Character Creation: What-Race, Nationality or Species is your doll? Pt. 2!

Well I imagine my Lance to be a prince lived in a garden and my Luts 10s2 to be his brother who born in a farmer's family. I know this sounds like some old fairy, but their elegance just reminds me of the prince and his brother's scene..

 

I'e never really think that much into my characters since I change them every other week. -.- (Yeah, I'm that kind of person..) But when it boils down to it, my girl is Mixed-American with European and A.A. (African-American) ancestry. I based this girl off of Shailene Woodley's background because I thought it was really interesting. Plus it works since I pretty much have the same. As far as fantasy goes, I've created my own vampire/werewolf mix. That was before I was in the hobby though, but If I ever do try and develop a fantasy character, I'm probably going with that.

 

I have a human head that will be a half-angel. And my humans are super powered and from another planet. Or at least one is! The other is the subject of an ancient prophecy that started across the universe. I have two animalistic dolls that I made species up for, the gonas and the pan, which each have their own cultures. And I have an elf doll that's a half-elf. I love fantasy, so none of my dolls are just plain old humans. I love making up new species and using fantasy creatures. I'm a plain human with dolls that can be anything I want, so why create humans?

I generally ignore folklore though, and just do my own thing with the creatures' lifestyle and culture and such.

I have a group of flower pixies, a mermaid, an anthro cat and a LotusNear who's clearly not human, but I dunno who he is. Maybe a guardian spirit of some lakes and forested islands. Among my humans are a Central African boy, a Native American girl and others are just "generic human", maybe Russians since I'm Russian and this is "default" nationatity for me. Their names don't always clarify the situation because two of them are Biblical and I can't imagine a nationality who has "Marshmallow" as a name.

 

None of my dolls are human. XD

Cordiel is a phoenix--my version of a phoenix, with a humanoid form and wings and magic. He's Welsh.
Pen is a shapeshifter with no concrete nationality.
Sam is a Lunar Demon--kind of a genetic cousin of elves (both descended from fae, but Lunar Demons/Angels are a separate species). He's from the moon.
Leah is an elf, and Japanese.
Siri is a half-elf, German, and half-Jewish.

My doll is a young 6 year old upper east side queen, with blond hair.

 

My dolls all generally look human, except for one who has actual fantasy parts. However, their species are a mix of humans and a made up fantasy species I created called Grimbeasts.Those are their two distinct species. Then, among them only a handful are actually living, so then I have angels and demons, which isn't effected by their status as human or Grimbeast. Then, out of that, two of them were created by scientists and rely on machinery to keep them alive so are thus cyborgs.

I know it sounds like a lot, but these things all go hand in hand together. There are no "halves" here because they bother me. All in all it's a classic angels v. demons storyline, just with two different species thrown in the mix.

 

It is amazing that everyone sees in her BJD something completely different ... :-). Mine are all ordinary people, but to me somehow smuggled Indian with elf ears ...:-D, but it is a great companion for nature walks :-)

 

I have 3 dolls that are fully human, 1 that is a half-demon half-human, and 1 that is a demon of rage. In the future I hope to bring to life 3 new characters that were lab created. Two of them can be considered androids/machines; the other, coming from a different story, is a thing for now. I have no idea what to call him..yet haha.

 

shes going to originate from the forest when i get her. on a special day in a year so many are born to different elements. she will be a like a green fairy who has the gift of talking to plants.

 

I'm still really new to this hobby but I love that it's a perfect venue for my odd skill set. In my long-term project (after somewhat establishing skills in patternmaking, faceup and wigs, I have plans for a Native American girl. My daughter danced for a few years and I made her regalia. I'd love to be able to bead and make a jingle dress for a 1/3 or 1/4 doll.

 

I only have one girl right now and she is Scottish. In her bloodline there is Scottish, Irish, Norwegian and English (same as my ancestry)
But being that she lives in Scotland she is Scottish.
It sounds cliche but she also has a connection to the Fey Realms too.
She was a changeling for a brief period where she was taken into the fairy realm as a babe
so that her fey-child counter part could gain strength in the human world.
And later in the story she is infused with Fey qualities when she harbors her changeling-sister's spirit... (getting off track here, sorry ! )
but for the most part she is Human.
Aside from a few Arabian characters, all dolls that I plan to get in the near future that play a roll in this story
will either be from some region of northern Europe, the UK, or the Fey Realms.

 

I tried to make human characters, mainly because I knew that I would get carried away with mods/accessories if they were not. But sadly... I failed

So far all of my character ideas involve a story around angels and demons. An angel girl who loves to go to the human world and falls in love with a demon, a black-bird of sorts demon, their eventual daughter who is a hybrid, and the first girl's brother who is a warrior angel.

 

Eve is some sort of cyborg android thing. I haven't nailed down the story yet. Charlie is human (I think) and Lilibeth may or may not be a more advanced version of whatever Eve is. I've been throwing around a lot of fun ideas but haven't nailed their stories down yet

Mona is probably also human. *edit* Oh yeah, she's half French. I know that much about her bloodline anyway.

 

One of my dolls is a Shapeshifter and another is a djinn. I would absolutely consider coming up with my own species.

 

My doll....is a doll? She doesn't have a character or family history or story, she just sits on my shelf and kindly models the things i make for her and looks pretty. I guess she is English, though maybe not, cos if she was, she might do what I told her more often!

I am fascinated by people who make characters for their dolls, and have exact ideas in their head about this character's personality and likes and dislikes, but it's just not something I do.
