1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Delf Yder pronunciation? o_o

Dec 31, 2006

    1. Yder is a Norse god, and if you want the Swedish pronunciation of this deity approximated to English sounds it is: ee-duR. The r should roll.

Either pronounce the name in English if you are speaking that laguage - eye-dur, or in Nordic fashion, ee-duR. Don't mix Korean pronounciations into it! ;)

    2. Hehe I've always just said it Yie-duhr XD completely wrong prob but I like it hehe

    3. Reading the Korean, it's pronounced "ee-Dah".
The pronounciation would sound as if someone from Britain was saying it. (saying "-ah" instead of the literal -er)
Considering the spelling on the English side of it (Yder), it can be either "ee-Dah" or "ee-Der".
I think if you soften the end of it either way, it sounds nice^^

    4. I say "aider" but I think it's "eeda" xD

    5. I'd been wondering this very thing myself. I think it tends to come out as "ee-der" when I say it in my head.

    6. I've always said it, "yay-duhr" lol I know I'm WAY off the mark with that one though. X3

    7. Well, I just take the phoenetic approach to bjd names, because I know whatever I say is going to end up wrong anyways :'P
So yder ends up as "yih-dur" ("yih" as in yip yip! and dur as in, well, duuuuurrr :E

    8. I pronounce it 'yih-dair'.

Yih with the i like in 'it' and the 'dair' like in 'stair'. The 'yih' part is short. ^^ Make sense? I always have liked my pronunciation best out of all the ones I've heard. ^^'; Just because it sounds a lot softer, and it seems to fit his mold.

(I should make a sound post somehow... o_O)

    9. In anything that starts like a Y followed by a consanant, the Y is usually pronounced "ee". Like Jacques Yves Custeau. His middle name is pronounced "Eeves." Or like Yves Saint Laurent, it's also pronounced "Eeves". So going by that, I pronounce it "Eeder." but that's just me. <3 Maybe I just know too many French names...?
