1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. I wish I'm that good, but my dolls like company :)

    2. BJDs are so expensive that when I fell for a sculpt, I told myself, "One, just one..." just to convince myself to buy him. But he's a scar-head and I'm a sucker for twins, so I also bought the normal head. So much for 'just one', lol.

      And now the twins are taking so long, I'm fighting the urge to buy a 'third' (in ' ' because I don't even have my first and second yet, lol) off the MP."orz And DoA members are such enablers-- without even trying~ you just see all these doll family pics and end up wanting a family for yourself!-- I have over half a dozen sculpts on my wishlist now, most of which I'll probably get.xD;

    3. This is exactly what I plan to do. I only have one doll now, and have no plans of getting another one any time soon. I'm also not really into photostories; I just like taking photos of her. :)

    4. Yeah.... when I discovered this hobby there was never a 'just one' rule for me. XD I'm too infatuated with lovely things, and I don't want my dolls to be lonely. Each that I get or add to my wishlist has a different aesthetic that appeals to me and I have to have. So! Nope, I never told myself to stick to just one, no point in setting a limit when I know I'll want more. It's a hobby, not just a 'one time' thing! :aheartbea

    5. having just one doll is okay

    6. I have only one doll at present, and I think I enjoy her more that way. However, I am saving for another, so I guess my answer is I could be fine with just her, but I don't want to limit myself. Sometimes change is good!

    7. My intention is only to have one doll, but I don't know what can happen in the future. LOL!!!I'll tell you....

    8. I fully intend to purchase an IH EID male later after I get my girl first (saving up for her right now) and than after that I want to to acquire maybe one or two newborns or two mini's/tinies (not sure on sculpt yet) that I can get in honor of my daughters

    9. Yes, i mean... i have just one at the moment and will do for a while lol but i truly believe that i would be quite happy with the one because since ive had my boy i haven't found a doll i like more than him XD

    10. Never! :D

Well, I actually did think that I would be happy to own just one doll. But I keep finding new dolls I keep falling in love so I really think that I could never ever have just one BJD.

At this moment I have three dolls at home and last time I counted I have 8 dolls on my must have list. But I'm pretty sure I'll add more dolls to that list in the future :)

    11. I don't think I could have just one. I ended up getting four at the same time when I first started out.

    12. I thought I could stick to one. Considering the price and my vast collection of other fashion dolls. Well, that was soon history. My second one came with a companion and they just multiplied after that. I really love them and I like that they have an extra dimension. I also love the fact that there are no strict rules. You can have your hobby as you please and enjoy how others enjoy theirs. There are virtually no limits and it's great. I hope to enjoy my dolls for years to come.

    13. Even though I've heard so many people saying they started off saying "just one", I was determined that I would be happy with my One Doll.

...Now I'm telling myself I just want "one more", and I'm having to slap myself from planning too many dolls. I can't believe I've fallen victim to the BJD addiction!

    14. Know for a fact I couldn't have just one - not even just one of each size/sex...LOL Just LOVE these dolls & love the idea of photo stories.
I doubt I could pick just one - I might be able to pick 2 (w/ one tiny as well...~sigh~) if I HAD to...

    15. My original intention was to just get one and make her anything I want her to be.... but now...

I have one doll right now, but I KNOW that once I get another I won't be able to let the separate. I believe in having dolls have companions. I probably couldn't go back to just one after I get another! It's either more than one or NOTHING.... but hopefully not the latter.

    16. Similarly like others, I started the hobby telling myself that I would only buy one doll and buy lots of accessories and outfits for her. After a while I thought she needed a brother and then a sister etc. Now I have 8 bjds....lol

    17. When I started In the hobby I thought one doll was enough and would gave her all the look I wanted, but I love the set and makeup I got when i bought her. I have soo many tastes and interests, that I fell in love with many other dolls. I guess one doll would never be enough for me and I have difficulty to not buy another one lol.:sweat

    18. Hooked, I was from the minute my eyes landed on one. Of course, I too thought one was enough with being able to change faceplate eyes wig, hands and so on...but two looks so much nicer! The rest is history lol

    19. I have just one right now...and the poor girl looks incredibly lonely being the only BJD in the house. If I had funds, she'd be getting a friend right now! So no, I can't have just one, because my one really needs a friend.

    20. I could have just one. Nothing wrong with that, but you know what they say; the more the merrier. :D All depends on funds and such really.
