CuartosDolls

Aug 8, 2016

    1. I went without wings. as lovely as they are I like the idea of being able to curl up the little one and carry them about. I'm calling them a Beetle Drake to explain lack of wings and small size.

    2. Ooh that's a cool concept!

    3. Anyone care to help my waiting by spamming some Darkhorn photos? I feel like I've exhausted the small selection already available online. ;_;

    4. I second that motion! I would love to see any more poses these little guys can do :3

    6. Awww. Thorfax looks like he's enjoying himself. :)

    7. Yay Thorfax (love that name btw)! And his spiked collar is so cute!

Out of curiosity, how well do Darkhorns handle a sitting pose?

    8. Those leaves are the perfect contrast to little Thorfax, I love it! :XD:

    9. Thank you everyone! He's such a fun little thing to play with - he never fails to find something interesting to explore. :)

@Squeek of the North - sitting on all fours or up on hind legs? I can get some photos tomorrow if you'd like.

    10. Both if you please. :eusa_pray I suppose I am most curious regarding a sort of sitting position as if they were told to "Sit" like a dog.

    11. Not a problem, I can get the photos for you tomorrow...we had a doll meet today and I am looking forward to sleep.

    12. I received confirmation for my order and payment! It's really happening, I'm so excited!
I was asked if I wanted paint on it. I declined, but wasn't aware that they did that.

    13. Oooh super exciting! :D

    14. Congrats!

    15. Oh, I'm glad I found this thread. I've been dying to find owner photos of Möbius. I thought nobody had gotten theirs since they're impossible to find and Cuartos has been known for doing some disappearing acts. I had to start a paypal claim just to get her attention during my darkhorn order. And she hasn't been updating her instagram in ages. But anyway, great to see that someone at least has gotten theirs. I'd love more pictures too. :3 (I'm dying to get one of my own but I need to sell stuff before I can justify buying more critters.)

I currently have one winged darkhorn in my cast:

She tends to make appearances with my other dolls.

    16. Wow, your Darkhorn sure is pretty! :D
I didn't really realise that - there are several locals all with dolls from Cuarto and I've not heard anything bad, although I may also just have forgotten...

    17. I'd be happy to oblige with more pictures of Jormy. I had actually forgotten to post this one of when I took him apple picking.

    18. Aww, how cute! :D He certainly looks like he's enjoying himself.

    19. It was seeing the darkhorn that made me realize there was far more to the bjd hobby than just pretty faces that tended to look the same. (edit: faces tend to blur together for me, even real ones so very few sculpts tend to catch my eye.) So the dragon has a soft spot for me for multiple reasons. It's been a couple years since then and it's still on my wishlist. Fingers crossed things go my way so I can get one sooner than later this year.

For those who already have the darkhorn, I have a question. How far does the mouth open?

    20. It depends on what kind of a hook you have in the head and how it's positioned. Basically it can open waaaay too much, like the whole jaw hangs out and looks dumb (like it's been dislocated). But if the hook is a different shape and differently positioned you can make it so that it doesn't open as much (looks more natural) and is more stiff to use.
I'm not sure how my pearl dragon had the hook in the head because when I got her, I immediately pulled on her head to check out the mechanism and she fell apart. Literally, the hook gave out and she fell into pieces from head to the tail attachment. :'D (Bought her second hand.) My dark blue dragon came straight from Cuarto and his mouth had the "hanging open" syndrome, so I made a new hook out of some wire and it's stiffer now.
