1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

DayDream Dolls Discussion Part 1

May 10, 2013

    1. She's so cute! I hot-glue sueded my Coco with some great results! Aside from a little restringing, that's literally all I did to her. Here's an example of how she can pose now... sorry for the bad quality, but she is in fact on one foot

    2. pinkburrow - your Coco is pretty!
      reitaism - that's awesome!

My Sally arrived. I just love her to pieces :D And as a bonus I learned wavy/curly wigs are not for me until I can figure out how to style them! I have horrible lighting in my apartment so all my pics are terrible, but maybe I'll get the hang of this taking pictures to share thing some day. ;)

    3. I would love to see your Sally! I keep debating over one myself... But Coco mostly has sat in her box with lack of clothing (because I only had mnf girls, so nothing fit her ~_~) but I finally got something for her. She is the one doll I cannot photograph with my phone because of her skin tone lol Everything comes out washed out and grainy... but I think she's finally starting to look cute.. just gotta figure out how to tame that wig.

    4. Reitais : I like her pink jacket~! It make her look fresh~
baxterbrat : Looking forward for your Sally~~

My Juliet have arrived on Thursday~~~
She is so cute and beautiful~~
Although her skin color is just like paper , it really look good!!
When she is taking picture with normal skin BlueFairy, it don't look odd.

Halloween has passed but we still can have some pumpkin~

I think I need to change her elastic strings. The one daydream send me is very loose and make her hard to stand.

    5. Yay!! It's so nice to see new photos on the thread! I love seeing the dolls! PaiPai your Juliet looks very cute with the ears!

I wrote to Daydream to see if they had started shipping, it's old news now, because of course they have! My boy won't ship for a few weeks yet, I wasn't one of the first to order so I wasn't expecting him yet, seems like the shipping time came around so quickly though.
I ordered my girls some new clothes so that he could have the boys clothes they had stolen, I'm really pleased, it seems like perfect timing.

    6. I'm so excited everyone's dolls are shipping (or close to shipping). I'm planning on going to my first ever doll meet this Sunday, so hopefully there will be good light and I can take some pictures that are worth sharing.

reitaism I love her outfit! Pink and black and blonde is always a winning combo for me. :aheartbea

PaiPai I love your Juliet (and is that a Bluefairy Lunar? They look great together!) My Sally is super loose in the legs too and needs to be restrung. Maybe it was to keep them safer while shipping?

Last_bus_home The clothes are so pretty, they're just not the type of style I go for. I do love seeing other dolls in them though. I'm excited there will be a boy floating around here. :)

    7. Juliet Lo Pre-Order is coming~~!!!!!!!!!!!
Make-up and no make-up set are also available. Also, You can choose normal skin or white skin.

      She is so cute :D
( But I have order too many dolls in this year... I should stop now ... orz

      Last_bus_home: looking forward for your boy~ I haven't saw any non-official boy's photo yet.
      baxterbrat : Yes~ She is Bluefairy Lunar~
I hope daydream can change their elastic strings because I will just through them away........
It seems that not many company give good quality elastic strings(?)

P.S. I love the auto-save function of DOA~ I just accidentally go to previous page.

    8. Thanks! Hope your meet goes well ^^ First one, huh?? I miss going to doll meets, you will have to be sure to share pics :)

Paipai, your Juliet is definitely cute! She always reminded me a little of Crobi's Camille

    9. Oh my gosh, Juliet Lo is so cute!! I want a Juliet so so much! (I didn't like the limited face up for preorder, but I love the default!) she's next on my list I think, maybe I will buy her a Lo head to swap between, maybe I will do the same for my Sally boy...

    10. Oooooh Juliet in Lo is pretty. I'd love for them to a Coco Lo/Coco in Love head (man is that sculpt growing on me!)

reitaism Thank you! I wanna say I've been to at least one in my life.

PaiPai My Sally is my first BJD so I have no real clue on company string comparisons. I'm hoping I can make something work with her current strings when I finally get off my lazy butt and attempt to restring her. :sweat

Last_bus_home The Lo heads are great. but far too tempting.

I managed to find a fairly well lit spot in my apartment, so I have a photo to share!

    11. Oh wow, Juliet Lo is really really cute!! I did order two from the White Choice event, and they are on their way! :)

    12. Congratulations peppermintsheep! Did you order two Juliet Los? On their way already, so quick! My Sally boy is on his easy too! Yay!

    13. Ah, no, I ordered a Sally Lo and a Juliet not in Lo... the Juliet Lo wasn't posted until after shipping notice came, and yikes, after ordering 2 at once, I definitely have to take a break from buying dolls.

And like everyone's said, their strings are really loose!! I'm going to have a hot glue sueding session someday. :)

    14. I have change the strings of my Juliet. However... she still can't stand well :doh
I don't know if it is the ball joint design problem of her hip.....

I am going to take her to go travel with me. It seems I can only let her sit on somewhere to take picture .....
( As I dress her in kimono, its seems it will be quite hard for me to adjust her hip ball joint.

      >>Peppermintsheep
I have no idea on having hot glue.... After having hot glue, can it be remove eaisly?

    15. PaiPai, if you use a low-temperature hot glue gun (that sounds funny, but they make hot glue guns that are just hot enough to melt the glue stick, but are not too hot), the glue can be peeled out of the doll's joints if you need to remove it.

Here's a link to a tutorial: http://www.american-doll-outfitters.com/bjd-tutorial.html on how to apply the glue. To be honest, I unstring the doll before applying the glue, and then I can tighten the elastic and not worry about accidentally gluing the elastics themselves. The glue provides friction so the ball joint doesn't slide around too much. That's how Reitaism got her Coco to pose on one foot a few posts up!

    16. Hello everyone! My Sally boy arrived today, he looks dreadful with my bluefairy Olive (they would have been siblings, now I think not). I took photos with my May though, they looked better together. I always forget how easy NS is to photograph as I usually have all WS dolls.
I have to admit, I've tried this head on the 'girl body' and it looked too grown up, now on the taller prince body I think it looks too young?
The prince body seems a little too manly to me, I wanted a slightly narrower, younger looks so we'll see what happens, I'm still searching for my perfect DD doll!

    19. !!!! It's so pretty!!! But I have all the Day Dream girls that I need at the moment... if only the outfits were available for sale separately!

    20. Hii~ has anyone bought a ryan sculpt yet by the by?
Or the boy body in general- is it ok at posing or standing?
