1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

1. When I first got into the hobby, I thought I was only going to own one. But ended up owning many, I at one point in time got up to 11 dolls!:aeyepop: but then shrunk the number.

2. I fully intend on getting just one doll...maybe two, lol. Seriously, I don't have space or money for a big collection, I don't understand how people afford to have so many!

3. at one point, i thought i'd only go for one.. and then that idea quickly went out the window after i went to my first meet-up and realized how much i adore the larger dolls. also, while i usually only ever take photos of one of my dolls at a time [because none of the characters are really connected with one another..], i find that interaction can sometimes make for much more interesting photography, imho. tl;dr - i love my first doll to death but no, i couldn't have just him. gah.

4. Even at the very beginning, I never planned on just one - the romantic in me demanded at least two, so that my first could have a companion. Then it all flew out the window as companies released more dolls I liked. ...Honestly, I wish I'd kept to the "just two" idea, but it'd never happen at this point - I am far too attached to some of them now. Plus there's no driving reason for me to whiddle my collection down.

5. I failed in this a while ago, I have four now. >.<
I like all of mine to have companions if possible, and I like for all mine to have their special someone - make that another romantic =D
I dont seem to have a thing for certain companies either,
since all mine are from different companies, and all different sizes =)

6. My first thought was to only get one, and he is on his way now! But then I found some other sculpts that I really liked, so I made plans for them to eventually be bought. Not yet though. But maybe in a year or so, when my boy is starting to feel lonely. XD;

7. No.

No, seriously, I never intended to limit it to one. It may be the collector mentality, but for whatever reason I'd feel weird just owning one. Also, they're fun when they interact with each other.

8. Have to echo the sentiment of 'Never ever expected to own only one'.

I just never realized how MANY I was going to end up wanting. O.O

9. I tried.. So hard.. but almost less than a month after getting my Iple E.I.D.. I got a limited Cherish :/ And of course I want more.. SO MUCH MORE! Can we say, pringles!?

10. I think for me, yes only one BJD will do. Lolx~ I'm happy and I love my boy very much. ♥

11. Even originally I had not planned on owning only one doll.

I don't think that since being in this hobby I have owned just one doll at a time. Mind you at times those dolls may have only been heads, but still! When I bought my first doll, a DoC Si, before he'd even arrived I'd bought a Luts Nanuri head and his body. I think that for a lot of people there are just too many pretties out there to only bring one home.

12. Good god, if I had to choose one doll? *looks around*...

No, definitly my Hound. Was my first doll, no longer made, and is gorgeous :D

13. I'm only planning on having one dolly, since I don't think I can possibly share equal time with more than one and I'd rather dedicate all my love to just one doll, no matter how much I may love another mold. Perhaps in the future I might get one more, but otherwise, for now I'm satisfied with just my one c:

14. I didn't plan having one or more, at first I just chose him. But, as he was about to be delivered, my brain both started to swarm with ideas and there came the tought he would be all by himself...
Funny thing. I never make character dolls that don't interact between themselves. @-@ I have a strong idea about them being lonelly....
And I'm far too adicted to possibly chose a single doll, even hipotetically

15. That's a great question. I, too bought my first doll expecting her to be my one and only. I made sure she was my ideal doll. Then my husband and daughter got addicted and they each have one. Also when I got my doll, she developed a story, and other characters started popping up in my mind. I plan to make at least two of them.
Arlette is still my only doll, and I could be happy if it stayed that way. She might stay my only doll for a long while, I stay busy sewing and making things. I don't think I could ever get bored.
This is her:

16. I believe I could only have one doll, but I grew obsessed with the idea of having a boyfriend for her so the hunt for the perfect man began. :) Now, for only having one wig or one pair of eyes, forget about it. That's my favorite splurge.

17. The most dolls I had at any one time was 25, and I am glad that I have whittled that number down a bit. In a way, I wish I only had one. For me, something about having more than one seems to encourage me to get even more, and the result is I have a lot of lovely dolls that I never seem to play with. :(

I love my dolls, though, and over the years I have cultivated an elite core group of dolls that I could never be without. :) Even if I left the hobby forever, these 4 dolls would stay with me for life.

18. I have 3 SD dolls (well 5, but I don't count the msds because I'm planning on selling). 1 is a girl and the other 2 are boys. If I was ever desperate for money I would be able to sell 1 of the boys, but I would never be able to let go of 2 of them. So no, I can't have just one.

19. I have my first 2 BJD, my Lati Green and Pipose Kitty, but I may want a Lati Yellow as a little sister for my Lati Green. I think she "needs" one.:)

20. I thought I could be able to have just one and I did own only one for quite a long time but there are always new ones attracking my eyes. Now I have 3 and the 4th coming soon.If I had to down size one day,I would like to keep at least 2.
