1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you care if other people like your doll?

Feb 9, 2011

    1. Our dolls are purchased because they make us happy.

    2. I have to say that it's nice when someone can appreciate my dolls, like if they see one of them hanging about and comment of their own volition and say he's cool and ask questions. But I've never purchased or not purchased a doll because of the opinion of someone else. I'd say that all of my dolls aren't that popular anyway, so this hobby is definitely for me. I'm thrilled just to be able to participate in this luxury hobby.

    3. If someone called my doll ugly or a waist of money. Sure I would get a little defensive/offended - because it is pretty personal to me. But, at the end of the day I don't really care what someone has to say or think about me or my doll. Because this hobby makes me happy! And to me, that's all that matters. (:

    4. I totally care, far too much! If I am about to buy a doll and read on the internet it is unpopular, I probably won't buy it!! Or if I see that not many people own it, I will worry that I am wrong and it isn't so beautiful after all! And that's people I don't know, I become super super sad if I think my won't/doesn't like my doll! I need to stop this because it's just ridiculous, it's making my doll buying a very stressful thing where it should be fun!!

    5. Everyone has their own opinion on which dolls and sculpts they like and which they don't. Ultimately, the doll belongs to you and not them, and as long as one can bond well with their dolls and shower them with tender loving care, I wouldn't quite bother if others like them or not.

    6. Nnnnope uvu; it bothers me a tiny tad bit when my best friend with whom we share our doll story and characters vehemently dislikes the ones I pick (which has happened very rarely if at all, I believe the worst that happened is her not be very enthused with the doll) but otherwise only my own opinion matters. I have a lot of friends who find my penultimate grail, my IoS Chaos, to be creepy, disturbing or even downright ugly but it doesn't really touch me one bit. xD As long as I like the doll that's only what matters.

    7. It bothers me when people dislike them. Doesn't make me like my dolls less...makes me like myself less though.

    8. Nope! Because you see, as far as I'm concerned, my dolls are the best dolls out there. Because they're mine. I've poured my time, money, and creativity into them. When I look at my dolls I see how beautiful they are. And if others don't? That's ok, I certainly hope they see their own dolls as I see my dolls. Other peoples dolls are nice or pretty or unique or 'Ooooo, look at that one! How cool!' but mine will always be perfect to me.

    9. No, i don't care about it

    10. I don't really care what other people think. I buy less popular/cheaper dolls which a lot of people don't like. I still love them and that's all that really matters.

    11. Nope. I love my dolls. Even if someone else doesn't like them or finds them not to their specific set of tastes and vision of what a doll should be, I wouldn't change them for the world. They are mine and I love them. I would never change myself to please someone else, so why would I put my boys though that.

    12. It only bothers me when they openly insult my dolls, because there's no reason to be a jerk. This mostly applies to people I know who aren't into dolls. But it doesn't stop me from buying what I want.

    13. I would like to say "no, it only matters if I like them etc." but in actual fact, it does matter to me. Part of my enjoyment of the hobby is sharing my dolls with others, and you can't really do that if no one like your dolls :/ I'm not holding out for universal appraisal, because that's never going to happen^^ but having back-and-forth with a few people who also share love for the same sculpt always makes things more fun :)

    14. I don't care at all what anyone else thinks of the dolls I want/own. It is of course fun if other people do like them, but if they don't then I don't let that bother me :).

I think the best thing to do is to get the doll you like because if you like it and is happy about your doll that's what really matters :)

    15. Nope I do not care
They are my dolls and I get them to be unique to be my dolls
So as long as I like I am happy

    16. I don´t care what other people say about my dollplans. Why should I do?
The doll should make me happy and not the other.Okay,I´m happy if somebody likes my doll, if not...I don´t care.

    17. Not at all. It's my doll, not theirs. I got it for me and for my own reasons.

    18. If I'm getting it for myself than what matters is if I like it, not if someone else does.

    19. A little bit, yeah. I really put a lot of effort into my dolls and sometimes my family just doesn't get it. But, when I put pictures of my dolls on the internet and people love them, it helps to boost my self-esteem because I tried really hard to make my dolls attractive and perfect. Regardless of what other people think though, I picked the doll because I found it to be appealing in one way or another. I pay too much money for this hobby to exist to bother with the fact that some people just aren't going to find my dolls attractive.

    20. I buy my dolls to please one person and one person only... Me. I couldn't care less what the "peanut gallery" has to say about them.
