edit: Just want to let everyone know I appreciate their responses and read each and every one of them even if I don't reply! I know it's weird question and most people seem not to think about it. I know they're just dolls but I've had somewhat low self esteem regarding my body image so anything with eyes (real or not) makes me a little uncomfortable like someone is staring at me. I also feel bad that my innocent babies have to see that lol

    2. My bedroom is full of dolls and toys, I'm 39 I've always had a room full of toys. So I'm just use to the inanimate object staring blankly no matter what I do. /shrug

    3. I frequently get shy about changing or lazing around clothless post-shower, haha! Even before I got dolls, many of my stuffed animals would give me the same reaction. It's worse when I first bring someone new into my room, but as time goes on I get used to their presence and don't feel super embarrassed. ....Until I happen to glance up and we make eye contact! I don't move my dolls or anything, though; that would be too much of a bother with how I have them set up. But I will nudge a stuffed animal into a different position.

    4. This is honestly something I've never thought about before. Then again, I also walk around (like from the bathroom to my room) in a towel/naked out of the shower with the windows open and don't really care. I am definitely of the mindset "if someone is brave enough to look into my second-story window and happens to catch a glimpse, maybe they shouldn't have looked". That isn't to say I run around clothesless often, usually, I do not. However, I also wasn't shy/intimidated by being naked in the gym locker room (and later basic training open showers). It is just a body, everyone has one. I don't think I'd ever even have a second thought about changing in front of my dolls. Maybe I'll have to test this theory and set one of them up in my bedroom.

    5. Funnily enough I don't mind changing in front of my dolls but sometimes I can't sleep with them in the room. I have an overactive imagination and get creeped out easily

    7. My logic is just... I've seen them naked, so what's the difference? I don't really care lol.

    9. I cant even keep the cat out when changing so I don't even bother fighting my dolls for privacy... lol

    10. Mine live in the walk-in closet where I keep all of my clothes and like 2 dozen plushies so hopefully they don't mind lol.

    11. I used to feel weird about it (I’d even sometimes place a piece of paper over magazine covers that had a person on the front), but I stopped caring a long time ago. Every once in a while I’ll feel odd about being “watched” again, but I generally just shrug and carry on.

    12. I don’t mind and unfortunately for my building’s random inspection team, the reverse (having nude dolls around when I’m working on them) is true as well.

    14. When I was (much) younger I used to feel like that with the posters/pictures on my wall but I've never been that way around plushies or dolls, even if sometimes it feels like they're watching me lol.

    15. I mean they're dolls... they don't really have an opinion on it, or anything for that matter. :sweat

    16. I oddly dont care about being clotheless in front of them, but I do try to not let them be clothesless in front of each other. Unless their characters are close enough, like married or parent and young child. I do try to keep their character in mind for this also. Like I have one girl who is not shy at all so I don't really try hard to keep her out of sight of the others. But I also have a very shy girl so I do my best to keep her away from everyone when I change her.

    17. I have no fear of the judgement of inanimate eyes.

Besides, like someone said up-thread... I've seen all of THEM starkers, so it's fair.

    18. Lmfao, they live in my bedroom I share with my fiancé so they see much more than just me changing. Hahaha

    19. From a very young age I had this ingrained paranoia of being stared at—regardless if the object doing the staring was alive or inanimate. It has improved over time, but I still do tend to do 95% of clothes changing in the bathroom. The eye-staring paranoia does contribute to that, but it's also more convenient to change in the bathroom. Better lighting, plus I might be taking care of bathroom-exclusive activities at the same time that would seem absurd to do in my bedroom.

Oddly enough, I've grown mostly comfortable with having my cat follow me into the bathroom, however. There's no way I was going to argue with her about keeping out, so it's just something I've learned to put up with. :XD:

So....yeah—I don't tend to have my resin crew present while I'm any states of undress.:kitty2

    20. I don't mind! My dolls are kept on a shelf in my room, so I change in front of them every day
