DIM Tom Hiddleston Discussion Thread

Feb 15, 2013

    1. Sweet~ Thanks guys. 12mm eyes it shall be, when I get around to ordering some.

    2. One more possibility, has anyone got a Doll-leaves 67 ?70cm body or their white resin for comparison to DIM white? I really like the look of this body and they are not that expensive either.

    3. My Loki is turning out to be a rather costly boy! Of course after I get the white head someone ends up selling me a NS which is what I originally wanted. So now he has two heads. I'm thinking to do the white one as a blue frost version now and have the NS as his normal look. I also managed to get a Feeple 65cm on the marketplace and put it on layaway. I'm so excited now but also feeling slightly guilty at how much he is costing me. Damn but he better be worth it!

    4. He'll be worth it.

    5. I sort of regret not buying the WS head a friend had and decided to get rid of, just for random projects. I am sure your doll will be worth it.

I'm trying a new pair of eyes. 14mm Ving's. They were AWFUL to position so I'm thinking about going back to the 16mm Zouk's.

    6. ikke777 & Kim I'm glad I will have both heads as it will be fun to see how they both turn out. The white really is paper white though!
I'm sure I will love him too:)

Kim those eyes do look really good and they are a gorgeous color. I got 14mm urethane ones of etsy for my boy but they are a darker green so I hope they show up ok in pictures.

I'm really enjoying looking at everyone's Tom's as they are all so individual. It will be a while before my boy is finished so keep that spam coming!:)

    7. Here is a pic of my two Hiddles heads to show the difference in WS and NS before they go of for face-ups. He will be my only doll with two heads.

    8. It could be just me but I cant help but think with very little modding he could look like Jared Padaleski(Sam from Supernatural, forgive me if I spelled the last name wrong.)

    9. I asdfghjkl;'ed so hard when I found this thread. *-* So much wonderfulness!!! And that Loki with the ice-arm, wow!<3

Now the urge to buy a Hiddles head too is almost unbearable!! XD I need one like I need air. *-*<3

    10. Kavarr, I thought about hunting down one of the ice arms but I wasn't entirely sold on it due to characterization for me. But it is a pretty cool looking accessory. I do love how the Feeple 65 bodies have easily changed out arms, even if I find myself wanting to toss it across the room for its standing issues.

I got back from a successful Katsucon where my guy was our booth babe, to find my latest Thor figure had finally arrived. Eventually, he'll have a Thor his size lol

    11. Fleacollar999 and BotanyCameos glad you like my boy:) I am sending him of next week for a face-up with Ticuk who did a couple of my other dolls and I love her work.
Kim I love your Thor. That is one huge action figure!!! You must take some pics of them together once he is out of his box. I had never seen a feeple 65cm in person until mine arrived. It's a nice looking body and I think they are good proportion wise for the DIM head. I didn't know about the magnets and how easy it is to change the arms but I love it. You know what's really funny though is how magnetic it all makes him. All sort of things including a kitchen knife that was on the bench attached to him!

    12. Kavarr, you're welcome~! I look forward to seeing him with the face-up! :D
He has magnets? As in elsewhere than on his head? (Sorry if my question is stupid, I'm pretty new to 1/3 dolls... and to BJD in general also more or less. ^^; )

Kim, your Loki is so gorgeous, that sweater is perfect for him, with such a lovely green. *-*<3 And it will be awesome when he has a 1/3 Thor to go with him too! Is that the Hot Toys TDW Thor in the box?

    13. Yeah really strong magnets. The arms detach when you tilt the torso back and turn them and they are held in place with magnets inside the torso. Really easy way to change arms. I had never heard of it until I got this body. All my others and everyone's dolls I've seen are just normal elastic and hooks. It's just funny as anything metal will stick to his chest/back!

    14. Kavarr - The Feeple65 is definitely the body that looks the best to me for the head proportion wise and just in comparison with what Hiddleston's body actually looks like. It has those long shapely legs he has and the high firm butt lol But mine is sooooo fiddly when it comes to stability when standing or being posed. I should prob look into sueding or wiring it to see if that helps. The first time I figured out how the arms worked, I had bend his back far enough that the arm popped out of the socket and I was like, I was not expecting this.

BotanyCameos - Thanks! My extremely talented friend amubleu knit that sweater for me. Someday I'll prob see if I can commission him one of his actual costumes, but until then, he gets his pretty sweater. The Thor fig is actually the 1/4 scale NECA TDW Thor figure. I have the Hot Toys as well, but they're only 1/6 scale so smaller.

Holding my Hot Toys Avengers Thor.

    15. Wow I love checking up on this thread and seeing what people are doing with their Hiddles heads. I can't wait to get mine a body and start showing him off, too. :3

Kim, I should really get a Thor Hot Toys to go with my Loki Hot Toys, and to have a plaything for my Hiddles doll when I get him a body. And Kavaar, that frost arm is a stroke of genius, I love it.

    16. Yugami I have been eyeing off the hot toys figures for a while but decided that I really wanted a bjd Thor to go with my Loki. I have just sent off my IH Claude's head for a face-up. He will be my first bjd with facial hair! Do you have any idea what body you are going to go with?
Kim I love that pic of Loki holding onto his little Thor. I'm like you and got quite a surprise when the arm popped out. I only realized today that the hands are held on with magnets too!
I keep looking back through this thread as I love seeing everyone's Hiddles boys. The more spam the better far as i'm concerned:)

    17. Kavarr Yay! A Loki should def. have a Thor, I can't wait to see the pair of them. As for bodies, a part of me wants to get the Feeple 65, but then I also have the idea to get him the DC 72cm body with the extra joints since I want his character to be this inhuman shaman from a story of mine. I'm also eyeing those Mephisto antlers. Though I don't know anybody with a 72cm DC body to show me if the Hiddles head is in the realm of strange proportions or if he'll just look like a bobblehead, haha. I'm saving up for either option after I pay off my latest purchase.

    18. Yugami I think the head would be big enough for a 72cm body but the problem may be the neck. The 70+cms often have a rather long neck but since you are going for an inhuman looking character it may be ok. Shoulder width on the bigger dolls is good though as that seems to be most important on not looking bobble headed, as they can on a body with smaller width shoulders. Good thing with the feeple is the head fits perfectly with no modding required.

    19. My Tom head's getting his face done at Fabuula Rasa/propertyoftheuchiha's :D He doesn't have a body yet, though, but I'm thinking of getting a 68 or 70cm Popodoll body. Probably going to try his head with the bodies of my friends' dolls to gauge which range I should go into!

All your Toms and Lokis look lovely :D

    20. MacabreXX the Popo 68cm bodies are awesome. I have two of my other boys on them. They are quite tall though as with head on they are taller than my 72cm Ringdolls. I sent my two hiddles heads off a few days ago for face-ups otherwise I could have put one on the popo to see what it looks like.
