1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Darak Doll Tiny Discussion Part 1

Aug 12, 2013

    1. I will be able to post pictures of A Li next to a LTF. I switched the few clothes I had on hand between my LTF and A Li while at the convention this weekend because I was curious to see if they could wear each other's clothes and shoes. I compared their feet and the length is almost identical but the LTF feet are a tiny bit wider by the toes. I bought a pair of second hand Fairyland shoes this weekend and they fit A Li perfectly. I also bought a little pair of YoSd boots from Dollheart which fit both dolls well but maybe a bit better on Ari because her foot is a tiny bit thinner.

A Li's a little taller than my LTF but the clothes I had on hand fit both of them well. I bought a bunny suit which is adorable. On My LTF Bisou the suit is comfortably loose. On A Li it fits beautifully. I'm taking about the length of the suit not the width since A Li is a slender girl. The width fit both girls well.

I think one of the reasons I fell in love with A Li is her delicate hands, her pretty lips, nose and profile, and just how beautifully balanced she is. When I put her hand up to her face it stayed there. I thought it gave her alot of emotion especially with her sleepy eyes. I've noticed that on some double jointed dolls the hands can't touch the face so I really liked that she could. I'm amazed by how beautifully balanced she is. She's not kicky at all, in any of her joints. She's loose enough to pose well yet stands solidly. The artist didn't have to display his dolls with stands and this was at a busy convention. She can sit deeply on her knees. Another thing I really like. And she twists and turns easily in her trunk and stays put. I noticed that she has really nice head motion. You can get a lot of expression because of it. The artist uses a ring rather than an s hook in the head which makes it very easy to change heads. I think he must be especially talented and one who pays attention to the tiny details because he got so many things right in his entire line of dolls. I wanted a MSD and Claire ( I think that's her name!) as well.

This is a picture of A Li next to Bisou. A Li is wearing her full set dress. I actually found a similar dress deep down in the Dollmore bin that is nearly identical to A Li's. The dresses fit both dolls well.

The photo was taken in natural lighting so I think the resin colors are accurate. They appear to be that wAy on my IPad. To tell the truth, I don't even know what color resin my Darak doll is. I think she's normal as she has a very soft pink in her resin. I'd call it pinky white. My LTF is brand new so her resin hasn't yellowed. She has a bit more of a yellow cast to her. Both are very nice!

    2. I just found out about this company and fell in love with the Remy sculpt. It's lovely!! I saw in their website of a "Claire Tan Remy", in the description is written that is a regular release doll but is sold out right now... anyone has her? I couldn't find any photos of this mold in tan anywhere. was is an event doll? I'm in love and in the dark right now, I need enlightenment lol <3

    3. They may have just copied the text for the regular doll as it says normal or white skin also. They release tan dolls occasionally but maybe they are waiting for cooler weather. Tan is harder to pour. I would ask on the Q&A board. The more requests they, the more likely they are to release her again.

    4. thanks for the detailed comparison pony that really helps!

actually you can get the smaller dolls in tan right now. the option is enabled. they may just be limiting the number of sculpts they have available so that they can meet production. according to some of their other notes they seem to do that. but it probably wouldn't hurt to ask

    5. Thank you for the info! I will ask for it too. I'm sooo in love with this sculpt :D I have been away from the hobby for a while (a long while lol) and I haven't caught up with all the new dollmakers out there. My old wishlist is getting some new faces on it <3

    6. Hiya, Kamia! I *just* posted about this right before did. Look here. Despite having tried everything under the sun, I have no further information to share, and would LOVE if other people have suggestions on clothing these girls!

      I do know this:

Ellowyne Wilde FLAT FOOT shoes fit like a dream.

      Any other shoe suggestions?

    7. I made the mistake of looking at a Darak box opening thread and fell in love with Remy which lead me to look at the website and fell in love with a few more. >.<

for those who have ordered from them before how do you choose the body type as there isn't an option anywhere? Also when I go to my cart it says shipping is "Pre Pay" does that mean it's free or calculated later on?

      thanks in advance

    8. Hello! I can't really help as I bought my girl second hand, however, if I am not wrong, for tiny Remy only Type A body is available now!

So sorry that I am not much help :(

    9. I contacted Darak about possibly getting one of the boxes for my new Ali that's referred to as the default box on their website. Unfortunately they're no longer available as they said they were only offered at their grand opening. The box I received at Dollism is a brown cardboard box that is "the correct box." But I had to replace it with a sturdier box that I was able to find at Home Goods since the cardboard box was already ripping. I guess they're no longer making the beautiful trunk boxes. :...(

    10. Thank you MissEmily. I'm so in love with Claire, just need some money to buy her with! Please share more pictures of her <3
For the claire/C-remy are the two body types an aesthetic thing or does the B body have more posability?

    11. I've looked at those pictures before and never noticed that difference >.<
      Thank you :) <3
Has anyone ordered the sleeping head with Claire? I'm interested in seeing some owner pics.

    12. Here are some photos of my sweet girls...love them to pieces

Need to take some more photos this weekend. I really love this body shape and it lends itself so nice to designing!

    13. they are lovely. i'm hoping to get together enough funds to get ari while this order is open.

    14. They look adorable in their crocheted outfits. I agree that their bodies make you want to design for them.

    15. Really beautiful!! How is their posing like for the bigger dolls? :)

    16. I am wondering, on the site, it says that Claire's head measures 5". So, what size wig would I order for her? 4/5 or 5/6?

    17. I don't do a lot of posing but I haven't had too many issues. I do find the legs spin the socket some and if they are not aligned right; she won't sit but its an easy fix. I prefer a well formed body to super posability so I may be a poor choice to ask.

    18. Hi circoit. I think Claire takes 5-6 because her wig is for sale and is listed as 5-6 inches :)

    19. Thanks Kamia! I didn't notice that :XD:
