1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Coronavirus concerns mega-thread

Jan 21, 2020

    1. Has anyone heard anything from companies about delays or their working status? I haven't heard anything, so far...

    2. @april It seems to depend on the company :(

I currently have a layaway order with Legend Doll for a doll that I've been paying off since November. I sent my last payment a week ago with a previous one being sent end of Jan, neither of which got a confirmed receipt of payment. The last time I got an email response was 3 days after my Jan payment.. I'm wondering now if I should just halt my last payment until they respond to me. I'm quite sure they're halting everything because of the virus situation, but not replying while customers are still sending payment is pretty unacceptable. Has anyone had this problem with Legend Doll recently or is it just me?

    3. I've got 2 layaways going with Alice's Collections for Loongsoul dolls. I've been paying my layaways. AC has contacted me whenever I do, to say they have received it. But I haven't heard anything about delays...

I think I'd contact the company if I haven't heard anything at all--just to check that they are getting the payments, if nothing else! And maybe ask if there are any difficulties due to the virus?

But I've been getting some responses, so I figure they will tell me if there are problems--plus mine are layaways and aren't due to be sent out anytime soon. BUT it IS a bit of a worry at the back of my mind... So I totally understand others thinking about things like this.

    4. @april That's nice to hear about AC doing business as usual! I've never had a problem with them. Even some of the smaller companies on Taobao have shipped things to me post China's lockdown and their post system is definitely back up because a group order I did with some friends has been shipped out.

I'm feeling the same re the worry tbh. My last payment will only be in the next two months so I'm really not in a rush, it's just a lot of money that I've sent that hasn't been confirmed that is worrying me.

Thank you for the tip! I just contacted LD again to check in and tell them that I understand about the virus situation. Fingers crossed they'll reply to me soon...

    5. I haven’t. I’m mostly concerned about the people right now, but I also am really hoping to eventually get an update, at least to know if they are coming or not. It took forever to save up, so I really don’t want my order lost

I have! They answered my questions about sizing the day before I order A pair of boots, and then I never got a receipt or the promised confirmation email for my order. This was even before it went bad. I asked about the confirmation email two days after hearing from them and never got a reply. It took forever to save for these boots, so I’m hoping I eventually hear something.

    6. Oh, hey, that's good news for kagami, RavenNight!

Yes, there are tons more important things to worry about, but we're supposed to talk about dolls here. I'm not VERY worried about layaways, just curious to know if any companies are reporting issues. It's kind of good to know that China seems to be dealing... that the postal system isn't really closing down and companies are working. Hopefully that means good things for other countries and areas that are partially shutting down.

Also, it did cross my mind to ask if I should slow down layaway payments or speed them up because of whatever is happening. I'm glad things seem to be mostly on-track so far.

    7. @RavenNight I hope they get back to you soon as well!

My attempt to contact them just now received a response and they told me the order will be ready to ship within the month! :ablink: I guess I'll take that as confirmation of payment even if I have yet to finish my layaway with them. They also told me that they're safe and healthy over there, so that's good.

@april Yes, it's great to see that they're slowly starting to go back to normal. I was reading an article earlier saying that they're slowly opening up the country again for domestic travel, at least! Korea seems to be doing okay as well as dolls are still shipping out from there. I track the Dollshe Waiting Room thread and people are still getting shipping notifications :)

    8. @kagami the company I am having no response from is also Legend Doll. Did you send them an email or go through a Q&A on their page? I'm glad to hear they got back to you!

    9. @I<3MySD I sent them a follow up email on the previous email I sent asking them about my order and how they were doing with the virus situation. I got a reply in about 30mins!

    10. I think Legend Doll should be doing fine, since they're updating their site almost daily (and I know because I check it daily...cough).

    11. :aeyepop::aeyepop::aeyepop: /jk

Yeah Legend Doll is fine, I wanted to order an Angell Studio doll and had a question thats still in the outbox since January 22, so I ordered through Legend Doll a few days ago, got a reply and confirmation and everything.

    13. Strange, maybe I typed the email address incorrectly! It's very possible :XD: I'll try them again. Thank you all for the reassurance, and I'm glad to hear that they seem to be doing fine amidst all of this!

    14. Glad to know that they’re okay

    15. I know LUTS is doing okay, I placed my order on Feb and received my doll on March. I am also not too worry about it just like others mentioned virus cannot stay alive without a human host.

    16. Just had a box from Luts come in (accessories/shoes/etc), honestly I was way more concerned about the mailman standing less than two feet away and having to sign the pad with the same digital pen everyone was using. Brought box in, washed hands, unpacked box, disposed of box, washed hands.
I'm glad the doll companies overall seem to be doing ok, but it wouldn't stress me if things needed to take longer.

I am, slightly upset that I've seen the usual respirator parts I buy for face ups jump from $18 to $70. Reported that listing on Amazon. Nice weather out and while I've got one pair, I prefer to have a backup on hand, so no painting happening this spring.

    17. about half the students here are Chinese and many of them are fleeing back to China (from the UK) due to racist attacks and the fact that China is now safer than the UK regarding the virus too! So I'm pretty sure business will be ticking along nicely now China is recovering. My friends in China are very worried for me meanwhile. I have sewn myself a face mask (since I couldn't buy one anywhere) but I'm wary of being attacked now if I wear it!

It's normal for some Chinese companies to ignore emails so I wouldn't be too concerned - it's possible they have had to draft in new staff and maybe their English speaking secretary type person never returned from NY hols. It's quite normal in the best of times for Chinese companies to lose members of staff over the NY celebrations and need to either train or recruit new staff to replace them, so there are often some hiccups in service just because of NY, let alone in the terrible circumstances they've had to endure this year.

Meanwhile regarding deliveries I am more worried about the delivery guys in my own country transmitting the virus, since they will be inclined to keep working even when ill, because they're on zero hours contracts with no help from gov so far. if they need to pay rent etc when off sick. Something which urgently needs addressing by gov! So ATM I get rid of the outer box ASAP, having left it to detox (largely in my imagination I guess) for 24 hours unopened, then wash my hands of course. The inner boxes won't have been handled for weeks so they're no worry, and neither is the doll IMO.

    18. I heard from Alice a couple of days ago and she says everyone at AC is safe and well. :)

    19. I placed 2 orders from China just before this situation got outta control over there in early February. One was with an ebay seller for some shoes and the other was Alice's Collections. The ebay seller asked me if I wanted to cancel or wait. I said wait stupidly without thinking. I am happy to report the ebay shoes got here about 2 weeks ago. AC just emailed me to let me know they shipped a couple days ago (more shoes and miscellany).
