1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Darak Doll Tiny Discussion Part 1

Aug 12, 2013

1. Thank you! I haven't been able to totally clean up my studio after all the anniversary contests that I participated in so I feel like I haven't been able to really enjoy her yet. I can't wait to make her some new clothes.

Thank you for posting the picture of the box you received, kamia. That's the one I received too. Maybe the trip home in the car was too much since I didn't have an outer shipper. Darak was super careful in how they wrapped the face on the extra head and also on my sleeping face while on the doll so I also believe that they take the steps needed to protect their dolls.

I'm going to carefully reinforce the box on the inside and repair the damage then since I use the boxes my dolls come in all the time. The box I bought as a replacement box from Home Goods has a weird smell to it so I don't want to store Ali in it.

2. I agree that they are very diligent in protecting the faces, but more work needed on wrapping the rest of the body, for that added protection!
I'd love to get a sleeping head for Claire! I like it so much that I'd want to get it a body though :P
Good luck repairing the box, hopefully it will be able to protect Ali at home.
When you store her do you put the face veil back on too?

3. So exciting to see all the new dolls arriving, kamia, your Remy is just beautiful! I'm so used to my adorable tiny so it's cool how her older sculpt may share her face but looks so much more mature!

4. Flufflenuff, she's actually a Claire! She looks so similar to Remy though, I'd love to get one! I really love how Remy has a baby and adult version <3 I took some pictures of Claire in the daylight yesterday and with a blonde wig so I'll upload them and maybe she'll look less like Remy!

Just added the pic, so it's erm 'British' daylight, so maybe not that great haha >.<

5. HAHAHA HOW EMBARRASSING! I swore she was Remy... Oh well, your CLAIRE is a beautiful girl nonetheless! I love her expression! Yes, the second pic shows me how much of a blind bat I was :P

What's her name?

6. kamia. I re wrap the head that's not on the doll carefully and use a face protector under the bubble wrap. But I don't wrap the head when it's on the body since I'm super careful not to jostle her in her box and sometimes it seems like I'd do more damage trying to get the head unwrapped if the protector is taped on and wrapped with bubble wrap. That's how the heads were protected when I bought them.

Lately I've been taking the time to tie elastic on all the face protectors I've received with my dolls. It's one of those things that I hate to stop and take care of. But it seems like most companies don't add the elastic and use tape instead. When the elastic is tied on I absolutely use the face protectors on all the dolls when in a box. It makes it easy!

7. Hahaha, Flufflenuff, don't worry! I think with the wig and the freckles she was being a bit of an imposter :P Claire doesn't have a name yet, I feel like she has been Claire for so long that picking a new name will be difficult.

Pony, thanks for the info, my SD came with elastic on the veil but it seemed a bit small because it was resting quite hard on the nose, Claire's was just on with the little bandage round her head which meant it didn't actually touch her face, but now I can't really put it back on when I put her away! A conundrum indeed!

Anyway, another Claire picture because I'm in love and took 50 in one sitting... >.> She is too enchanting

Actually I think with this blonde wig, she still actually looks like Remy a bit :P Hopefully if I can get my hands on her one day, the difference will be clear!

8. i've only looked at the tinies before - ari and tiny remy. i didn't realize some of the "bigger" girls were only 31cm tall, i thought they were all msd sized! that's good to know as i like the 30cm size for variety.

i really like claire's roombox and furniture. did you make it all kamia?

9. Yeah I'm a big fan of this size :)
They only have two but I'd love to see a c_semy too!
Oh no! I bought the room box from someone much more talented called mini gamja. They're pricey but so incredibly detailed! I'm going to post a full review of it soon, there are many more pictures on my Flickr too :)

10. i've learned so much making stuff for my kids. learning woodworking is next on my wishlist, 'cause there's nothing available here and shipping is sooo expensive.

11. Yeah I ordered this box from Korea, the shipping was expensive but slipped by customs :D and also came in less than a week!!!! Here's mini gamja's blog because even just for inspiration I think these are some of the best roomboxes out there! http://blog.naver.com/fmpops

12. cool site. there's a great room box with a window seat and... how did you translate it to english to figure out how to order?

13. I love window seats. I didn't want to wait for the room to be built so I asked which were in stock (especially as I couldn't find any feedback) and I liked my one best. I think in future I would order one specifically for me requirements, but you never know for the first time so I wanted my paypal protection. So I got an email address from here: http://minigamja.com/ it's no longer used but there are email addresses when you click on any of the boxes for sale (note this webpage hasn't been updated since May 2013 so this stuff isn't actually available!). I then just ordered through email.

And because I want to keep this about Claire :P

Here she is in said box again :P

14. thanks. i'm sure i will be back at that site drooling quite a bit! good idea ordering in stock first time, i got caught with another company ordering custom. the stuff was crap, and by the time i got my order it was too late to do anything. i couldn't even leave feedback 'cause it took so long the feedback link closed!

15. Kamiya, did your room come with all the books and furniture too? It's perfect for Claire! I think it'd be cute to have a pillow cushion on the long bench so she could curl up there and read one of her books. :)

16. Auntbear: I drool on that website all the time. I'm still not sure about ordering long-term as I heard it can take quite a while >.< However, mine came in a week. I'll let you know when I get around to doing my fill review.
Pony: It came with everything you see in it, apart from the paper roses :) I'm planning on making some cushions soon :) It's actually a desk but without the chair infront of it I reckon I could pass it off as a bench :P
Today I got Claire out just before the sun went down (not that it's been out much at all here) but then my camera died. Still managed to get a couple of nice ones in.
Any more tips on clothes? The only way I've got stuff is by custom ordering. The website I love though on etsy is so expensive and the stuff hasn't come yet still D: (I'm already looking at ordering more!) I can't really afford to be risky on sizes so I guess custom ordering and waiting is the only way atm! Anyone know anyone who makes reasonable custom stuff for this size???

17. She's so sweet. Her hands look so welcoming! I love darak hands, often small dolls lose a lot of detail whereas darak-i's are so delicate and perfect >.<

18. have you tried clothes for iplehouse kid or dollmore narsha? i don't know if the proportions are the same but they are about the same height so you could check the measurements to see if they would be close enough to work.

what a cutie

19. Kamiya, I'm discovering that hands are super important in how much I like a doll. I think the hands on my Ali were what played a huge part in me getting her. I also think the Darak resin is so pretty.
