Character Creation: What-Race, Nationality or Species is your doll? Pt. 2!

Dolls that *look* human, but aren't... Yeah. There are a few of those around here.

Leaving out the ones that have obvious fantasy parts (horns, hooves, etc), as well as the sculpts with elf ears, we end up with...

Kitsumaru (Shine) is a fox kami.
Crane (El), Nightengale (Dreaming El mod) and Kingfisher (Vampire Shiwoo) are god-beasts... a celestial lion, a ghost tiger and a kirin, respectively.
Ptolemaeus (Sleeping Breakaway) is a zephyr; an air elemental.
Hon Mun (BV Breakaway) is a lion-dog.
Kessari (Breakaway) is a water dragon.
Julian (BV Breakway), Ashley (Sleeping BV Breakway) and Amber (Moon) are sidhe.
Rone (Dreaming El mod) is a kind of orchard fairy called an Aine-dhu.
Fergus (Vampire Shiwoo) is a selkie.
The Archivist (Amakusa mod; "Archie" to his friends) is a librarian spirit.
Shen (Heath) is a virtual AI, an expert system program frame. (from the tabletop RPG 'Shadowrun')
Kestrel (LTF Chole) and Palrah (Akando) are creatures of Rularuu. (from the City of Heroes MMO)
Rhaja (Arkose) is an Asmodian deva. (from the Aion MMO)
Issun (Banji) is a type of little sprite called a poncel. (from 'O-kami')
Sjhan (Dreaming Shiwoo) is an Ariane seeker. (A species from the tabletop RPG 'Talislanta')
William Adolphus (Sleeping Vampire Breakaway) is a vampire.
Jemina (Kum Ran) is a werewolf.
Serras (Dreaming Moon) is a ghost... Which still sort-of counts as "human", I guess.
Daisy (DH Soo) is a raksha. (from the tabletop RPG 'Exalted')
D (Yder) is... hard to explain. You'd have to read 'Petshop of Horrors' to get that one. o_0
Hideo (Amakusa) is a tomb guardian.
Aku (Ayumu) is a very young fire oni.
Oracle (SO Heliot), Mender (SO Cuprit) and Poet (Jet) are sentient machines; androids, essentially.
... and Huginn (Winter '09) and Muninn (Bliss) are ravens... Or the dreams of ravens, anyway.

As for the second question... yes, I have. My Elf Yder (Blackbird) isn't an elf, he's a member of a species of aliens who call themselves the Founders. Teacup and Kaedae, my Elf Shiwoos, are a raksha and a butterfly kami. My LTF Elf Shiwoo (Pally) isn't an elf, either. Like Kestrel and Palrah (He's actually a chibi/kid version *of* Palrah-), he's Rularuu. I've already mantioned Fergus, the vampire Shiwoo (who's a selkie) and Ptolemaeus, the Vampire Breakaway (who's a zephyr)...

 

I'm trying to figure out a name for this little teeny fairy people I'm using Pukipukis to portray. They are inspired heavily by Nomes/Gnomes and the Nac Mac Feegle from the books of Terry Pratchett, and the Borrowers from the books by Mary Norton.
Brownies brings the association of chores done for a saucer of milk. These guys don't DO chores.
Gnomes is taken, as seen above.

 

Big Karl looks quite human, and by character prefers to look human. He is actually an extremely ancient and powerful fire demon, who in his real form is taller and looks like fire that is humanoid-shaped.

Asura can be mistaken for a human albino (even with his deep red hair), but he's a deity and ruler of the underworld. He's far older than Karl.

Mei Ling was human but has been a vampire for over 600 years, and rarely shows her fangs so she is still easily mistaken for being a human teenager.

Strata looks human unless you notice his eyes, which are green that fade into a blue center instead of a black pupil. He was genetically engineered and did not know that nor several other things about his past until later in his life.

I think everybody else in my crew is either human and looks human, or something else and definitely looks like something else. xD

Quinlan is an elf. Epifan is a vampire.

My other dolls are human. Well, my incoming Spiritdoll Mint is an immortal kid.

 

Well not exactly a species....but my next incoming doll will be the humanoid manifestation of a Ford Mustang Shelby car.

I guess that is on the obscure side

Well, I don't plan to mod him...but I'll paint a part of is chest to show some of his inner workings. I still need to make plans how I'll match the human anatomy and a car's parts...I'm also commissioning a jacket for him that should imitate the look of the Shelby-stripes. Ah, and I might get him a Ringdoll mechanic arm, just for fun. We'll see^^

 

Interesting... I would've thought there would be more angels around.

