1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. I could never have just one, now that I have four. For me it would be like choosing between which of my children I would abandon.

    2. Haven't purchased my first one yet, but I'm already thinking she'll have to have a companion of some kind. Lately I've been interested in attempting a face-up at some time, and although I had originally thought an extra head might be a little creepy, I can now see the value in having a head to practice on. Oh, my poor budget . . . .

    3. Not yet having one, I still feel confident in saying I only want one. With only one doll, I can buy her more stuff. ^_^ But I really will be happy with just one. More than that and I'd have to choose who to travel with, I'd end up with a favorite, and I'd feel guilty. Now, if my boyfriend likes her more than he thinks he will, he might get one of his own... But it would be his doll. That would be nice, so my girl wouldn't be lonely. ^_^

    4. I sure hope your boyfriend gets his own doll so that your girl doesn't get lonely. I would feel sad for her if she's all alone when you aren't playing with her. :(
Hope you get your girl soon! :)

    5. When I got my first, I wanted more! But I do think very seriously before I purchase for a doll and this can ensure my love to them will be long lasting.........I love them all!!

    6. This is probably the best metaphor I have ever seen in my life XDD

I currently only have one.. yet my intentions are beginning to draw to another... *floats away*

    7. I've been trying to only have one, but I suspect that eventually I'll have more :|

I don't think I could choose only one if I had more than one, but if I absolutely had to I'd probably keep the first one I got.

    8. I really wanted one to start off but now I want two more! Sadly I gotta hold off on them until I'm sure I can take care of multiple dolls...I'm having a hard enough time with just one! lol

    9. Thanks! ^_^ We'll see if I can convince him once he sees how gorgeous my girl is. He might go for a smaller doll, though. Then my Juli'd have a little sister! ^__^

    10. Aww thanks! :D

I think I can subscribe to that theory... Just one...at a time hahaha

I got my first boy (Pen) in June....then the rest arrived one at a time each month - Sept (Floyd), Oct (Lex), Nov (Jackie), Dec (Tegan) hahaha. So really I TRIED to just have one... but it didn't last long...like the time I tried to go vegetarian haha

    11. I tried the whole "one doll" thing 18 dolls ago. Didn't work out so well. :P

    12. My first doll should be arriving sometime later this month, and I definitely entered this as a "one doll" owner. My girl is all that I intended on having.
Yeah. I tried telling myself that as I looked at others her size and thought "Maybe a companion would be nice..." I tried telling myself that as I already decided which one I would want and who he would be and...
Psh. I should have learned a long time ago with Lays... I can't have just one!!!
We'll see how long being a "one doll owner" lasts...

    13. roflol that was the best analogy ever!

I thought I could just have one too... well not really, I always wanted a Kalix from dod even though I got a Ducan instead, but now I have a head on the way too, and I'm thinking about getting a luts ani, and some others.

If I had to choose? Idk, nobody is home yet. :(

    14. I am a doll lover and collector for many years now and knew immediately that I would never be able to own just one. I am in love with so many and I want to have a nice sized BJD family. The question for me is at what number will I be satisfied with! XD

    15. Not even having my first doll at the moment, I think I would like to have only one at a time. It always confused me, to concentrate on many subjects at the same time. I prefer to care for one thing very intensive.
      But time will tell... ;-)

    16. i may not have my first doll yet, but i know that i could never have just one. i'll probably end up with like ten, knowing me. but hey my dollies would have lots of company when i have to leave them alone.

    17. I was so like that with the very first doll, but before he went to shipping, I was already purchasing a second. I'm on my 11th doll since August, it's a sick unhealthy obsession that I can't cure myself of.

    18. I have one right now, but I saving for her sister right now and her sister's grandson. XD; Skipping through the family tree.

I would like the entire tree for a giant group photo, just because I love large families and I am sure that they want to be with their favorites sisters and brothers and cousins and aunts and uncles. x3

    19. No... i couldn't. Lol. I tried, and failed. And then I felt guilty for having so many dolls so I sold some to get down to one again.. .and immediately a bunch more followed me home. So no, definitely not. They breed like rabbits I swear ;)

    20. >_>........No. :XD:
