It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Do you care if other people like your doll?

Feb 9, 2011

    1. Nope. I only bought dolls that I like and I style them the way I like.
I don't really care about the public opinion when it comes to that.

    2. I care only when it comes to my friend uvu; I mean, because we share the dollystory and I don't want her to have to couple one of hers dolls with one of mine that she doesn't like XD; It's not like, I won't get it at all, sometimes I'm pretty much 'I dun care, I'll get it anw U3U'. But yea otherwise, no one else's opinion really matters to me.

    3. I think that it's always a little upsetting or depressing when the people close to me (family, friends etc.) think that the doll I have/want is creepy/ugly/not good sculpt or something similar. It does get me down for a while, but so far it hasn't made me to not want the doll anymore or change any plans :P Unless it's some doll I wasn't sure if I wanted in the first place. But yea, my taste is basically considered weird/different so I'm already used to this x'3

    4. I dont think I do care, they belong to me, and really, it's none of their business if they like it or not, as long as Im happy with her.

    5. I've had BJDs for about a year now. When I got my first doll, I cared about what people thought about my sculpt, but now I don't care. They are my dolls and my money is going into buying them.
You shouldn't care what others think, because it's your hobbie, not theres :)

    6. Nope, I don't care at all. If they don't like my doll, oh well, not the end of the world. I'm happy with it so their opinions don't matter.

    7. I do but I don't. My dolls are for me, but it's always an added perk when other people like them too. I stylise them to my tastes and goals for who/what I want them to be and someone complimenting them is the same as complimenting my effort put into them. I don't care or mind if they don't either as long as they're not rude about it or, even worse, lying.

    8. I don't care. Unless if it's one of my close friends then maybe, because I won't want them to state that they don't like it when we hang out and stuff.
And surely close dolly friends I might care if they didn't like what kind of doll I had. But it would never make me change my dolly plans just because their opinions, since in the end I will be the one who owns it and see it most.

Also if like they say they dislike it up until the point they are practically disrespecting me for my doll decision, then we have a problem there.

    9. I might of cared in the past, but now that I'm quite a bit older than I was when I started this hobby I couldn't care less. It has become a really private thing :) It is my own money that I have earned, and no one around me cares for dolls or even know that I do. I just recently unpacked my dolls in front of my fiance whom I have been engaged to for over a year and lived with for almost as long xD He just stared bug-eyed at them and piped out that they were "scary" and he had never thought me the doll-collector type of person :)

He'll learn to love them. I show him pictures of dolls faced up and photoed by really talented people and he can't deny they're a work of art. I might of cared what he thought next time I buy a doll (been so looong), but he has poor tastes in most things so I don't take him seriously :P

    10. It's funny how your tastes change as you continue in the hobby. Some dolls I would have never liked before I really am into now lol. So I don't worry about it if someone doesn't like it because I might not have liked it a year before either lol! Also I really enjoy seeing people love their dolls. I think most people feel that way. Even if they don't like the doll or dolls in general, they are happy that you do and that they make you happy.

    11. Most of my friends think my dolls are creepy, so I've grown a pretty thick skin about the whole thing and don't really care what anybody else thinks.. I like 'em and that's all that matters :)

    12. From one side I dont - becouse its my life and my hobby, but not so long time ago one person told me that BJD hobby is hobby for necrophilics which insulted me very much.

    13. From the beginning I haven't really cared. People can think what they want. Honestly most people I run into that I tell don't care either way. My Mom just worries because it is an expensive hobby. Other than that she doesn't care, though I think she likes how creative they make me.

    14. I don't care at all if people like my dolls or not. THEY ARE MY DOLLS! If I love them than that's all that matters to me. My first doll was a bobobie and got a lot of hate for getting her but I didn't care because I love her and was so happy when I got her and still love her the same as I did when I first got her. Whether it's they don't like the company, scuplt, or the way I protray them it doesn't matter to me. I see it like this, if you don't like my doll then don't look at them or bother me about them, they make me happy and I love them and care for them and that's all that will ever matter to me. :aheartbea

    15. As long that doll will make you happy, just have them =)
      different people different interest =D

    16. When it comes to choosing new dolls my fiance opinion means a lot to me, and it makes me re-think my decisions to.
When some friends tell me that my doll is ugly or something similar it makes me feel bad :( but then I remember that I should not care about it and that they just have bad taste :XD:

    17. I care what people close to me think. If some random person on the internet said something, I wouldn't think anything of it. But I actually hide my doll from my family because I am afraid they will say something bad about her.

    18. Ehh....not really, no, I don't care, but it really just depended on who it is that doesn't like them. If my spouse or parents didn't like Ia certain doll I wanted to buy, that wouldn't stop me, I just wouldn't flaunt the doll at them whenever it came home. If one of the girls at the meets expressed that somehow, I'd probably keep bringing it, since usually there's little interaction between my dolls and the others [ even their dolls are cliquey!]. Random people, I just laugh at and keep going. Doll people's opinions about my dolls used to mean so much to me, but then I realized.....why? The only time I care if someone likes my doll or not is when I'm trying to go for 'something' and I'm wanting to know how other people see it.

    19. What's most important is that I like my doll(s) but I would really like it if other people like them too. ^^
Though I think I'd be really bummed if, say, my boyfriend who will be seeing my doll every day hated her and reminded me constantly.

    20. Of course I care- you put a lot of time, effort, and love into making your dolls look *just* right, and you want your efforts to be validated by others. So I feel a little down when I post a new doll and no one comments or favorites it.

But it someone actively doesn't like my doll- calls it a creepy doll, for example- they can go step on a lego. That I don't care to bother myself with.
