Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Paul was an "only child" for quite a while, but that was because I was in a position where I couldn't afford any others. Now I have 4, with plans for 2 others. I don't think I could ever have just one doll of any type for very long. Dolls tend to invite more dolls, in my world.

 

Im waiting for my first one! I put her on layaway and already I can see that Im going to need to give her a friend because one is so lonely, I also collect blythes and she cannot be the only msd in the house! lol I just wish I had more money! I guess we all do! LOL

 

I'm currently content with the one I have. There will be more coming, but that's a few months away. I won't really spend that much on dolls since I have other things to put funds into. Dolls are a great use of my Gift Account though.

 

I would have a very very hard time parting with the rest of my dolls, you'd probably have to pry them from my arms while pointing a gun at me. But there's no contest to who I would keep in this scenario. My migidoll ryu, Ian, hands down. I might edit in a picture of him later, but...... I've said the same things about him over and over in different threads, I feel like I'm spamming the forum with him haha... But I just LOVE him in a way I don't love my other dolls. I do still love my other dolls very much, I just love him more!

 

Ive been happy for around a year with just one. I wanted a friend to her though almost from the start so Ive wanted to have two for quite some time now. However, Im doing well with just one doll and dont really want to have that many, two will be just enough to do fun photostories and such with. One doll for each hand, you know :3

After the second doll arrives and I'll probably lay low for a while since Im unemployed n_n

 

I think ween I get my first doll, I will want to get another (After a few months or so). I mean, I don't want her to be lonely? :3 But I guess I'm going to have just one for some time

 

I currently have no bjds. I'm planning to get one descently priced one and that's it. As long as I get one that I really like the look of I think I will be fine. BJDs are so customizable that I can change it's whole look if I get tired of it.

 

If I had to, I could choose just one of my 7 dolls actually. It would be my DC Bella in a heartbeat.
I love all my dolls, but she was my first, she has the best size (for me), she photographs the best and is the best one to work with (as in making clothes and all that).

Hopefully though I get to keep all of them :p

 

When I bought my first BJD I knew he wouldn't be alone for very long. As my mother puts it, "He'll get lonely, you know." Cue 5 months later when he invited another boy home. Now he wants a big sister (which, luckily, needs to be a hybrid and therefore won't be coming home anytime soon).

That said, I think I can (hypothetically) live with only 1 doll, as long as it's Frei. We used to have fun travelling everywhere--just the two of us. And I wouldn't mind going back to that should (heavens forbid) I no longer be able to keep more.

 

Like many, I also thought I'd be happy with just one doll, my Xavier, who truly was and is a dream come true. :3
But it didn't take long for me to get some company for Xav, he seemed lonely because I don't have much time for him on weekdays (heh, yeah, call me crazy but Xav *really* does get lonely and acts moody if he's left alone for too long, hehe. ;-)

So just a couple of months after Xavier, Abelard came home. Partially this happened because I had always wanted DikaDolls Adler in tan and Dika was going to cancel the production of tan dolls, so if I wanted my tan Adler it was "now or never".

So; to answer shortly, I could do with one doll, but the dolls seem to want more dolly company around themselves~

...and I have to admit it is more fun with Abelard ("Bram") around. ^__^

 

I have 6 dolls and this is not the limit.

 

I'm currently on the search for my "one-and-only" doll which would also be my first. Given the price of these dolls, I'm pretty sure I can safely say that my first would probably be my only one for a long long time. I've already convinced myself that the doll would need more clothes and accessories instead for his photo shoots instead as he'll probably be my only model to practice photography on.

 

I did. I only wanted one and didn't have a need for another. I was totally fine with Wolfgang.....but he looked so lonely. So I went and got him a a chilling buddy, Armada. All was right in the world. AND then they looked like they needed a problem child, and along came Bordeaux. And now HE needs an adoptive older brother...so now i'm having anther come along....ugh. These boys don't talk but they almost scream demands! LOL

 

I said this exact same thing: I only need one BJD. And I searched long and hard for a sculpt I would love forever, and wouldn't cost me a million to own. I finally found one and was so happy to have him. Then I started looking at more scuplts to give him cousins and friends...After a year and a half I now own 5 dolls and 4 heads

If I could only have the one doll he would be it. I still love him best and he always gets 1st choice of anything and everything I buy for my dolls (spoiled!). He is an Impldoll Child (msd sized) doll in the mold called 'Charles'.

I only have one BJD and to be honest it's hard to keep up with the hobby. But I don't have any friend who collect so I'm not sure if that might influencing my decision. Maybe if I had a lot of money and a bigger house I would have a lot more dolls :P

 

My first and only doll of this kind turns ten years old this month. All this time, I've been satisfied with just this one. But now -- I don't know why -- I'm starting to think about getting another. I don't want to make any hasty decisions, though.

 

I still haven't bought my first one, but I can definitely say, that once I get that first one, he is going to have siblings. I won't be able to help myself.

 

I tried that, and it didn't work out for me. I needed more.

 

I am currently waiting for my first doll and promised that it will be my only baby ; u ; )

But now that I'm in waiting mode, I can see potential playmates for my only baby too! It's hard especially on a tight budget but I'm trying to keep myself into thinking that I will only have two~ Good luck to me hahaha! :')

 

I only have one right now, but that's not for lack of wanting! It's just because I am totally broke from buying Mali!! xD
