1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. IF I could only keep one, it would most likely be Rini, my yo Suzana mod. My friend and I fixed a bad mod job on her, and she is my favorite. [IMG]

But, a Puki might hid with her, as my husband gave me the Puki for Christmas last year. Besides, Pukis are to small to count, right.... But my yo is my oldest doll I've kept. She was perfect.

    2. Ah well, I guess it did a double post. Well, for another photo, look at my pic on the left!

    3. :blush That's one of the reasons I've ended up with two on layaway! I had planned to get a girl for my first and then I saw some owner pics of An and it was all down hill from there...

    4. When I first started seriously looking at BJDs, I knew I wanted one. I didn't have any idea what character he (because I knew I wanted a boy) would be or what kind of style I would give him. I wanted a Husky and I thought he would be my first doll. I liked a lot of other dolls, but I never really said, "I will get this many dolls."

When the final sale of the K-Doll Kill_U_2nd came around, I knew I needed to get him instead because, by then, I had decided that I wanted to have a doll to represent my dear character, Rook.

So I got him, finally had his face done, bought his body, etc. and had drafted several wish lists because the idea of having dolls to represent my other characters really appealed to me. I figured they could inspire me to actually finish the story. XD So, in the end, there are many more dolls that I want and plan on getting.

However, if I had to choose only one to have or keep, I would most likely choose Rook. He's my first doll, based on the first character I created for this story. I knew what he looked like and some other things about him before I knew his name. I adore him and he is very important to me. I love all my other characters, but Rook would have to be the one.

Not a fantastic picture...he has a new wig now, but I haven't had a chance to get some pictures in good light.

    5. I really want to try having just one doll...really and truly I do!

(cough, cough!) Well...how embarrasing. I'm back editing this post now because I couldn't hold to that statement for even 48 hours! LOL! I'm suddenly buying another head in the marketplace (one of those infamous "OMG I'm madly in love!!!" purchases) and I'm trying to get into a GO for yet another head. So I guess my answer to "Could you ever have just one?" would be a resounding NO!!!

    6. I never intended to have just one. I am a "collector" after all. I don't have a set number in mind either. I am very careful about purchasing a new doll, however. The doll has to really make my heart sing. It also has to fit in with the rest of my group.

    7. I've had as many as four and a head, and right now I'm at two and a head. What I have right now is my minimum, so to speak - all three mean the most to me out of any dolls I can forsee getting, one is irreplacable and one was partly a gift from my girlfriend.

I wish I could just have one.. I always lament over not spoiling my dolls, if I could have just one and be happy with it and be able to use my hobby money on spoiling them, that would be so awesome.

    8. My head said one doll, but my heart says five, so have just ordered a fifth and final doll. They feel complete as a family now, although they are an odd lot. If I had to have one BJD though, that's a really hard choice, but I would probably choose my Pandora Awkward Face. I would miss that little face too much if I had to give it up.

    9. I haven't had a BJD yet...but I am positive if I get my first it'll be long before I have another. $$$

I've been browsing around for rather long time, and I hope I'll manage to save enough money when Migidoll releases Miho again! D:

    10. no, I'm too creedy to have just one! Actually I only have 1 right now but since he's too lonely, I'm planning to build him a family (a big one! XD)

    11. Oh yes! That's it exactly!:) That's precisely what I'm hoping to do. I don't know if I'll be able to hold to it, but I'm certainly going to try.

(edit note: Well, this only lasted about 48 hours...see edited post above!):o It appears I'm truly hopeless at resisting!

    12. They're like potatoes chips, for me. can't have just one. I told myself originally I just wanted two; a boy and a girl. Then I saw another mold I liked, and saved up for that one!

Six months later and I have three dolls. I'm pretty sure this last doll WILL be my last, however.

      ...Maybe?

    13. I'm hoping that my first doll will be my only doll. I've only got one character in mind, and he's a loner!:whee:

    14. ... I thought after my first doll, I won't be needing another. But I had already ordered another one.. A tiny. And then I'm already looking to get another one.

      I phailed. Lol. XD

    15. If I could only have one, I would choose one of my tiny dolls because tiny props are inexpensive, fun to make, and easy to store. Which one to choose to keep would be a serious dilemma. It is only under the most dire circumstances that I would part with any of my dolls. Although I have managed to accumulate a biggish crew, they are each very individual and wonderful to me. In the beginning, I never imagined that I would want any more than one boy and one girl, but now, it's kind of like saying that I only want two friends, one boy and one girl. Although I have to choose very carefully now and save longer because of the crappy economy, I will probably continue to fall in love with and buy dolls.

    16. When I first became bjd-addict, I told myself "I would have only ONE bjd and that's all". And it turned out that I got two first bjds (I ordered them on the same time) :sweat

Now, honestly, I couldn't make a choice between my lovelies. I have one bjd per size and they all have different interests to me.
My SD in an absolute beauty, my MSD is an inspiration, my Lati Yellow is so cuty, my Puki is my lovely funny thing.
I couldn't have only ONE bjd indeed.

    17. I started the same way since the first day i saw the first super dollfies, then i started to see other companies too. It is very hard to just have one if we have the money for it no matter they are expensive or the more economy ones because if we like them thats what it counts.

Right now i will go to my number 7 and i am already saving for 8 & 9. For 2009 i will go until 10 then i mostly will be concentrated on clothing and accessories.

    18. I would not be able.... at first I thought I would... but now that I am buying a head, I just feel that 2 would be better :)

Like... how I want to have 2 cats so they can play together, I want 2 dolls so they have fun too :XD

But, if it was not for the head, I would have been able to stay with one.... since it is the best one I found for me =w=

    19. When i was thinking about ordering my first i was thinking he would be fine for me on his own, but yeh, xmas actions made me get a tiny one (free from dollzone) aswell so i'll never have just one doll xD
And i'm already thinking about another one, maybe a girl this time, i'm not sure yet

    20. There's simply no way I could have only one. In fact, I ordered 2 to begin with so there could be some interaction between them. Just one of any type of doll seems so lonely.

As for choosing only one to keep, well that's mission impossible around here. I've gotten so many of my dream dolls that I couldn't decide between them. Too much dolly love here.
