Different Brand or Single Brand BJD Collector?

When I started out, I thought I might like having only Maskcatdoll girls. But I did want some boys too, so I had to look at other brands.

I still want a lot of Maskcat's sculpts, so the majority (if not all, who knows? XD) of my girls will probably come from there.

 

I bought different brand but I also have my preferred brand, most of my dolls are from soom but I do have some customized MDD doll as well.

 

I collect what looks nice to me, so far I have 5 brands lol

 

I want to collect whatever I like.

 

I've got a variety. I like fantasy, so I have dolls from different companies that do fantasy dolls, either as part of their regular line or as event limiteds. Though I have some human dolls too,

 

I can’t do single company. It’s too hard. I buy whatever I love.

 

I'm a total fan of Ringdoll and I would buy all of their dolls and would become a one-brand collector if only I had that much money, space, and time.

As of now, I have one Ringdoll, one Luts, one Dollzone, and one Angell-Studio doll so it comes out I collect different brands of BJD.

 

I definitely am not single brand collector overall-- I like having some different types of dolls! But, I am currently leaning into collecting more fashion-scale bjds that will all look in-scale with each other for photostories. I still love my stylized crew, and I will definitely add to that group in time as well, I'm just currently working on a sub-collection of iplehouse dolls.

 

The vast majority of my collection is Soom, just because I prefer their fantasy aesthetic over other companies. There are a handful that I own outside of Soom like IoS Kuroshitsuji Character Dolls because their quality is outstanding and that anime is *chef's kiss*, and an Iplehouse Eric because it's the only face that really captured my OC's warm personality and boy-next-door charm.
