1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you believe that some owners mistreat their dolls?

Jun 9, 2008

    1. Even as a child I never broke any of my toys. I am naturally careful with my posessions and also I think back then part of me thought they were alive and treated them as such. I just can't see throwing something around and being careless with it as "love."

    2. I wouldn't say people "neglect/mistreat" their dolls, but I know some that just get them, name them and sit them on a shelf. I feel that if you are going to spend so much time/money/effort into a hobbie, you should put more love into it. Even if it's making a backstory, buying more than one outfit, taking the time into finding your dolls style.

    3. While the smart thing to do would be to take care of something very expensive, people have the right to do whatever they want with what they buy. I wouldn't scream at a person throwing THEIR doll around or mistreating it in another way. I wouldn't think they were very smart or mature to do something like that to an expensive doll though. But if they want to do so, they can. I wouldn't consider it abuse. They just aren't taking care of their possessions. Do we call people that throw their phones around phone abusers? Just because dolls resemble humans, they are still an inanimate object.

    4. People can do whatever they want to their dolls. They or.. someone, anyway, paid for them. That being said, my heart hit the floor when I saw someone post a video online where they did an face-up with marker on a limited doll. That sort of thing just horrifies me.
