1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. Kadan was originally going to be my only child, but then I had an urge to get a tiny for Chiisa, and now I have a goal to someday own one of every size o.O (well... not the 1/2 sized or larger, just up to 60cm, maybe 70cm someday idk)

    2. Before i started bjds i thought i would be content with just one bjd + other dolls. Now its more like heaps of bjds and few of other dolls.

    3. I just received my first Limhwa-Elly. I have wanted her forever and finally got her. She is so beautiful! Of course, now I want another one to be repainted. Never satisfied. I learned long ago that no matter what I say, one is not enough.

    4. I used to think that no, I couldnt. But just yesterday my BBB/RS Ai arrived and Im shocked to say not only is she the end to my collection, but Id be happy with just her. I currently have 6 dolls, from a Soom Sabik down to a Luts Bory, and I could stand to see all of them go, as long as I got to keep Ai.
      O.O
      honestly Im in shock!

    5. First is was a DZ Fei in 2008, then an AOD Rao in 2010... Add in a FL PP PongPong this spring and I've just paid for a 5SD TongTong...

Now I've just found a IH EID Akando and Luna... I don't think I can handle this obsession!!

My plan is still to have no more than 2 of each size, one boy and one girl but who knows now!

    6. I only have one BJD and I'm pretty content with owning only him and simply buying things to make him even more beautiful. I have eyeballed a couple other dolls, but I'm in a position where I couldn't afford to get another one- even if I wanted to.

    7. I thought I could, in fact I wanted to. I really wanted to have just one BJD and than buy tons and tons of stuff for her. I actually don't remember when I changed my mind but I was looking at all of the beautiful pictures on here of dolls interacting with eachother and I decided that maybe two would be alright and than the third followed quickly behind :P Now I can't imagine what it would be like to not have more than one doll and although I still don't plan on having more than maybe ten. We'll see if I stick to that!

    8. Nooo!! it's nice to have a boy and girl.

    9. Someone mentioned chocolate? *yum* I agree! BJDs are like chocolates!! if I have a huge box of chocolates, there's no way I will have just one:eusa_naug and there are so many new BJD companies that there's no way I could have just one either!! :P

    10. No, never. I always start new collecting hobbies and tell me that I will only get one. A year later they have taken over and are everywhere, happened with ponies, happened with Pullips, is happening with BJDs right now^^

    11. If I really was needing some money to pay my bills or to eat, I could sell all of my dolls but one (that would be my artist doll). But that doesn't mean I want to, I love every single doll I own and some of them I can't see myself selling.

From the moment I bought my first BJD, I knew I had to have more. The first was a kind of test, because I was into Pullips and didn't know if I would like BJDs. But when she arrived home I just fell in love and knew I couln't own just one. Three weeks later, I was buying my second. That was six months ago, and I now own 8 dolls and one head XD

    12. 8 dolls in 6 months? Wow, taht could be me :sweat

    13. I really, really REALLY tried to keep my first boy as my last. But...I have the internet.

The internet makes you see things and want them. Like Unoas.

    14. hoarding/collecting things is something that kind of runs in my family, with both my parents being avid collectors of certain thing (and so i guess it's an urge or mindset i find hard to escape as a result since i was raised around 2 people who collect valuable items as a hobby- just not BJDs), so it's always hard to resist the desire to buy something new - whether it's a doll, or something else.

however, if i had to pick just one doll, i would probably pick my first doll, Yoon Ji. i feel a fondness for her that even surpasses my liking for my other types of dolls (such as my Dollfie Dreams, who are extremely precious to me as well).

    15. When I was on start this hobby, I thought that I would have only 1 BJD - girl. Now I understood that it was a biiig-biig mistake)
      sorry for my bad language)

    16. I thought I could, but apparently it's impossible. xD Every time you think you've settled a company pulls out something new that's hard to resist!

    17. This is a good question - I started out thinking that I'd be content with just one doll (which I planned on buying as a cosplay accessory), but just searching around these forums and all the shops, my "must have" list is three... Of course that number may increase the longer I spend here and with other doll owners!

    18. I thought I would get a male doll as my first. Didn't really consider any girls at all--and then I absolutely fell in love with Resinsoul's MSD sculpt Mei and HAD to have her immediately. But...I still wanted a boy doll as well. So I would say I was doomed from the start to have at least two dolls. Over a year later I finally have my first boy. At this moment, obviously, I'm more attached to June because I've had her a lot longer (Mr. Naked Nameless Dude is quite new). But I love having at least one of each gender, and I know I'll adore him once I get him all sorted out...and now I suspect a third doll is inevitable another year or so from now. Dang it. I liked the idea of having one, and then I really didn't want to go over two. Aaaargh. There are just so many dolls out there, and so many possibilities! Who can resist? :P

    19. I probably will only ever own one, for one simple reason: Money. My funds are way too limited for more. :(

    20. for 8 month i own just one BJD (i say i just want one) but after tha Ldoll 2 (french doll event) i bought some dolls (7 since this festival ^^).
If i had to chose one it would be really difficult because i like all my dolls.
