Do you change your doll's wigs and eyes?

1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality?

I usually settle on one pair of eyes, but I like to have a couple of wigs per doll that are very different and I will change these when I change the clothes

No, I usually change their look if I feel Im not into the doll anymore which will make me like it more

I have two dolls, two pairs of eyes. Wigs...I have a bout three each.

I'm TERRIFIED to change my dolls' eyes!! But if Sasha's aren't blue when he gets here--or if Ave's are--I'm going to have to learn how. Once I get them right, I won't change them. Same for wigs.

Benny has different wigs, but that's because Benny's a model and not a character.

I added eyelashes to my RS Dai after falling out of love with her. It worked out beautifully for the fullset I thought of making her into, as they're very fantasy. But I figure any change I make to my forever dolls could be reversed just as easily, so I'm not afraid of falling out of love with them due to that.

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
Benny's got 3 wigs. White, blonde and green. He wears the green one the most. I don't have any extra eyes.

well on my two main dolls i change my dollfie dream on what ever look i have dreamed up. she has bunch of eyes and wigs. On my chiwoo he pretty much has stayed with the face up he came with and i changed his wig a couple of times til i settled on a look for him a lil Pierrot/jestor.

well on my dollfie dream she is like my blank canvas and her looks are sketched out before i create the outfit i want, i do a total package thing every time. but for chiwoo he has been his look i settled on.

about 4 dolls but my dollfie dream owns all the wigs and eyes and shoes. they all have looks i just went for and but the DD is the play doll i dress. maybe its the vinyl i don't feel i'll break her like the resins. but if i get the akando i am thinking about that might change since he will be the look of my second life av which has tons of clothes my doll prob will too.

 

for the moment I have never really change the eyes of my doll , excepted for jessica ringdoll

- I change them all the time on one, but very rarely on others, I guess I always have my favourite look that I tend to stick to.

- I actually find it makes me appreciate them in different ways, sometimes an all black moody look works, sometimes a lighthearted approach makes a different look, it makes me appreciate their versitility

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
I probably have a 2 - 3 pairs of eyes per doll ratio and a 2 to 1 wig ratio, it never hurts to try something and if you don't like it, no harm done, you just re-sell it

am I allowed to join in? I don't have one as yet at the moment, just placed my order few days back.
but I'm pretty sure I'll be changing eyes and wigs, to suit the mood and whatever I'm trying to achieve, ie photoshot or pictures. I'm already "shopping" around for a few eyes and wigs. I personally think you can't have enough pair of eyes, and wigs (but more on wigs though ) just as can't have enough clothes ^^;

 

i am happy of the look my doll has now but i am planning to change the wig as the wig is very curly

I rarely change anything big in my dolls (wig colours, eye colours). I have characters for my dolls. Ofcourse if the character changes (cuts his hair, dyes hair, uses contact lenses then yes) Ofcourse it is good to update the quality too. I think the only thing that matters is that it looks good on the doll and the character the doll is carrying...
So i'd say I rarely change anything if I have found the wig and eye pair of my dreams ^ ^
But if your doll doesnt carry character I dont know does it matter as much. It depends only on your own opinion.

Rarely/not really.

Umm... 3 dolls and about umm... 3-4 wigs (more to come)

When I bought my first doll, Emma, I wanted to get her as close as I could to her company pics, so I specified her eyes and wig to be as similar to that. Her eyes in the pictures were actually glass, but I didn't know that at the time. Even so, I like the eyes she has, but it would be nice to get her a similar-colored pair of glass eyes. I guess I could always send an email, asking what kind of eyes she has. Other than going from acrylic to glass, I don't wan to change the color of her eyes.

When it came to her wig, like I said, I wanted a wig that was similar to her company pics. I think I'd like to get one even lighter than the one she has now - sort of a platinum blond rather than the honey blonde she has now. Dollmore sent me a second wig, for free, that's brown and short. I call that her 'traveling' wig, because I like to use that wig when I transport her a lot, or when I'm trying to sew something for her because I don't have to mess with long hair. I don't really think it suits her, character-wise, but it has a purpose.

With Stephen, at first I wanted a yellowish mohair for his wig, because that's what I thought would work best. But then I decided to do a total turn around, and decided to get him a silvery/blond fiber wig instead. I also decided to get him a pair of midnight blue glass eyes. His defaults (which are a sort of forest green) look nice on him, too, but I wanted him to have blue because he's Emma's brother. I might get a yellow mohair wig to see how it looks on him, but I'm not one to change their looks.

I think that's how it is with my dolls, and probably with every doll I ever get. I am willing to get wigs in the same color in different styles, but I don't see myself getting something darker, or getting different color eyes because it doesn't suit them. I've seen one of my dolls in different looks on the company site, and I find dark hair just doesn't look good. With my other, I don't see myself getting something longer or a color too different from the wig he has now.

