1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Converting and introducing people to dolls

Dec 11, 2004

    1. I've liked BJD's for about 2 years now.
And since then, I've gotten 3 people into them

At first I didn't tell anyone about them.
Now that I know LOADS more, and I'm seriously saving for one, I've told tons.

I got my friends Larissa, Jen, and Toni into them.

Jen is the only one who's PROBABLY going to get one.
She's 12 also, and has a hard time convincing her parents.
      larissa nd Toni..i'm not sure.

So, have you ever gotten any others into dolls?

    2. I've been interested in ABJDs for about four or five years now. I really started wanting one desperately last year (after many numerous failed attempts at saving for one due to bills etc.). I introduced these dolls to three of my good friends. Two of them have gone on to find out more about them for themselves but I think only one will end up buying one. (If she can remember to stay focused on saving.) x __ x;

    3. I've had my doll for 3 weeks, and now my boyfriend is planning one of his own :)

    4. I've managed to turn four people to the dark side. >3

    5. hahaha >3

      all my friends...are.
      not too fond of dolls.
they think they're/I'm weird but whatev :|

    6. No, not a soul. My parents think it's cute, but otherwise not a whole lot of people know I even have one.

    7. yup!

one of my net friends from an artdoll group, we got talking about dolls on there , I posted some pics and her and I got emailing...and she just received her first a Souldoll Sooah.

    8. I have, I've gotten a couple people into them. But I've also turned other people onto other dolls I've collected before. When I was little I used to consider it copying now I'm thrilled when my friends show and interest in wanting to buy a doll like I have.

    9. well second my roomie gets a job she's getting a hound and a bella auden, I also have a photographer friend who's wanting one as well

    10. :( No I wish I did know someone that loved dolls though, Then I'd have someone to go to the doll meets with when I get my doll. *sigh* but alas, no one understands.

    11. It spreads like a virus! I never convinced anyone, but I've influenced about 4 or 5 people wanting to seriously buy a doll and a few others to consider it (being as I talk about BJDs so much) and nearly all my friends are doll people now. o_o; It's funny though because most of them want to get the same dolls (DODs).

    12. Yeah. xD When I was telling my friend that I was saving for a doll she lost her mind, then I should her some of the Luts site and thought they were beautiful.

    13. I totally got my friend Kat hooked on BJDs, too bad she probably wont be able to get one. ;___;

Ah, spread the BJD love. =3=

    14. so far my list is my husband and 2.5 friends

    15. My boyfriend made himself a father figure to my Michiko, but at this years BJD panel at AX, it inspired him to want to get his own x3 YAY!

Oh and about 3 or so friends from school. ^^

    16. Ones of my friends recently started leaning towards the "Dark Side" herself (and my mom too ::evil cackle:: she wants my sisters Wooyan!)after I got my Lishe and it got worse after I got my SwD Mimi completed...now I think she might get a MnF Lishe!!!!!WooHoo!!!!!Now I got her hooked on bjds and Pinky Street figures!sweeeeeeeeeeet.;)

    17. After I got Ryu, my friend Chrissy started wanting one, now she's already eyeing three, a DIM Belita, Volks Link, and a Luts doll, I forgot what model.
And now my friend Sandra wants one, but she's kind of poor, so she might have to buy a very small one.
And I got my friend Squee into dollfies too. xD Now I'm also infecting my friend Laura.
I will make all my friends get one! >:]

    18. I did the same thing, but it was on purpose. So far, I've lured two of my friends into this expensive fandom. And I don't feel guilty. Cause, I figure..if my paycheck is gonna scream in agony..my friends should suffer with me.

Actually. I forgot about two other friends. One wants an msd-sized one. And the other, I'm not sure. But I think she's interested. I refuse to be the only one in my group to want to own more the four dolls. -_- I will not suffer alone.

    19. My little sister already liked BJDs, but she never seemed too interested in buying one... until I showed her some pictures of Hound. She fell in love of course, and wants to get him someday. Victory!

Also, in my pre-doll-owning days I would always rant about how cool they are to a friend of mine. Again, she thought BJDs were just some nifty little concept, and not much more than that. But when I got my first doll and showed him to her, she finally got how cool they truly are. Now she wants a mini. Victory number two!!

    20. I showed many people them.
I've gotten 4 people to like them
only 2 to be serious...MAYBE three.

My sister (she's 8 ) is getting a Cutie Delf CORY soon
and my friend Jen is trying to convince her mum to get one
and Larissa...i'm not sure about her.

and I know Toni won't get one, if she does...meh

But yea. I'm glad I've gotten people to like them ^^
