1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Could you ever have just ONE BJD?

Dec 28, 2008

    1. I love my first doll but i couldn't keep only one. Keeping pair of dolls make me feel better, i think they can have some story!

    2. Just one??? It would be tough! But, yes, if my house was in foreclosure or something like that, I could sell them. If I needed the money for my family, health, or something necessary. I was one that got into this with the intention of just getting one MSD-sized doll. I went for a BBB Sprite, which was inexpensive, but a beautiful sculpt. I've done the most with her of all my 8 dolls. She has a handmade wardrobe, I've restrung her, retouched her "factory" face-up, and have her in the perfect wig (a Louise Brooks style dark brown bob) afer lots of diffrent trial wigs. So I'd probably keep her out of everyone. But I love all my dolls. And I'd have an awful time if I tried to part with my tong tong or my DZ Megi.

    3. Not gonna lie, being new to the hobby and naive and having my eyes set on a certain doll, I had no plans on getting more than one. The more I look at pictures and such I don't think thats gonna last long!

    4. I could never have just one doll! Since I bought my first doll, I did not think that I could have only a one doll. Now I am planning to buy my second doll. I want to have boys and girls and create different characters. :)

    5. Initially I did think that one doll was enough for me, but after 2 years I finally got myself a second doll and planning on a third! XD

    6. Yeah, I could if I had to. I'm very uncomfortable with the idea of selling the ones I have since I become very attached to my things, but I could. I'd just have to find the one doll that fulfilled every expectation. It wouldn't be one that I already have, though, since I bought more to compensate for lacks in the firsts.

    7. I only have one doll, a RS Ya named Faith, and I'm pretty happy that way. I can buy all the clothes and things I want for her and not feel guilty about neglecting other dolls or playing favorites (which is silly anyway since they are dolls and not really alive), and I'm afraid a large doll collection would take up space that I'd rather devote to other things.

    8. lol, it's like potato chips. You actually can just eat one, you're bodily capable of holding yourself back, but after you get a taste you think "why should I? What's the point of limiting myself to just one." and just shrug and eat the rest. This metaphor???

    9. I have enjoyed photographing BJD's for six years but I only have one doll of my own. I like taking the photographs instead of owning the dolls.

    10. i had the same thinking few months ago after getting my first doll. i thought one doll is enough for me but i suddenly have the urge to get more dolls coz i think my girl will be lonely XD

    11. For me personally just one is enough.~ Even though I have my second girl on the way. ._.