Like I said, I've seen one of my dolls in different looks on the company site, and I didn't like how she looked. I said to myself, if she had been advertised with the look that made me want to buy her, I probably wouldn't have.

3 wigs, 3 eyes; one extra set of 16mm, and one spare 7/8 wig. Each extra came with one doll for free.

 

I'm not a good stylist...but maybe in time

 

I'm so lazy; I rarely change anything, unless I'm doing a photo shoot or a costume change for some reason. I do change wigs a little more frequently, but I hate messing with the eye putty. :P I own one main wig for each doll, because I like them that way, and I own one main pair of eyes for each, with one or two miscellaneous pairs that can work for more than one doll. I'll probably end up with more when my non-second-hand dolls come in and have default eyes that I will probably change.

I change outfits a lot and like you I only change the wigs to another style of the same colour. I may take a while to find the right initial look for a doll but tend to stick with eye and hair colour after I've picked them.

Not yet but I have done the opposite, decided to sell a doll and then changed a wig or the eyes and suddenly realised that now I love the doll and ended my sales thread!

I have about twice as many wigs as dolls, 1 spare outfit only at the moment (because I bought more dolls) and maybe about 3 spare pairs of shoes.

I settle on wigs and eyes and stay with them, for the most part. I've had a couple of dolls I've needed to change the eyes because they were too small before, but besides that I like to keep everyone in their own wigs and eyes. I guess that's boring, but I like it.

I do plan on having some extra wigs for a select few characters who call for them, but not right now because I haven't gotten that far.

I have, once before. And it was primarily because I had already fallen out of love with that doll before that and I was trying to give her a makeover to make myself see her differently. It didn't work and I sold that doll. It was not because of the makeover, though.

At this time in my collecting I only have a few more pairs of eyes and wigs more than dolls I actually own. Now, 2 years ago I would have had a lot more, but I learned that I am one of those people who just don't switch out of eyes and wigs often, and I've whittled down my stash. Now I mainly have some eyes I'm too lazy to sell because they're so cheap.

 

1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality? I pretty much tend to settle on one combo for each doll, but some of them I'll change their eyes/wigs once in a while for fun or to match an outfit.

2. Have you changed the look of your doll and fell out of love with him/her? Once I'm happy with a look I really don't change it much, so this hasn't happened to me yet (although changing the look of some of them has caused me to love them even more). But in the case of the few of my dolls that I'm 100% satisfied with right now (really one doll specifically), I do feel like if I changed their eyes/hair my feelings towards them might change (either for better or worse I don't know, but I'm a little too apprehensive to find out ).

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have? Hmm. 9 dolls...and I think about 13 wigs and around 12 pairs of eyes that actually get used (I do have a few more than that, accumulated as I tried to find the best combos for each doll).

 

30+ dolls and more wigs and eyes than I care to count. I love changing their eyes and wigs. It's like a whole new personality is revealed. Lots of fun!

 

Same here, Nancyme12! 60+ and more wigs and eyes I care to count as well. However I don't change eyes and wigs save for one. Sorral gets his wig changed but rarely does eyes get changed. Sorral dyes his hair a lot, so he gets wig changes. But eyes are a pain.

I Most of the time I struggle with some wigs/eyes for some time to find the right ones for that particular doll, but once I found what I like they stay in/on! ^___^

My Cotton has turned around 360 degrees since I had him. At first he was all black and white, but now he's a rainbow colored Fruits boy! XD I never regretted the change.
I was quite scared when I decided to re-do his face-up though because I was afraid he wouldn't look like himself anymore, but all worked out very well in the end! ^___^
Wednesday has become more cute over time, instead of a black dress & wig a pink/black dress and wine curled wig, but it really suits her.
If you don't like a changed look, you can alway change it back, that's the beauty of these dolls.

I have a closet full of wigs/eyes/shoes because I go through a lot of them before finding the right ones for a doll... XD

 

My dolls are based on characters so I tend to find perfect eyes and wigs and keep them. Though Raoul has 2 similar blonde wigs and 3 pairs of green eyes though, I can change them depending on my mood.

I change my dolls clothes hair shoes eyes ALL the time. Every day i wake up and ask Karma what she would like to wear today.

Never I love all of Karma looks.

I own one doll and many many eyes wigs and outfits.

 

To your first question: I change my girl's eyes and wigs not to frequently but every now and then.
Second: I do have a particular set of eyes and a wig that she usually wears but I change them depending on the season sometimes. Since Halloween is coming up, I have my girl with ghost eyes and a silvery grey wig.
Third: I have only one doll but she had two wigs and three sets of eyes and a single steam punk eye.
