I'd definitely love a Mobius one day too. I just love snakes! Though I will agree, his face does look a little more like a dragon. Not sure if you've heard of them, but there are dozens of species of legless lizards. They look a little like snakes, but are most definitely not snakes.

Guess who I finally sueded and am bonding with?? This Boi!

 

So today I needed to do some art therapy and so I settled down to attempt to paint this bronze drake. I think his name will be Orion.

I tried to keep in the theme of bronze- with polish and patina surfaces.

Thanks! Yeah when I got him I was worried I'd maybe chosen too dull a color but I had this vague idea of what could be done with the Bronze color and it's nice to have it figured out now.

 

It's always such a good feeling when an idea works and the doll just "clicks".

 

Right?? I was just so sure I'd made a mistake and then I got the paint onto him and it was like this gradual sunrise of OHHHHHH.

 

@Rosslyn - Ohhhh he looks so lovely from that angle! Did you use acrylic paints?

 

Thanks! Yes it's acrylic paint kind of drybrushed (the horns and claws) and then water-colored on. (The patina). The golden bronze is metallic, and so is a little of the blue-green in the patina effects.

Hecate is almost the size of my real dog!! Such a cool doll, I love her.
