1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Display busts for floating heads - anyone remember these?

May 8, 2010

    1. Years ago, I remember that it was possible to get 'display busts' to use for floating heads - basically, a neck and shoulders in resin on which to put heads while they waited for their own bodies. These things were sold on Yahoo!Japan for both male and female dolls, in WS and NS resin.

Does anyone know if these things still exist? Are they available from a site somewhere, or is it a case of waiting for the auctions to come up?

      Thanks for any help! :)

    2. Luts sells them under the name "head stand". I assume other companies probably sell busts as well, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. LIKEMEY used to, but as far as I know that is a defunct company.

    3. Oooh, I haven't seen those before, thanks for the info!

The ones I remember are far more basic, just a neck and shoulder set cut off just below the collarbone.

    4. Elfdoll sends them out now when you purchase just a head. You might be able to put a wtb up and see if anyone wants to part with them?

    5. Oh! I should have asked...is there a specific head size you're looking to put on one? That would make it easier to choose what company you go for. :)

    6. I'm looking for something that would fit Volks NS boys in the SD13/SDGr//SD17 size range. Any suggestions you could offer would be much appreciated! :D

    7. Are you actually looking for it to match the resin colour as well? If so, it's a bit of a difficult thing to find unless you acquire a bust made to match Volks NS. Likemey used to produce ones that match Volks NS, but as I said before, it's a company no longer in existence. Luts' Senior Delf head stand might be a good option if you don't care about the resin match.

    8. masala_chai_tea - I was hoping to get a close resin match, yes, since the stands would be more or less permanent supports for the heads I have in mind. I believe the Delf Real Skin Normal is supposed to be a decent match for Volks NS, though, so it might still work.

gigias - Thanks for the link! I think these are me favourite look so far. Do you happen to know how N-Doll resin matches up with Volks NS, by any chance?

Edit: Nevermind about that last part, I found some comparison photos. For others who may be interested:

    9. Elfdoll offers them for sale separately for $29 each, and they are available in Male and Femal versions.

However, they are a members-only site at this time. Registration is opened periodically, so keep an eye out.

    10. You could probably blush it to match Volks if you were concerned about colour matching.
