Dale Zentner's Tessa Discussion

Mar 6, 2013

    1. No,Thank you Belinda!!! You share beautiful garments that make me want to get my sewing so much better. I saw more pictures in your facebook pages showing many pictures of many of your creations. Your patience to do all the embroidery gives me new hope that I can go slow and not worry about anything but the end product. I even saw your picture!!
Thank you for the explanation to help me hopefully to load a picture without having to add a link for anyone to see the picture.

    2. You're sweet to say so! :-) I just love sewing and embellishing of all types and this is my favorite size doll to sew for. I find it easier to handle the scale correctly.

    5. OH my Belinda,
you must have a great fantastic machine to get that kind of embroidery. I mean, my mouth is on the floor ...Purely Perfection! What can I say....:D:D

    6. This one of favorite in stories as a little girl and I truly love your rendition of Alice in Wonderland dress.
I want to make one for my Tessa (Olive Rose is her name) but I want to try a futurist style; something creative and not
the typical dress but the typical colors.
I like your colors : the blue ribbon on the second layer of the skirt and the black lace on the bottom layer.to me it is a very good
      work and professional looking.

    7. Thank you Irine! This wine color is one of my favorites!

Thank you so ameiru! I've been machine embroidering for 20 years and love it lots! LOL!

    8. Thank you so much. I too love Alice character and fell in love with this outfit. This whole outfit was made by Dale herself but for my Cassie. She is a very creative seamstress.

    9. Well this thread has been dead for a little while; I thought I would try to start it up again with a picture of my girls together in my studio. :)

    10. :sighNice! I like them they are pretty and stylish. want to try my hand at them too. Hey I was at Ms Zentner' ssite and viewed the Kimono dolls and they are beautiful. I want one so much but can't afford.

    11. Glad you you like them ameiru! I love them to death!

    12. Hi every body,
I will be getting a new Zentner doll. She will be an Asian oriental skin Blank. I have her on lay-a-way and I will be making her a Kimono set at some point. I am so excited. Just calm down ameiru, sighs it's gonna be a while! Just wanted to share.

    13. linakauno - That's a great look for Tessa! I can totally see the Helena Bonham-Carter resemblance. Reminds me of how she looked in A Room With A View.

Belinda - Wow! That Renaissance outfit is a true work of art! You're so talented. Once I heard someone dissing machine embroidery and I said--try it! It takes a huge amount of skill to get it as beautiful as yours. All the beading is incredible as well. Not to mention just the whole over all construction, design, fabric! Everything! Well done!!!

    14. Ameiru Congrats on getting a new girl from Dale Z!

Jay Thank you for the lovely complements for the Renaissance ensemble! Very sweet of you to say! It was a labor of love for me. I really like creating these gowns for the big girls.

    15. I still love all the Tessa dolls and all the pretty outfits. But right now I was wondering if anyone knows how or where to get high heel feet for the Tessa dolls? I am making my doll some modern clothes that I would like to get her some actual high heel feet so I can buy her some high heel shoes.
      Thank you,
      ameiru

    16. Hi Ameiru! Your Tessa can wear some high heel shoes and boots. I have several boots for her that are high heeled that work well.

    17. Hi Belinda!
So you say she can wear high heel shoes as is but the one place I have seen shoes that are for high heel shoes which was on Pink Grapefruit were not actually that high and they were boots and not very pretty at all. I have seen some of her dolls for sale with these boots no open toe designs and I was not impressed. Also because of the non curve of these dolls toes like normal high heeled feet my girls would be limited to what they can wear in high heel designs. Do you have pictures on your facebook page you can link me to so that I can see your dolls high heel shoes they wear?

      Thank You,
      ameiru

    18. I have several pairs of boots with heels that I've used very successfully on Tessa's feet. I don't have any open toed high heeled shoes though. I do have several pairs of sandaled platform shoes I purchased from Dale's sister Kim. I love how feminine they look. I try to take a picture of the different shoes/boots I have for my Tessa's later today. Dale doesn't make high heeled feet/legs for her dolls as far as I know.

    19. Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday with pictures; the day just got away from me! LOL.

Here is a picture of her in high heeled boots.

And here is my small collection of Kim Zentner shoes, 2 (white and red) were commissioned.

Hope this helps. I have two pairs of boots but haven't purchased any shoes off the net that actually fit well enough to show anyone.

As you can see, she does great as long as you don't really have to see the foot.
