Hi everyone!!! I didn't see a discussion thread for this particular line of dolls by Do Dolls Dream. The final preorder is open for them so I figure now is a good time to create a thread. I'm almost done paying off layaway from the teacup marionette preorder so I'm planning to order a petite now. I can't decide which sculpt and resin color though. I'm leaning towards Aurelia Rosa or Lullaby Clementine Lily because I love the elf ears. For resin colors, I'm torn between Woodland Echo or Berry Pink. I'm curious about Ruby Orchard but didn't see any sample dolls in that color so I'm undecided
I just joined to recent preorder ❤️ I chose Aurelia Rosa in Ruby Orchard. I loved her the moment I saw her prototype! I also have the teacup Aurie who I adore (probably why I was so taken by her MSD version XD) Definitely my Favourite sculpting out of all my dolls!
Yes someone started a thread on these! Petite Marionettes are absolutely my FAVORITE girls. I think my collection is going to end up with the vast majority being Do Dolls Dream ladies when I'm done curating it. I already have two Clementine Lily sisters in pale rose and caramel forest, and a caramel Misao. Misao was my first, and her posing and sculpting was so amazing that I just...could not do Minifees anymore? They felt like bricks after posing a Marionette. So the Clementine sisters joined shortly after that and boom, I was done for. All Minifees gotta go. The Ruby Orchard on this preorder looked so pretty but I ended up going for a Woodland Echo Aurelia Rosa and a Pale Rose Charlotta. The only problem is that I had to order the Lullaby heads in those same colors, so Lullaby Misao and Aurelia will be sharing a body, but the pale Clementine sister will be getting herself a Lullaby head. Ugghhh I'm so excited, it's going to be hard to wait months for these girls, especially Charlotta!
that's super exciting and I, for one, would love to see photos if you care to share!!! I have a Misao in the pink color, and was steadfast in my resolve for no more new dolls until December (hopefully January...) so I'd love to live vicariously through others for the Lullaby and new series! They're wonderful posers, it's true!! So easy to pose elegantly.
My Misao is so sweet- I can't wait to get her fully together. I also have a Clementine Lily head that is untouched. This last preorder I decided to get the Aurelia in the same color, that way the 3 heads could share 2 bodies. But then I saw all those colors and with the ability to get an extra head I just couldn't decide. I spent so many hours thinking about it and at one time I was going to get 2 dolls and 4 heads and all the feet and hands! But I added it all up and realized I was losing my mind. When the pre order ended without me getting anything it felt like a success. I know this was the last PM pre order but I'm hoping for a pop up so I can get my Aurelia.
@minniemeowmix - I know how you feel! It can get overwhelming trying to decide, and the expenses add up and it becomes more stressful rather than fun! The resin colors are a big part of why I love DoDollsDream - they are all so gorgeous! Even though I'm not a fantasy color person, I really like seeing all these dolls (and the Teacups) in cool colors like pink and grey! Also (off-topic) I'm excited about this year's preorders because the DoDollsDream artist says she's going to re-work her original 50cm dolls. 48-50cm is one of my favorite sizes, but there aren't many dolls available in that range (and I'm very picky), so I can't wait to see what she comes up with. I hope you'll be able to find your Aurelia in the future!
I preordered a Charlotta in Caramel Forest. She's getting a Paulianne faceup too. I'm really excited to get her. She has the cutest cheeks and bubbly face. I wish I could afford two though, I would of loved to get one in Mermaid Violet, either Aurelia or Clementine Lily.
Did anyone else get a Petite Marionette? I'd like to see more owner pictures of them. They are just so cute. Today starts the preorder for the new(?) MSD sized line called Muse Marionette. Are they supposed to replace the Petite Marionettes? Does anyone know more about that?
There was a comparison of all the sizes of the artist on her Instagram ( and on her Facebook, I suspect, they usually run parallel). It seems the petite Marionettes are quite a bit smaller than the new Muses. They also sport new hip joints I am really excited for and all new heads! I have ordered a Reiko / Amida and am super looking forward to her! Seeing that this thread is not exactly bursting with life, would it be ok to use it for the Muses, too, or should they rather have their own thread?
Thank you! Well, to me at least it would make perfect sense to use it for the Muses as well. Since the DDD threads usually aren't that active, I don't think it would make a lot of sense to create a new one. The more people we could gather in one thread the more active it should hopefully become.
Maybe either the mods or @Celestila can update the thread title if we combine them, since the Petite Marionettes and Muses are technically different lines, just similar sizes (one is more like slim MSD, the other is closer to traditional MSD). Just so people can know what they're looking for, too.
