1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Converting and introducing people to dolls

Dec 11, 2004

    1. My best friend and I had been oogling BJDs for a very long time and neither of us knew what the other was up to. XD She only came clean about it after I had bought Arioc and told me which ones she's saving up for. Her family's had financial trouble in the past, so I've decided that after I get my DoT Sha, I'm pulling my funds together and getting her the BF Niky that she wants. ^-^ She's done so much for me, so I think she deserves that much.

So I know exactly how you feel - there's plenty of things you can do to help your friends along the way, from linking them to DoA or giving them pointers on how to save up for their own dears. ^^ I wish them both lots of luck.

    2. My best friend ordered her first doll during the same order as mine. I paid for her shipping. I also bought my other best friend a 27cm dollfie with eyes and a wig (ha ha, gateway drug). I got my sister into BJDs and helped her assemble/face-up her first doll.

    3. I got my friends into Bjd's as well, two of them (they are twin sisters) fell for Volks LE so one sister was nice enough to loan her twin money for a Heath.
We help each other out when wanting a new doll ^^ The way we help is ($50-100) I had givin my friend my X-mes money to help her get Yder since she didnt have much she was super happy when he came home ^^
All of us are very close to each other and help one another to get our dollies XD

    4. My mother was missing me, as I recently moved rather far away from home. So instead of selling my DT Triste when she wasn't working for me, I sent her to my mother. She named her Gaia and loves her so much now. ^___^

I also gave my little sister a DOD Yen. She'll get it on her birthday and I have no idea what she'll think of it. But I wanted to share the hobby that I love so much.

    5. I have a friend who really loves them too, but unfortunately she has a crappy job and doesn't make enough money to save for a doll right now since she's currently paying off a new laptop (which she sorely needed...) along with her regular bills. So when I go to work on the oil rigs this fall and am making mad cash I plan to buy her either an Elfdoll Soah or a CP DES Vampire as a Christmas present.

    6. That's exactly what I'm doing when I move off! I'm buying my mom a cutie delf mary and a big-screen TV.

    7. I wish I could get my friends into it XD the ones who have seen pictures of my doll think shes pretty, but don't seem interested at all in the dolls besides that....yet....*evil laugh*
well, maybe one day. Maybe I should just go all out and force the BJD encyclopedia on one of them or something.

    8. I'm in the same boat as you. No one of my friends is into collecting BJD's. A couple of my friends think they are really beautiful but just aren't into dolls. So, it's funny that the people I did get into it are the designers who work for me. To top it all off, they are all guys. One of them is even going to make his own BJD.

    9. my friends who got me into bjds are paying for Isazu's shipping, doing his faceup and donating his first suit of clothes. they're awesome friends :love

    10. asphy_xiaton: 4 years? O_O omg, I'm so lucky... @_@ And I don't think that you're a bad friend~ ^^ There's more in a friendship than buying each other an expensive doll.

MiLK: O_O; woha, everybody here is so nice~ *complexes* Yay, a real friend who is interestet in BJDs would be great, I think. Mh... good luck? o_q~

EDIT: omg, I didn't noticed that there were so many posts! O_O; *tries to answer to every post* ahahahaa~

TatsuKitty: good Idea, I think I will do it that way, thx~ ^____^

Miisha: Kewl, so you've got an Real Life-Dolly-Friend =D

Kokoro Daisuke: That's nice Q____Q~ And yes, that's the way I feel ^_^ I'm thinkin' about buying them a very small doll >_>; That's a little stingy, I know but... they are two.

Childsmall: Wow T___T Helping people so much... you're really nice T_T

Crescent_P: I can imagine the happyness. =D A friendship, which is so big is really great~ ^___^

Vermaxen: How cute, it's nice to hear about something like this ^__^~

Arafel: That will be a very nice christmas present~ ^_^

Mabbit: XD Good luck! =3 Getting my friends into dolls was unbelievable easy... they always loves dolls. But good luck again x"3

ArcaneMuse: Pople, who work for you? O_O And huys? Oh my~ @__@ That's funny, yes.

Bugland: =D If they've done this, I'm sure they are x3 Congrats

    11. My bestfriend actually got me into BJD's.I managed to save up and get 2 DoC's,but she still couldn't afford a Soah.Eventally I decided to sell my dolls because we hadn't seen eachother for a year and a half.(I use to live in America, but I had to move back to England) So I got plane tickets and visited her for 3 months. Now we're both gonna be trying to save up for our own BJD's....I wish I could help her more, but it would take a while..@_____@

    12. My friend got me into BJD's, and she has wicked mad cash/parental support to buy the dolls she wants, whereas I, dont. She's been really sweet and supportive, and she lets me hold her SDC Kaede and DOC Wi all the time to make me feel better. I've been working like crazy (I make minimum wage- I'm a lifegaurd) To save up doll money and whenever I get discouraged because I don't have the cash I go sew something- I figure if I get good enough the only things I'll have to spend money on are dolls & eyes.

Even though she has more doll money than me I'm greatful to her to introducing them to me- I'd rather know they existed and not have the money than go back to my previous, boring, doll-less life LOL

    13. I have friends who have slightly been sucked in, not enough to buy one...yet *evil grin* I will be the death to my friend's bank accounts!!!

    14. Most of my friends are really interested in my dolls, but I've only hooked one (so far) enough to want to buy one. I can't really afford to help her out all that much, but I figure between now and when she gets her doll, whatever I would have spent on a gift for her (birthday, Christmas, ect...) I'm just gonna go ahead and give her in cash to put toward her doll fund. It's not a lot but every little bit helps right?

    15. I know two people who have gotten hooked because of me (one directly, one because I hooked my roommate who got her hooked) that can't afford a doll. My friends and I are all planning to help them out. I figure if we can all chip in 10-$20, we should at least be able to pay for half ^^

    16. It's so nice to read that so many of you are doing everything you can to help your friends bring home dolls! I spent 6 hours on the phone last night with my friend who I managed to get hooked on bjds and we talked about the ways that she could make money to buy one. Her birthday is coming up soon, so I hope to be able to send her some money to go towards it. I was going to surprise her with a doll for Christmas once I start working, but I don't think she's going to wait that long! I might surprise her with a second one though ;)

    17. Mad_Hatter: Good luck with saving =D!

Kalee: Yay mh... you're courageous, did you know that. GOOOOO~OD LUCK!

      Starfruit: EVIL O_O XD

SharonFish: Yes, every little bit. =3 Your friends can be glad~

Kyon: For half is good, isn't it? =D I think for half is a lot, too. :whee:

Arafel: =D! It's nice to read about your efforts, too. :whee: (Ah... PS: I'd love to see your dolly, when she's home~ ^___^ *waiting for soo, too* )

    18. I have two friends who got sucked in because of me (partly even before I got my doll).

One of them doesn't know that the Metel I'm getting is a gift for her... I can't sew and so she does it for me, making both Sakiyo's clothes and my costumes. The Metel is going to be a gift from me as thanks for all the times she's helped me out.

    19. How nice Q___Q I'm sure that she will be very happy~ ^____^ :aheartbea

    20. Ohh, you're waiting for a Soo too? *dances around* She's so pretty!
My Soo shipped today! Luts said that they expect her to arrive here on the 27/28th! I can't wait! I think it must have been the quickest shipping ever... I just ordered her Sunday! (no face up, that's probably why)
