1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Due to limited space, I both store and display.

    2. I'm really new to the hobby but I really love look at my girls , so I put them on display in my room, since it's not that illuminated I'm not that afraid to the sun exposure.

    3. I do not want to yellow them too fast so if its made before 2011 they are in boxes and after are in my room. Still depends on is it the one I want to play with it now~

    4. I get so mad when people just kind of pick my things up. Even in my bedroom this happens and I usually kick those people out and don't allow them back in, but aside from that, there's sun and dust which would keep me from displaying my doll. Plus, I see the box as like a bed for her. ;)

    5. My sd sized dolls are more put together then my two smaller ones, so they are displayed and never go in their boxes. My yosd and msd are only in boxes until I can get time to repaint them and then they will be displayed again.

    6. I love having my doll out, when im indoors she is usually sitting with me and then at night I put her away in her box. I do understand your concerns though especially for the much more expensive dolls, I think idprobably keep them in their boxes too. I guess that's why I didn't look to get one that was too much for my first doll as I really wanted to enjoy her without worrying too much.

    7. I used to have them displayed until I realized it accelerated the yellowing (it happened to one of them) so... now they rest in their boxes :(

    8. Dispayed! I like it better that way. I can see them, and it makes me happy)
My dispay shelf has all protection measures from sunlight and dust however, and is located in a pretty dark corner of the room. Because some of my dolls are pretty old, so it's important for them to have good conditions of keeping and comfort living in there)))

    9. I used to obsessively keep them in boxes with the exception of taking photos. Then it hit me how much I spend on this hobby, and how I don't get to even enjoy looking at my dolls. Not to mention some of my favorite dolls owned by others are old and yellowed; yet I love them and look up to their owners.

So now my dolls are displayed, sitting/standing on a book shelf. I'd love to eventually get a small table exclusively to display them.

    10. My dolls sit on a shelf in my closet. So they don't go in their boxes, but they also aren't exactly out on display.

    11. I like to see them both, so I display them

    12. When I'm at home I keep my doll out because my room have a very poor light and I can enjoy him but when I´m working I live in another place so he is in his box most of the time. :)

    13. I have my dolls in their boxes because I don´t want them to get yellow :)

    14. Right now I have them in the open, but in the back of the room so they're not in the direct sunlight.

When I go back home I think I'll put them into a box when I am not "playing" with them, to avoid the additional yellowing, but I'll get one or two of them out to cuddle or just look at them, because if I had them in boxes at all times I don't think spending that much money would be worth it to me anymore (and I'd start feeling disconnected from them)

    15. I prefer to put them in my closet to avoid yellowing, etc
But i always make time for my dolls to take picture or cuddles :)

    16. As a beginner collector of bjd, I like seeing them. I have other collections that stay in the boxes and find that they are often missed and even sometimes forgotten. I do get a rush when I see the boxed item again and fall in love all over again. Space is always an issue :)

    17. I have a question about the general way you take care of dolls. Now that I think about it, I never really protect my dolls from the light of morning, I mean the normal light inside my room (not outside or at the direct sunlight), i mean just the light general that enter in my room... its better if I avoid to keep outside my dolls in my dolls house during the day?
Do you guys in general keep your dolls closed in a box and open it just when you actually play with them, or are many like me that want to see their dolls all the time when I raise my eyes? xD
      Thanks for the info!

    18. I keep my dolls out of their boxes but they're not exactly across from the window so sunlight doesn't shine on them directly. I know some light will get in but it's not enough to bother me.

    19. I unbox; I love my dolls, but there's a line for me between "treating them kindly" and "locking them up."

    20. Mine are all stored either in their original boxes, or their original pillows, or both and always either in the doll closet or the chest of drawers where the smaller ones live. Never, ever exposed to morning, afternoon, or any sunlight if at all possible. Ever.
