1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. No way! My photowork and my personalities needs more than one. We are all different :) With different sides and sizes and colors.

    2. I got 12 dolls now, three floating SD-heads and two floating Narin-heads . If someone told me I had to sell them all except for one, I'd probably keep Luken, my first doll. But I'd be so pissed off at the person forcing me to sell the other ones (I'm really, really fond of every single one) that I'd probably never talk to them again. (I mean, I was really, REALLY lucky to find that Unidoll Feanor head for sale, and for a really reasonable price, too, so why would I ever want to sell him again? And he's soooooo pretty in that Renaissance suit and the red, curly hair ...) ;)

    3. No because I need at least one boy and one girl. But I could probably do with just those 2 :)

    4. Right now, I cannot imagine settling for just one. Funnily enough, because two years back I was hesitating the whole BJD thing after having purchased my first one. I was not sure if I ever even wanted that one either, to begin with. Now there's four of them (plus head), with three more on the way. @_____@ I dunno how I ended up like this. But I do know, that with the current abundance in the sculpt selection and with the character ideas that keep coming with them, it is quite impossible that I would have stopped with just one.

    5. For the first few months I was convinced that I only needed my first doll, and I wanted to make sure that he was going to be my only doll. But then I thought, well, he needs a girlfriend, and its only gotten worse from there. At first I said I would never make any of my characters into sculpts and now I'm planning on how to save up for all of them.
As for the question of who would I keep if I could only have one, it'd probably be my first, I just love him to death! Although, that opinion might change after I finish up my grail doll...

    6. I would prefer to own just one doll. As I feel I won't have enough time and mental effort to pay equal attention to multiple dolls. I think I would feel guilty and feel sorry for the dolls if I am to own many dolls and love one more than the others. I swore to myself I would only buy one doll. However.....however....after placing my order for my "one and only" doll, while my doll was on the way to me, I went to a doll fair and happened to win a doll lotto, and obtained another doll. So now I have two girls.

Yes I could choose. This girl is and would be my ultimate choice.

The reason is that I started into the hobby of BJD because I wanted to own a doll that represents my game character from FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14). I would rather dedicate my time and effort, (as well as money :P), in making/ordering her the outfit and stuff to reflect the game's setting. I don't want to split my attention and in turn have less time for each doll.

The size is SoulKids (as she's from Soul Doll) which is MSD (1/4). I prefer this size because she is light-weight and easy t carry around in a bag, while not too small. I am also extremely fond of her because her original self is the game character I've been playing for a very long time, which makes it a part of me and also reflects me.

    7. I don't want to choose just one doll! :(

Honestly, I'm really not sure if I could choose one doll or not. I have a favorite doll but it just wouldn't be enough.

    8. If you could only possess one of your dolls, could you choose?
Good God, man! Are you trying to put me six feet under?!

And what would be your reasons? Size, your first doll, a limited doll or sentimental love towards it because of who or how it came to be with you?
Assuming I could choose, I would choose the on I'm the most attached to. Which one that will be in the near future has yet to be seen.

    9. I'd hate to do it, but yes, I could. I have three Bambicrony Emilys, so I'd probably choose one of them. Probably Lorina.

    10. I only have one doll right now, but I am in the process of receiving my second doll.
I don't think I could settle for one doll. Since I want to craft things for my dolls, I like to have different sizes to be able to fit them right c:
I have a ton of things for my MSD sized doll, though. I am actually ordering her new eyes and a new wig along with the new doll.

    11. I only have one bjd for the moment (Yume, a DOD Homme Ducan). He will always be special to me :aheartbea. But I'm lucky he's not alone. My daughter also has one (a Dollove Brian). So for me it's like having 2 boys in the house :). Lately we both have been talking a lot of getting another one.We really get hooked on bjds ! As we both have an SD boy I would like to have a girl. I often wonder how it would be to get a msd size. My daughter has already set her eyes on a msd boy, but she still has to save a lot. Some weeks ago I wanted to buy a Fairyland Minifee, but then I saw Iplehouse's ASA , which I had already looked at before, and I couldn't decide anymore. As for now, other expenses have come up. But I will definitely want another bjd in 2013. Make a happy little family. And if ever my daughter leaves home and takes hers with her , then my Yume won't be alone !

    12. If I had to cut down to just one doll, it'd be my F16.

I like a lot of dolls, but that's still probably my favorite sculpt, though it's a common one.

    13. Probably no not ever.
      I wouldn't want her/him to get lonely!

    14. I will never be able to have just one... I literally just finished (not even, he still needs a faceup) and i have one on the way and one on Layaway... I think i am doomed. XD.

    15. I wish, I want to dedicate time and energy to a sculpt I love instead of constantly bouncing around. Just having one doll to cuddle with would be awesome.

    16. i currently have only one doll and have no desire to buying any more. they cost a lot of money and i dont want it to become an addiction. well i figure, if i keep spending my money on myself, i wont have any to buy a new doll with! and this suits me fine. plus i dont think i could be as attached to another as i am to my current only bjd. if i was going to buy another, i would have to make sure that he is perfect and im in love with him just as much as my first one. ;)

    17. I got my first boy this last august, and I figured that I would have two or three tops, now i'm looking and I have one at home, one and a head on the way, and I plan on ordering two more here soon >.> I probably would't have as much, but I have money to spare right now and the Christmas sales are hard to resist. I think if I had too I would have two at the least otherwise they would seem lonely.

    18. Yes. :3 I've got just one girl and I have alot of outfit plans for her. So I need all my attention on her. ^^ And it took me FOREVER just to find a doll sculpt I liked (I kept changing my mind) so it's not really easy for me to want more BJDs.

    19. No I couldn't. urghh I would love to just be like Alright I only need one doll but no I think that Dolls are like good chips to me lol I cant just have one

    20. I only have my first BJD atm, I have another coming in the mail, but I do have plans for more, and know exactly which ones I'm getting. I don't think I'd be able to chose just one. I can think of one or two out of the bunch that I could give up if I HAD to, but I can't narrow it down to one
