1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

do people still “bond” with their dolls?

Oct 12, 2021

    1. I love all my dolls, but things are differen't for each. But I don't really feel that kind of bond to my dolls anymore although I love the hobby very much!

But there's one doll, my Luts SDF65 Bliss Sweety Version that I've gotten really attached to! He feels like a child to me and I find myself picking him up, holding him like a baby and even kiss him on his cute little head :chibi

    2. I understand the idea of bonding with my dolls too. To me, it's even more the case for the dolls which have an established character. For now it concerns only my non-resin dolls because my BJD has not arrived yet, but I feel like it will be the same when she arrives since I already have her character in mind. I feel like they portray a character which could not be embodied by another doll and that makes them more alive in my opinion. It would also be almost impossible for me to part with them, so I feel like this is close to a bond in my opinion, I am attached to my dolls for who they are and what they represent to me.

    3. In a sense--definitely. For me a lot of my dolls have been customized to reflect characters from my writing or RP/RPG characters, so I tend to put a lot of emotional investment in the dolls themselves. It feels amazing to see a doll portray your character exactly as you envisioned, and being able to take photos to reflect that, or even just having them on display. While I don't necessarily do a lot of activities with my dolls outside of photography and writing, I still feel like that's my way of bonding with them. :aheartbea