My current doll family are all angels. Unfallen ones, but all in exile for various reasons, and unable to return to heaven. Which is not their desire, but in the meantime they've found a safe house with me. Since they are hiding on earth, they don't manifest their true angelic appearances.

All my dolls (past and present) have been human in appearance, but are actually non-humans of various kinds

 

My newest girl is a fae (for a lack of better word), she is practically and elf without pointy ears. This race is sort of made up by combining already made up species. I'd say that she ia a combination of an elf and some sort of fairy. But she looks human.

Also I am planning on getting a troll girl. For her, I will make a tail ^^

 

Most of my bigger dolls are different New World of Darkness characters. Dess is a Mage (Mysterium Thrysus), and her boyfriend Cal was originally a Genius, but I might have him be a more mad-science themed Mage. Ellowyn, who I just got a week ago, is a Changeling (Autumn Court Wizened Oracle). Aiko, who's just a head and bust piece at the moment, is an Unfleshed Promethean, so a sort of living robot.

As for my tinies, one of them is a Moon Pixie, and is sort of like Dess's assistant. The other one is less human-looking, because she has blue skin. I was going to have her be a Troll from WoW, but that would require some modding, and I don't want to risk hurting her, so she ended up being half-Troll, half-Human.

 

Two of my dolls are non-human (well...three if you count my anthro dog).

Aurora Hunter looks human, but she is a shape-shifter and her alter ego is a lioness. In darker times, her people were hunted and killed because people believed them to be "demons". She's only ever met one other of her kind, although she knows there must be more.

Sini Iloa is humanoid, but definitely not human. Sini comes from the planet Eris. The Erisans are a technologically advanced race who have developed faster-than-light travel. They are also empaths. Sini has a quite lengthy backstory; however, suffice it to say she is the only survivor (as far as she knows) of the destruction of her starship and she is currently stranded on Earth. The Erisans are an alien race that I came up with.

 

Timmorn and Rhanee are young werewolves, and Qing is a household Brownie. Meigui and Mogu are supposed to represent Didi's Shoulder-devil and Shoulder-angel respectively. So Didi is my only human so far.

 

Well, lessee, my nonhuman dolls are an android, an alien, a lucky cat, a hamadryad, a spider-spirit demon, an imp, a pan-imp, a naga, a ghost, a couple of nymphs, a Brownie, and the Entity of Decay.

I don't own all of them yet, but in order, they are: Supia Roda nYID hybrid, Dollshe Rosen, Soom ZZZ Shonki, Soom SO Amber, Soom SO Chalco modded Souldoll Shiva hybrid, Custom Soom modded Taco\Dolomi\Syen hyrbid, Soom modded Winnie Dee R.Ai, Custom Soom Breccia, Elfdoll R.Lydia Supia hybrid, Soom OE Beyla and Yrie LTF hybrids, FL Realpuki Roro, Jungatoy D.skull\Resinsoul\Soom hybrid.

And yes, I know that the Souldoll Shiva body only has six limbs total, which would make her an insect, but I have plans to add a third pair of arms to make the total limb count eight. ^ - ^

 

Well, one of my dolls is a 'doctor of xenotransplantation' and some others are his creations, so I have some human/monster mishmashes, which is kind of like a new species I guess...XD

 

Interesting reads. I happen to really love the fantasy dolls. The variety of creatures/species is awesome and the sculpting work on some of them is incredible.

I have an obvious elf, my Minifee DES is an elf of heavily Tolkien influenced background.
But my human doll characters (including the planned ones) have semi magical elemental affinities so they are not your average humans.

I'm working on a character that is either a Time Lord or a species very similar, so she would look human but technically be alien.
And I may end up with a vampire if that character's development continues on it's current path.

I would be interested in getting an anthropomorphic cat boy at some point if I can find a sculpt that would be suitable for him. Or better yet all the right parts so he can shape shift between a more human and more feline form.

Have I created a species? Well yes and no. I haven't figured out the "rules" and a name for my cat boy's people, when I do then I can say yes.
I am however working on a culture for my elves. It's a similar process.

 

I have a vampire, a werewolf, and three humans. Pretty standard~! ^^

It's increadible, but now that I think of it, non of my dolls is human.
Well Louis is, but he is a floating, practice head, I just got a month back.
Jean Armand was human once, but is Immortal now.
Lucius is some undifined deni-god thing, bored to death after an infinite existace here on this plane. he poses a a wizadr sometimes.But he is capable of way more. He has restraint himselve into a little "human" diva.
Zhousu, is an elf, and comes from his own world.
And my nameles yo-sd on it's way is an elf too.
So no humans here....
The immortal and demi-god go by my own rules, unset and unstable as they are.
The other just don't tell me their rules, secretive elfves.....
