1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. *Looks at her two SD girls sitting infront of her, her box of tinies, and the pay slip for her incoming SD boy* ..Nope.

    2. Theres no way I can select one doll. No way!! But yeah it is possible for people just to own ONE doll. I didn't get my second doll till almost a year later. I had a lot of fun with my first doll but you can do a heck of a lot more with multiple dolls so I think it would be boring after a while. And... I was trying to answer your question about if I had to choose just one doll. I CAN'T!!

    3. *looks at the horde of four already, the payment receipt from DOD for another shipping soon, and the wishlist of thirty and counting* I highly doubt it. ^_^;;; And somewhere in all the doll funds, a DSLR is going to have to be bought. My little point and shoot is loosing quality for macro now... -_-;;;

    4. When I was looking at my first BJD I thought she would be the only one...But I already have two and a third one is appealing me !
      So I can't, definitely !

    5. I think I could, if that one doll was Beryl. If it come to that that I'd have to sell all of my other dolls to get a Beryl, my dream girl, I would be sad but I still would do that. That doll has become some kind of an obsession to me, I'll love her to pieces when hopefully someday I'll find one for me. :)

    6. nope, I love them all too much! besides, that one doll would be lonely without their very large and extended family XD

    7. I'm actually trying to use that mindset of One Doll ONLY to make the decision of what doll will be my first. That and I'm certain that he will be my only doll at least until I finish school, which won't be for about another decade!

    8. Sigh I thought that I would only get one, that i just 'needed' to get one and that was my DZ X I love my little Dominick (Nicky) but then Aya his boyfriend was upset that Nicky got to be a doll so I was like ok just two and well heehee I just ordered my third from b & g so i guess the answer for me is um no i can't just keep just one cause they gets lonely.

    9. I prefer to have one. I do not have the attention or dedication to give to more than one. I actually put up all my other dolls for sale so I can have just one, and not for monetary reasons, I like to buy clothes and stuff for my girl too much, and though I have had more than one at the same time in the past, I always ignored all but one. I do not count animal BJDs in this - not anthro, but full animal. Cause I do want a Companion and a Wong, but they are for my girl still...

    10. I'm sure I could have just one but I don't feel like I need to. I didn't enter the hobby with the idea of any particular limit on the dolls I would own. I figured I would buy as many or as few as I was interested in and could afford. If I absolutely had to cut down to just one doll I have no idea how I would choose. Sure there are a couple I could part with more easily simply because I know I could buy them again in the future easily enough (non limited dolls that are super easy to come buy like my DZ's) or because I'm not quite as attached to their characters, but there are several that I wouldn't want to part with even if I could easily replace them later. But ultimately since Kisten is my only "limited" doll he would have to be the one I kept. I'm very attached to him and it would be hard for me to be without him.

    11. Oh, heck no. The day after my first doll was home, I ordered the second one, 'cause she needed a friend.

    12. never!
i cant have only Aiden hes too small. i really want an SD but i couldnt get rid of Aiden! D: hes awesome anyway!
also, i would need at least 1 girl to wear pretty dresses and sexy underwear >3<

    13. I have a friend who has 40.
In May I still thought she was stark raving mad.
Now it's October and I'm not so sure anymore....

    14. I have to admit that when I started this thread I was still really green
in the hobby and had no idea just how many similar threads there were
about only owning one doll!!! I currently have 12 BJD's (I think..?) 4 on
the way and more heads/faceplates than I care to count. There's no way
that I could choose just one of my dolls to keep or save if needed, but it's
nice that I'm not alone at least! Thank you everyone for your comments XD

    15. Oh god, even though I've never owned more than one BJD I'm pretty sure it'd be impossible to stop at just one, at least in my case. Mentally I'm already planning so many photoshoots that could involve multiple dolls. As long as I'm somehow able to obtain funds x'D

    16. I successfully own a single ball-jointed doll. Lyle is all I need, but I won't lie and say I've never looked at other dolls, haha! This hobby is too addictive!!

    17. 2 years ago I thought I could... I failed.
Right now I'm seriously planning to buy my 4th doll.

    18. I thought I'd only ever have two at the most. However, now I can't seem to get below eight no matter how hard I try. :sweat

    19. I have *whispers so her husband doesn't hear* over forty. I won't count them because honestly I don't want to know. But there are times I wish I had stuck with just one, or two or three. I have too many. The problem is I love them all and can't imagine getting rid of any of them. They all live in the Doll House- a little 6' x 12' construction office. I rotate them into the house in little groups. But if I had to keep just one- it would still be my very first doll, my Obitsu Gretel. She will always be my favorite, no matter how many more expensive, prettier, etc. dolls I get.

    20. Oh, that would be a no. Tinies are just too evil. They multiply like jackrabbits when you aren't looking. *_*
