My Normal Skin Juliet is arrived~~~~~~
The normal skin colour look so healthy~~
I like it~! It really look better than what I expected.

This is a rough skin colour compare. (At night can't take good picture...

2014 Volks Normal , 2014 BlueFairy Normal , 2015 DayDream Normal

I think daydream skin color looks red on photo, the real body is not such red.It is a bit orange.
The real color is more like the below picture.

Hello, yes, you can see my picture of Sally boy on the previous page. I found the price body to be relatively stable, but despite double joints, it has the same low posability as the girl bodies. It's a good body, but I found it to be too muscular, brawny. The shoulders made it look more mature than I wanted. I hope they bring out a smaller boy body to match girl body.

I'm waiting for my Holiday Juliet to come, I keep making mistakes with Daydream dolls so this time I ordered her as a full set, so I'm trusting them to have got it right!

 

Hey guys! New Daydream sculpts Evan and Grace revealed, very exciting!!! Quite frankly I find them terrifying but we all have different tastes!
Edit: Though I didn't like Sally, now she's my favourite, I didn't like Juliet, now I've ordered her, and I didn't really like Ryan and he's on my list.
Edit edit: Actually, Evan is already growing on me and I quite like Grace no make up head. They seem so very different from Coco and Sally though, I guess that's evolution. They remind me a LOT of Saintbloom dolls though, especially Betty.

Wow, thanks for the news, Last_Bus_Home, but so far I can only agree with your initial reaction... definitely not into the face-melting, extremely poochy lips going on with those two.

 

I agree, I find them ugly! ...and yet oddly compelling, almost characterful because of their slightly weirder faces. I don't know, it's not like me, I tend to lean towards whatever I think is the most aesthetically pleasing and cute. My favourite doll is a sculpt I first disliked though, I think if a sculpt can evoke something, even distaste, then it's better than indifference.

I'm hoping to order (for the first time ever) just their heads and buy a prince and lady body (and Sally head) at a later date. That pretty much completes all my dolls plans for the foreseeable future!

Edit: I really love the sculpts, but I don't like the blushing on Grace's cheeks or how dark the make up on their eyes is, so I'm negotiating custom make up with Daydream! Another first!!

 

I can't wait to see them!! I tend to like Blue Fairy's (and now Day Dream's) neutral faceups and hmm idk neutral faces?? Those two new ones are indeed "characterful", but they just don't fit into my soft/sweet/cute lineup ^^;;

I'm super interested to see them with different makeup though!!

 

Thank you Peppermintsheep! I ordered them a few minutes ago! I've just got the heads, but I'm sure DD will let me add bodies to my order before they ship out in May. So now I'm waiting on 3 daydreamers! (Juliet should ship next weekend!)

I know exactly what you mean about they sculpts, they do have huge lips and droopy eyes, but I think the make up they've given them accentuates that. I've asked for lighter make up on the eyes and no blushing on Grace's cheeks! I'll add the blushing myself, just a touch, but higher up. I wouldn't have considered Grace if I hadn't fallen totally in love with her blank sculpt, then I had to work out what bothered me about the make up head, I hope I got it right!! They've confirmed my custom make up, it's exciting!

Thepagestommy on Instagram (part of the team behind Daydream and Bluefairy alike) put up photos of their Grace and she's beautiful! So different to the photos on Daydream though, just shows what wig and eyes can do! I really hope I can save up for bodies by the end of May.

Edit: Daydream have just put up a comparison photo of Normal skin/beauty white skin/snow white skin, but there's something not quite right about it. When they released Fall in Sally (and Sally Lo) limited edition, I'm sure they said it was beauty white skin, and it was, if anything, paler than the previous yellowy snow white skin. I can find a few examples of people saying their Fall in love dolls are Beauty white that back this up, but now that Fall in love dolls say they're in snow white skin and the comparison shows beauty white as being in between, kind of like Bluefairy's Beauty white, not too pale.
I ordered holiday choice Juliet in NS because I didn't want her paper white like the 'beauty white' dolls I'd seen, but now they have put up this comparison that confuses everything.



