1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. I was torn between T. Shall and Sha... ... n.n... and Delphine. XDDDDD
BUT I decided to stick to my guns and buy who I was originally saving up for! D<

    2. Yes I definitely could. I don't have just one BJD but if I had narrow it down to only one I could do it, I would actually prefer just one doll. I'm not really sure why I have 3 right now...

    3. I'd probably choose a 60cm CP/Luts Shiwoo. SMEXY, with just a hint of mischievousness and boyishness, yet most definitely adult, at least in my eyes!:D:);)

When I got into this "Lifestyle" I had already planned on getting Nittle Grasper from 'Gravitation' [Ryuichi, Tohma and Noriko] so that meant 3 BJDs right from the start. Then I decided that I needed them in their teens, twenties, and thirties [the ages they are in the anime/manga.]

And then I decided to get their ultimate fanboy, Tatsuha, so that meant a forth one in the twenties and thirties groups.

      I'm doomed.;)

      Ryuichi

    4. I don't think I could. I love my dollies and I couldn't choose just one.

    5. I have one boy right now and I'm very content. I'd like a Hound one day but I'm in no hurry. I am new to the hobby and just got my first about three weeks ago so I'm having fun learning about his 'personality'. I couldn't see having anymore than two SD boys and maybe a tiny due to space, money etc., etc.

    6. well im just sticking with one doll so i can spoil my little boy all i want!

    7. I did say only one..... but now I have 3 with 2 on their way... in less then a year x.x but one thing I realised is that I do not want to have too many. one reason is space wise and second is attention wise. I do not think I could care for all of them. With my 2 doll on the way I am thinking of letting go one of the doll I have right now because I haven't given him enought attention =(

    8. It would be so hard to choose just one of my dolls! I'm currently selling about 2/3 of my collection, I just don't have the space or the energy to keep up with it. Out of the 10 that I am keeping, I guess if I could only keep one it would have to be my brown-eyed CP Soony (I have 3 Soonys though). But I would really miss my other dolls :( Thankfully, I don't have to choose just one! But here is a pic of her in an outfit I made a while back:

    9. I probably could have just one - and in fact, did, for several months.

Until the little minx decided she wanted company. *_*

    10. Well.. I doesn't have even one doll (but I finally have enough money for one and I'm going to settle in my order soon), but I already have plans for at least three dolls. I couldn't have just one doll, 'cause it's not so easy to make photostories of just one doll. Plus, my doll wouldn't live without relationships to other dolls!
So, I'm going to have more than one doll for sure. But people with just one are fine to me. At least they have thousands of time and love gift to their just one beloved one.

    11. I'm trying-- first one's not even here yet.

      Must-- resist-- temptation!

    12. I COULD have just one, but I wouldn't be very happy about it. :sweat

    13. I could own one... until I get more money or the urge to save my money.

    14. No.. That's what I thought on the first purchase.. but couldn't do it. Had to have more than one. I have been good though only 7 dolls are mine over the last 6 years I have been involved in the hobby.

    15. Thanks for the picture;) She's lovely and so it the outfit you made!

    16. When i first came across BJDs it never crossed my mind to just have one.
I am too obsessive and when these wonderful dears came into my life i knew that there would be more and more and more stumbling in.
When i ordered my first, i immediately asked everyone i knew to get them for me for christmas. And my parents did and my best friend did. So now i have 3(awaiting 2 in the mail). And i have 1 more on layaway.
I am already saving for 3 more and planning to get at least 20 in my families(my dolls are seperated into 2 families because of their characters)(Also i have their personalities before i have the doll).

They are all special and every dollie should have a special home. And i feel like the bigger the family, the more the love.

      :)

    17. I am a pack rat with a million "wants", so I could never just have one.

I am more like the "I see one, I want one, I buy one" that type of person (action repeats a few times within the year)

I think my insanity shows once you see my crew and I have only been in the hobby for almost 2 years.

If I really must down size, I guess I can get away with keeping 10..... but that is about it; I went thru a lot to get some of the members in my crew, it would really pain me to have to part with them.

    18. I didn't answer before the "which one would you keep if you could have only one" question - and I just figured out why. If I knew that I could only ever have just one (I can't imagine why - a new law?) it actually WOULDN'T be the one I have, OR any of the ones on my current wishlist! I love the one I have and all the ones I'm planning to buy - but they're all a crew and belong together, and they're all minis.

If I could only ever have one and never get another, it wouldn't be a mini or one of the crew at all - it'd be a Ducan, the doll I first saw that made me look deeper into this hobby. I'm positive that at some point I will get one, but since he doesn't fit into the crew he's on the "maybe someday" list for now. But if I had to choose just one to own ever, he'd be it.

    19. I've had the same problem, I printed out pictures of dolls I fell in love with on
flickr. And even though I could get the same mould...I think it's the essence of that
      doll. (including the custom faceup!)

That's so true, there are so many lovely dolls...I'm constantly hearing
about new (to me) companies. *drool* It's hard to resist even just peeking.

lol I've been hearing so many mention DOD, and I resisted looking (yay me!)
until taday:...( I might be doomed as I've already become smitten with
collection Black Luke! But he's sold out? So I'm sadly safe...

Ohhh who/what mould is she? Is it a modify you are planning? Pics when
      she finally arrives please:D

 I Looove chips and I looove dolls. I'd say dolls are better though, you can
resell them if needed and show little sign that you overindulged on them, except
perhaps tattered clothes or shoes with holes!! jk

Pictures??? would love to see him:D

Pictures too...I love seeing peoples dolls, especially the very loved ones:aheartbea

Thanks everyone for reading my first thread, I've enjoyed all your comments
      so very much...keep them coming!!

    20. I understand the feeling. I've felt bad about it, but with all my
sweet dolls i still feel like the one I don't have still is the one I
would love the most. It must be one of the things that keeps the
doll or even just the bjd industry so alive.
They are lovely eye candy and often so unattainable.

But best wishes on someday getting your Duncan:D
