1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Company Body Blushing? Is it Worth It?

Dec 2, 2013

    1. I said I';d never get company body blushing and then my bf got a Soom Hyperon with it. He's stunning. I would now consider it but only with research into the way they blush.

    2. Personally I wouldn't pay for company blushing. At least never that much.
I like to keep my dolls blushed and I like the extra protection against staining and scratching that the sealant gives, but it is seriously quite easy to do for yourself. I redo my dolls every now and then, but usually some minor chipping or fading isn't going to be very noticeable unless you use very vibrant or contrasting colors for the blush.
Just use common sense and avoid putting dense hot pink shading right over the joints and that kind of thing and you will be fine.

Also, you don't have to redo the whole thing just because you get some wear at the nipples or other protruding parts. There is no need to wipe the whole doll. Just redo the piece of the doll where the chipping is. It's easily done and relatively quick. Unlike faceups, body blushing usually needs just one or two layers.

    3. The only thing I really like blushed on my dolls are their nipples and their naughty bits, which are easy enough to blush on your own for much cheaper than the whole hog from the company.

If you're not sure, see if you can find pics of owners who have gotten the company blushing and see if you like the results.

    4. I just ordered a doll with body blushing from Luts. The photos of it just look so beautiful. I think even if it wears away a little, it will have a cool antique sort of weathered look. My doll I have now spends a lot of time with no clothes on because I'm trying to sew stuff onto her, and her nipples look so weird with no blushing, like her body is made of plastic. It even looks a little like she is wearing fake tan on her face because of the contrast.

I'm hoping the blushing does a good job on the hands/fingernails, because that is certainly going to show up in photos. I also wish I was brave enough to do my current dolls nails... someday I suppose

    5. For me, company body blushing is not worth getting. Not because it's not gorgeous, but because I'm not willing to pay to have my doll sanded (since I can do it much more cheaply myself). To me, there's no point getting blushing (which makes a doll look more realistic) if the blushing will be done on top of unsanded seams (which destroy any illusion of realism, in my opinion).

    6. Would luts sand the seams before doing the blushing? I agree the would be annoying to have it done over the seams...

    7. I was thinking about this myself recently and I don't think I would want my doll's body to be blushed. I haven't bought any resin dolls (yet) but I think I will avoid body blushing in the future especially since I tend to handle and change the pose of my dolls quite frequently.