But Turbow has a comparison on her Flickr which shows a very different situation.

 

I have a Beauty White Skin before and I think it is also too pale.......
After I bought her to go out and take photo, I sold her and buy a normal skin one.
This is how she look under sun light...


I think Daydream have over photoshop the skin comparison photo.
The Normal Skin color is deeper and more orange than the photo.
For the beauty white skin, I think it is more like the snow white.
I didn't have a snow white doll, so I have no comment on it.

P.S. My Juliet have finish face up and will be back on tomorrow~~ Look forward for her return~~

 

I have had normal skin from daydream myself and I think it looks right in the photo, but my issue is that now the dolls that were marked as beauty white skin seem to be marked snow white skin. I think they've changed the 'beauty white' listings (such as "fall in love") to snow white, and changed the colour of 'beauty white' to a darker white? Turbow did a comparison of the original snow white skin and it was definitely darker and yellower than beauty white!
If that all makes sense...? Maybe I'm just going mad!
I look forward to seeing your Juliet when she comes home, mine should ship this weekend! ^^

Mine is brought in 2014 Sep Onine Sales Event.
I have check my invoice and notice on the web, both of them are beauty white. So, I think mine is beauty skin(?)
I think beauty white is already very pale, I can't imagine how pale snow white skin is.....


I love the head design from daydream but a bit don't like the skin colour.
As the normal skin color is darker than many company's normal skin colour, it is hard use other company's body.
( I am trying to find a bady-fat body for my sleeping Coco.

 

I wish their NS was lighter or their WS darker! I don't know if beauty white is darker now, because that picture shows it darker than snow white where it used to be lighter!
They might have changed the colour of beauty white since you had your girl.

I wish I had been quick enough to get the sleeping coco head! I bought Holiday Choice Juliet but too late to get the sleeping coco head. I hope it is released again, even as limited or maybe I will find one on the marketplace one day!

 

I'm thinking about ordering Juliet but am unsure about the face-ups. The girlish one looks really striking but I wonder if it would be too much in person - maybe too red?

 

It might be, I am getting Juliet soon, I had Sally with girl Make up, and yes, it is more heavy than default bluefairy make up (for example) however, it might be possible to ask them for less red, I have just negotiated exactly that for my Grace and Evan heads so it's worth asking? It might come at additional cost though, I'm not sure.
I hope you get her, we need more Daydream dolls here! ^^

 

Perhaps it would be easier just to order the boyish face-up.

 

If you like the boyish face up then definitely, I had Sally with boyish make up (on boy body) but if I ordered a girl Sally, I would still get boyish make up, I think it works well for either!

The girlish one caught my attention but I can't find any photos of her with it other than on the daydream website. The boy one looks safer and more bluefairyish.

Hey guys! Daydream confirmed my suspicions about changing all the skin colour names! See below...

Our manufacturing factory is having difficult to stabilize the white skin tone,

therefore we discussed and have confirmed the three main skin color recently.

And we re-determined that our first limited edition which was released as beauty white skin is closer to the current snow white skin tone,

so we have editied the product information to prevent the confusion.

But apparently it made you confused. We are sorry about that.

For your information, snow white skin is more stable to manufacture at this moment,

so pre-order or choice event dolls will be sold with the snow white skin option.

And beauty white skin will only be sold through our limited edition.

It seems that they are keeping testing on the skin colour.
Hope later on they can have time to change the normal skin colour.
Although it look healthy, it is hard to match with other company skin colour.

I am happy that my Juliet is back~~~
This is the first day I look at my Normal Skin Daydream doll in natural sun light and I found that the skin colour is quite like the one in skin colour comparison photo.
I found that the Normal skin colour look very orange under the yellow light.
