Contentious doll names - gods and so on.

CuteKitty I fail to see HOW this statement "I think that naming your doll after a literary/cinematic character, hero, or god is just kind of cliche and unoriginal" can possibly be anything BUT offensive to someone whose doll name fits in one of those categories. Just me.

 

first it's just doll name : they are not real people so they can assume all the strange name we can give to them
I'm not offensed by any names : religious included
If I had to be a religious people : I assume that religion is acceptance so any name will be ok

 

I like that.

a name is is just that, a name. Even from religious context, I don't really find a name in itself offensive. I wouldn't be insulted personally by a kids name, so a doll name wouldn't really be an different to me.
