How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I've searched through the net and look at the doll's face and price. I have happened to see a doll with a face that look so like me with an affortable price. So, I've bought him. > u <

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?

When my boy came, I wasn't happy about his nose because it's not as cute as it was in the picture. D:
I didn't wish to buy another doll to replace him because this doesn't matter.. as long as he have the look that I felt he is supposed to be like.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
San from Abio Angel. Yup, I'm still owning him.

extra question: Were you even able to choose it? Was it a present?
I wasn't able to choose between Yi and San. Yi has a cute smile while San looks emo. After 1hour in front of the mirror, I think San suits my personality better.
It wasn't a present because I earned him myself and with some conditions with my parents. =x

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I shopped around for a long time and found lots of dolls that I thought were pretty before I discovered B&G Sapphira. To me, something really stood out about him. He wasn't just pretty, he was gorgeous. And as an added bonus, he was affordable!

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I knew when I saw him first on the B&G site. He stood out to me as gorgeous and perfect, and as soon as I looked at him, I knew who he was - who his character would be, what sort of clothes he would wear, etc. We were just "meant to be".

Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one?
No, not in the least. I found him more beautiful in real life than in the pictures that I'd made my choice from. I was (and am still!) perfectly happy with him and in love with him.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
B&G Sapphira. I still own him; he's been with me for just a couple of weeks over a year. I would never sell him.

extra question: Were you even able to choose it? Was it a present?
He wasn't a gift, I bought him with my own money.

 

1. Actually I was pretty confused. I love 2 dolls, Pitts (DoD) and Pudding (Luts). But the 1st doll I saw on web is Pitts and suddenly fall in love with her (until now).

2. After keep seeing her photos almost every day (for more than a year), then I decided to make her as my first~

3. Nope at all~ I'm truly happy and love her to bits~ I still love Pudding, but no regret for having Pitts as my 1st~~ :3

4. My 1st is Pitts & still have her, will always have her (no matter what).

5. Yes, I choose her by myself. She is... hmm... a present from me to me...

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
Well... When I first saw BJDs at an anime con, I fell head over heels in LOVE with them--at the time, I was only able to see LadySaiyuki's dolls and a beautifully painted Pipos Baha (I believe that's who it was!), but that night I flipped out searching for more on the internet. XD The con closed down at 9PM (Which was absurd >.>") so I had lots of time to search XD
Within a few hours, I had discovered Dream of Doll and fallen hopelessly for Shall. ^______^ (She was, without a doubt, the first doll that ever took my breathe away)

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
Absolutely immediately! As soon as I saw her, I knew she was the doll for me! Honestly, I didn't know all that much about dolls at the time--and even now, I'm still learning! In fact, I hadn't seen an SD sized doll until a few weeks ago and was very surprised by how large they were, but at the same time... I don't mind. ^__^ That being said, I didn't really know anything about how I would interact with her, how large she was, how much she weighed, etc... But her beauty completely stole my heart!

Definitely not! Actually, I'm still saving up for Shall at the moment. I actually ordered an Everpurple Turkish Angora (Ryun, with a 'sleeping' Miyang faceplate) several months into my saving because I grew impatient (though I've learned better now XD)... Though I feel that it took me a long time to bond with Allura, this summer especially I've totally fell in love with her. Ryun never stole my breathe like Shall to begin with, but the affection I feel for my little tiny nowadays blows me away sometimes.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?
As I said earlier, Allura (my EP Ryun) was actually my first doll--and yes I still own her. ^__^ Her first birthday is coming up in October~! ^________^

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?

- To be honest, it was really difficult for me to find the perfect doll, none of the dolls I've seen charmed me. That was until I stumbled on Iple's EID dolls, I dont know about most people, but I find these muscular boys really I fell for their Akando immediately, he took my breath away, I knew he's the right one for me :3

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?

- I dont know, I just knew I guess, right when I saw his picture theres this click and I just knew, and during then I didnt even planned to get a doll, I was browsing BJD sites randomly, looking at the dolls, it was when I saw IP's Akando that I recalled my heart actually skipped a beat, my brother was with me in the room and I excitedly showed him the pictures and gush at the doll's gorgeousness, my brother practically ignored me.

Years pass, I went to browse BJD sites again, saw Akando again and melted at the sight of him... again, bought him a couple of weeks later.

- Nope, I'm really happy with my choice. But truthfully, if the Limited Edition Akando was still buyable then, I guess I be torn whether to buy that or the basic, cuz' both of them are gorgeous.

Which doll was your first and do you still own it?

- Kal is my first doll, so yes, I still own him

- You can say it was a present for myself, you got to spoil yourself once in a while ^^ I wanted him for soo long, I couldnt wait any longer!

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
After seeing the same model of a friend of mine. One time we were in a car travelling to a mini-convention and she let me hold him. My impression of him was the noble face and a well muscled body, not overmuscled but athletic and thought he'd make an excellent swordsman. So when my friend arranged a group order this year, I got the same model.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
I'm a Rurouni Kenshin fan, and he fits the profile in appearance. Though Shinta has his own personality, he likes to cosplay and he is a beginner swordsman. Just started aikido . Recently he decided to take up viola da gamba, next to his singing, and looks to me to make one.

No, I loved him right away and I still do.

Shinta is my first and only BJD and I'm keeping him Nobody else is getting him, my precioussss

I knew the moment I saw Petsha she was the doll I had been waiting for. It was an accident... I was just browsing the DoD website and BAM. In a way, she made the decision for me.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?

Instantaneously.

She is not in my possession yet, but I know I will not be unhappy. I am glad I waited to order my first doll - if I hadn't, I would have not have found her.

Dream of Doll [Dream of Child] Petsha - Elf Version.

Were you even able to choose it? Was it a present?

Yes. I even showed her to my husband and he agreed that she was perfect.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
At first I thought up the shape and character and I looked for such doll. I saw MANY photos until I found it.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
Not immediately, more that four months... Choise was wide, and I has small expirience with BJDs. I learned in process.

No! I was very glad!

I seeked advice from my friend who collect dolls.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I looked at a pretty good directory of dolls and companies, found Cherish to have the cutest designs at an affordable price, and looked around to see which doll grabbed me. I actually wanted a Gale at first (Henry is a Favian). But when I looked back later, I fell so very hard for the Favian mold's soft features.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first? As soon as I saw him. When he got here in person, it only cemented the fact that he was the one for me.
Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one? No, not at all. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't been so quick to rush in, and had done more research. But I don't think it would have made any difference either way. I really can't imagine having bought any other doll. His size, his face, everything about him was perfect for me. Even if I was reckless, I know I made the right choice.

Henry (Cherish Doll Favian) was my first. And yes, I still have him. c:

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
I looked through all the dolls of many companies and at first I really liked Luts Miyu and Blanchet, but then I found Angell Studio and their Cinderella. I asked my friends what they thought about the Cinderella and my other friend said "Awwww. So cute! Get that one!" and the other one said "ABSOLUTELY NOT, PLEASE!". Eventually I got her even though "Friend N.2" said no. X3

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
When I firs laid my eyes on her, but I still wanted to hear my friends first.

AS Cinderella. Still have her and I'm not planning to give her away. Ever. ^.-

 

Unfortunately for me, I have yet to purchase my first doll ._.; however!

I have settled on which one to bring home first. CP SOO-DARK HUMAN will be the one. I knew she was the one first and foremost because she's always screamed "Hi, I'm Damien!" for about the last three years or so when I look at her promo shots...

The only other doll I really right now is CP LISHE(Tanning Skin), and since she was produced in limited amounts and is no longer made by LUTS, I had to decide on a regular release from them. Since Damien is one of my more favoured characters, I knew it had to be her I brang home.

I don't expect I'll be disappointed with her, especially if owner shots are any indication of how gorgeous she is in reality...

It's gonna be SOO-DARK HUMAN! And I don't have her yet, but soon... Soon...

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first?
It wasn't that hard for me (I knew I wanted a girl and I didn't know about all the different brands yet) I just picked the girl I thought was he cutest from Volks.

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
She just seemed like she would be perfect at the time, but I kinda wish I knew about the other brands out there before I chose her.

Volks MSD Hisue (I think thats the one, might have the name wrong) still own her and still my only on, but I am totally gunna be able to get another one soon x3

I chose her, and she was my 16th birthday present ^^

 

I haunted the forum, spent hours on giggle geek, waffled back and forth, drove my family nuts asking their opinions, printed out photos, compared prices, and generally made a nuisance of myself before I finally ordered my first doll. And I have to admit that price was a big factor. After I ordered her, I worried that I wouldn't like her. But when she arrived (an AOD Wang Zi), she was just right. I liked her so much that I ordered a guy to keep her company! He didn't require nearly the soul searching, and price wasn't my first consideration.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first? I first found him looking up good beginner dolls, after talking to a few people, they told me I should just buy a doll that I liked. By that time I had completely fell in love with pictures of him.

Did you get unhappy with your choice? Do you wish / did you wish that you've ordered another one? Nope, I had quite a bit of trouble with him though, it took me hours to properly string him and to paint his face. After it was all said and done I looked down and him a cried, he was so perfect.

She (Aurora) had the face, and the look that just pulled me in. There was no way I was getting any other doll before her.

The first time I saw her, really. But I wasn't quite sure until I took the time to think it over.

i loved the size and general cuteness of Latis, but my bar none favourite sculpt was LTF Ante, so I was trying to decide whether i would rather have a LTF ante or a Lati as my first BJD when I discovered Fairyland had just realeased Pukifees! I saw Pukifee Ante and I knew she was the one!

And when did you know that this doll should be your first?
As soon as I saw her i knew if I could have one BJD in the world it would be her. The event they had going on at the time combined with that knowledge made me feel very confident about bringing her home.

nope. She's still new so hopefully that will never change either. I was worried that the white skin might be too white, but I now know that i am a WS kind of girl! She is perfection in my eyes.

Pukifee Ante. She is my first and still my only as I'm waiting for the arrival of the newcomers.

i actually picked a Narae female first, I liked the size of the 43cms and the expressions. I wanted the doll to look gorgeous and real. But one day I was browsing other sites and I came across my future doll! I wasn't looking to swap dolls. But there she was, my perfect BJD, and I knew she was the one. Now I'm preparing to order her THIS WEEK.

 

How did YOU decide which doll should be your first? I spent a lot of time browsing around, until I finally found Bobobie. Their dolls are gorgeous! And it helped that they were so affordable because it helped me justify me buying one to my parents.
And when did you know that this doll should be your first? I wasn't sure whether I wanted a BBB as my first -I was currently in love with DOD Twing-key but wanted an SD Size first- but then I saw an owner's pic of Apollo. I *knew* he had to be my first. He was perfect for me.

He still brings a big smile to my face every time I look at him. I honestly wouldn't change my decision even if I could have swapped him for a SOOM Monthly Doll or a DOD. I love him so much. =3
