Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

I just can't have 1 BJD.. I don't really have one favourite, I have about 3 that I love more than others at this moment, but that changes quite often. Secondly, I just can't sell/put away any others because they are all related to eachother. For example, Yelena is one of my favourites, but Ivan is her boyfriend and incoming Skittles is her younger sister. They belong to eachother.

There is one doll out there I really want though... and sadly its just a modded one of a kind that belongs to a sites photographer x.x

If I could/had too choose I wouldn't change from the one I already have lol but then again thats what I say now xD

 

I don't have a BJD yet and had planned just to get one, somehow I've ended up with two on layaway... it's just far too easy to fall in love with the various dolls out there.

I'd at least want 2 out of my BJDs minimum if not thre... xD. If I could only afford to keep one though because of a major problem or another then sure, I'd keep one then. But voluntarily? Nope.

 

Had he come first I could be happy with just Xavier my Dollzone Fei but he came second and because of him I got the twins. Even if I hadn't got the first one and still ended up with the twins X would have needed a friend his size and I would have got his wife or the other mini who was the first I lusted after and some tinies...

So no, I could never have had one unless I really didn't like dolls and that's not gonna happen.

Back two years ago when I first got into this hobby, I knew that I wouldn't be able to keep it to just one, and planned to have 3 (2 guys and a girl)...

Well, that plan changed and my total has moved up to realistically keep it at 7 (6 guys and my one girl), but will possibly push it to 10 if I can find moulds for certain characters.

I don't think I'd be able to just have one doll, and I certainly wouldn't be able to pick just one of my current group as one that I needed to keep.

 

I've just recieved my first doll earlier this month, but I do have two others planned. One will be a long-term project because of all the customization and modding he'll need... These dolls are just so beautiful and great creative outlets, I don't think I'd ever be able to have just one.

And if I had to chose? I'm sure I'll be able to come back to this thread in time with a decision...but for now. I don't have one. ^^

 

Ive recently ordered my 2nd doll (my DOD Camine) and now find myself with the dilema of t elf sha floating head.

I am trying my very best to stay away from DOD's site for fear ill hit the buy button just to buy a body for the head (which i even got a faceup on just to torment myself further) obviously if i buy one now ill prob get another event head and then im in double trouble so ill keep myself away until the year and my boy arriving to see how i feel but the tempatation................................. AHAHHAAHAHAHAHH

also i think if i had to choose then i would choose my Ducan to be my one and only as he still makes me go SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and i utterly adore him more than any other doll. I love the camine but he does not make me feel the way my ducan does over him ^_^

 

I could live with only my Camilla - I prefer big dolls and girls, and she's the only one that fits that. I wouldn't want to, though - I'm very strongly attached to most of my other dolls

 

I don't know who the heck I'd pick--I have a lot of guys and girls that are very different from each other and I love them all for different reasons. Sometimes I might be in the mood to play with one particular doll, and other times I find myself wanting to spend time with someone else. I also like having several dolls from the same story lines--the character interaction is a lot of fun (this is also one of the main reasons I ended up with so many dolls).

 

I haven't even bought my first doll yet. I'm only planning one right now, since I know to get her just the way I want is going to take a while...but I've found at least 2 others that I really really like in the process, so who knows XD

 

I never planned on just one. I like the idea of a male and female. Of course I didn't plan to get them so close together. Whether I get more is up for debate. Though I really do like the puki's. For the moment though, he isn't home yet, she is. So I think I'll stick with the pair for now.

When buying your first doll; was anyone trapped between getting your favourite FEMALE doll or favourite MALE doll? xD;

 

I could do it, but it would be reeeeeally hard for me to have just one. I'm the kind of person who likes a wide variety of dolls.

I have 6 that are my core dolls, my favorites. All the rest I love, but if I had to sell them in an emergency I could do it. But there's one among the 6 favorites that stands out, and that's my first doll, Cecilia my DoC Pitts.

Right now, there is only one doll that I WANT. I don't see myself getting a new one anytime soon (but someday i plan on having three). It's just way too expensive and I'd rather use my money to visit my faraway friends then on a doll. Sure they are pretty, but I can wait to have more "pretty" things if it means time with friends. ;o;

 

I always said I'd have just one, and that was Takaya, my DZ Yuu. At 70cm I thought he was enough doll for me. Then came Kotori, the LatiBlue Yern that just sort of snuck right in. I was very sure that I was not going to get a girl ever. So with the two of them I thought I was good once again, now I am waiting for a DZ Wing2. My justification, Takaya looked lonely. So three is good. Wrong again, because when I saw this absolutely amazing Vampire Lu-Wen head in the marketplace, I bought him and now I'm waiting on a body. And I can honestly say in 2009 I have two more planned.

It's like chips, even though you only intend to eat just one, at the end of the day your holding an empty bag.

If I had to choose one of mine to keep on his own it would be my Iplehouse SooRi, Yvain: I love him to bits, he's like an old friend who's always there .

 

Ironically yes i could, i won't say WHICH one of my dolls i'd chose over the others but there is a favourite. I could sell the rest off and not regret it, but that one.. no that one is too special to me.

 

I think it's almost impossible for most of us to only successfully own one doll. Because a lot of us would probably get more if we had the money. Successfully owning only one BJD means not desiring any other doll besides that one that you own. It isn't just not getting one because you can't afford it, because you would if you could.

As most of us are, I don't think it's possible. That's why we have wish lists.
