1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you care if other people like your doll?

Feb 9, 2011

    1. I must admit that I do care to a point. I am not bothered if family or friends outside the home don't like my dolls, but I do prefer it if my immediate family are complimentary about my dolls. I would never sell one I loved because of what they think but constant negative comments would put a shadow over my enjoyment of them. Luckily they like most of them, so its not a problem :)

    2. The short answer; NO! ;)

Unless someone else is laying out the cash to buy them, my opinion is the only one that matters.

I believe that if you have nothing nice to say it's best not to say anything at all.

    3. It makes me happy when people do, but I honestly don't care. As long as my boyfriend thinks they're cool, I'm happy. :)

    4. I don't really care what people think about my dolls- I gravitate to more unique, less popular sculpts anyway. Though it is nice when people do appreciate them.

    5. I love dolls. I only have one friend that also likes them, but she's not palnning to buy any. My family doesn't care much about dolls, but my sister keeps saying that she's going to buy lots of dolls to me for birthday XD Aaand about my classmates... They all hate dolls. They ask me about them and they say they are ugly and expensive. But know what? I don't care! X'3 I'm still really happy with my dolls.

    6. Not really because I bought them for me. thats the beauty of this hobby, you can chose to share or not share what you want to with the community, so you are the one with all the dolly power ;) That being said, the only thing that I'm self-conscious of in relation to my dolls is that 3 of their names have the letter "I" as the third letter in their names (Daisuke, Kaine, Eli). I'm worried that people will think I did that on purpose when honestly it was just a fluke :P

    7. Frankly, I bring dolls home that really speak to me. If someone I care about doesn't see what I see, it makes me a little sad that they don't see what I see(though, I get that everyone has a different aesthetic), but it's really no concern of mine cos I don't buy dolls to win any popularity contests or please others. My dolls make me happy and that's all that matters in the end.

    8. I don't really care if other people don't like my dolls. I'll either ignore them or tell them to knock it off if they're overly vocal about not liking them. But it does make me ridiculously happy when someone sees my dolls and likes them. :dance

    9. I feel great if people like them otherwise I don't mind, actually I bought them for me to like my dolls and that's it all for me.

    10. I'd like to say that I don't, but I know that I secretly do care, at least a little bit.
But nowhere near as much as how much I myself like my doll. :)
Don't get me wrong though, I DO like the feeling when someone likes my doll--makes me very happy. :>

    11. --accident, my apologies--

    12. I honestly couldn't care less! The dolls I buy are according to my taste and for me alone so no. If someone has an appreciation for the same sculpts though, that's great but either way I just don't care! :)

    13. I thought I wouldn't care but sadly, I do. I get a lot of flack from certain family members and due to that, I haven't touched my dolls in a great deal of time. But I'm getting away from that, because they shouldn't dictate what I do or don't like. It's not their hobby. :)

    14. I care way too much about what people think about me or my hobbies/dolls. It's pretty stupid, considering how old I am, but at least I know to admit it. I do care, and my feelings do get hurt when the things I pour a lot of time and effort into are deemed as hideous, creepy or stupid. Often times it's not enough to push me to actually change anything about them since I do still like my original choices, but my mood and emotions will be hampered for quite a bit. I'm working toward the day when I won't give a flying fig about what about thinks, but I know it'll be a process and I have a long way to go.

    15. Nah, unless my husband was totally creeped out by it for some reason! He's been a trooper with this new and expensive hobby of mine, and he does live with them too now, after all :)

    16. Nope. Don't care ... well... I guess I do to a point. Like others have said, negativity can dampen any mood. But overall, my kids are for me to enjoy, so negative opinions are taken with a grain of salt.

    17. Nope I don't really care. To those I know it is just another hobby I have.

    18. I buy dolls for myself, but it is nice if other people like them too. ^^ If they don't, that doesn't bother me.

    19. At first my family especially my mom kept repeating that my boys look like girls even when they wear boys outfit -_- at first I mind what other people talk about my dolls, but then I realized that This dolls stay with me, play with me when my family (well only my little bro who helped me to restring them) don't, so I don't care about what other people think anymore, they had freedom to think anyways, so I pass on with my life not to mind their opinions. I've got a lot things to do more than minding what other people thinks about mine XD

    20. Nope ;)

At first it used to bother me but not anymore. I buy my dolls coz they make me happy & they're for me, so doesn't bother me what others think. We're all different & if people don't like what I collect, that's there problem & not mine ;)
