1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. NOT an entirely deadbeat comment... but I just wanted to post because I felt it was relevant... and made me want to not take part in swaps...

In the 4th bi-monthly swap I was paired with Catwhiskers. I was under the impression (from the rules of the swap) that the items were to be handmade and an outfit... extras were okay, but the primary gifts were to be outfits. I worked my butt off....
and recieved: three small triangles of fur (nice quality)
a NOT handmade sweater (which did not fit, and looked like it came off of a bear)
a painted pot (the kind that's sold in native american tourist traps)
      a dreamcatcher windchime
and a couple of kokopelli charms (for necklaces?)

in anycase, I didn't feel (and I'm trying to be objective and not offensive) that catwhiskers made much effort at all in this swap (she may have been a great swapper in others....) and I ended up feeling rather put out.

anyhow, I'm not too distressed, I just felt that it should be taken into account. If people are working hard on nice presents, then EVERYONE should be working hard on nice presents. Or at least trying to make a good effort.

Also, AbsurdAnne (who I made a gift for) has yet to send anything at all. That's pretty frustrating. If she does end up sending a gift, I'll edit this post but it's been two months.
*EDIT 1/5/07* recieved a gift from AbsurdAnne.
      thanks,

      -Liza

    2. I am Sorry that you did not like my chosen gifts to you. You mentioned several times that your doll was very fond of Indian motif. The "wind chime" was a Godseye dream catcher very important in indian lore. The pieces of fur were for sleeping furs and the "Tourist trap pot'" was from my personal collection of Indian pots from Mexico. I asked you on more than one ocassion to get me accurate measurements for your doll. She is sorta Super Dollfie but skinny is not quite enough.
As for the Sweater, It was an afterthought. My 60 cm obitsu has one as do several dolls on DOA and they seem to fit fine.

I wish you had pm'd me before you publicly complained. You also complained that you had not received a gift when it had been sitting at the PO for a week.

I am sorry you were so disappointed.

    3. Catwhiskers: I'm not particualarly upset, but I felt that it needed mentioning since the rules were set as 'handmade outfits' and I worked very hard on mine.

I appologize for any comments you felt were personally offensive.

    4. This is mainly a CRAFTING swap. This means that you are expected to create in some form (example: sewing, sculpting, beading, etc.) your swap item. However, the exception is: If there is a pre-made item in your possession that matches an item on the wishlist of your swappee that you wish to give, you may do so.

Not entirely correct. I was within requirements.

    5. rattimoth - I'm so sorry to hear that. *sigh*

Estrellabird & catwhiskers - Ah, I'm afraid it's all my fault since I was unclear. ^^;; I apologize. The 4th swap was supposed to be a costume-themed swap... and costume (I thought) implied clothes... I wouldn't blame catwhiskers, though, since the quote she replied with is in the rules so yes, she was within requirements... I'm sorry for the confusion.

      I'll try harder to be clearer next time... if there is a next time. ^^;;

    6. I am back now, so sorry for my long hiatus. I promise to forfil my duties!
