Do you change your doll's wigs and eyes?

Dec 10, 2005

    1. I thought I'd answered this but it's not showing as 'posted in' so I guess not. :P

I usually find just the 'right' eyes for a doll and leave them in. People's eyes don't normally change (unless you get funky contacts), so why should my doll's? I also tend to buy pricier eyes for better results, so I don't have a billion pairs lying around to change out.

I do change wigs a lot though. My dolls have too many wigs, honestly.

    2. I change wigs/eyes for my dolls from time to time. If I am satisfied how they are look like I don't want to change anyfing, but If I feel I need smth new of I will change

The clothes changed based on weather or then the new outfits arived :)

    3. 1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality?
See, when I had my dolls I didn't have to much money to buy them lots of wigs or eyes, so generally they stuck with what I was able to get. >.> But when I was able to buy more wigs and eyes and see what I liked best I normally kept with it. I would buy, or look for, different wigs of the same color so the style would change so it wasn't always the same thing. People change their hair, so why not?

      2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her?
      Nope, can't say I have!

      3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
When I had my MSD I had three wigs for her and two sets of eyes. For my tiny it was two sets of wigs and three pairs of eyes.

    4. 1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality?
For Beryl and Onyx, I keep their look the same unless something -really- suits them or it fits the story that they have to change it.

For Pyrite......well, if I don't change his look (wig, clothes etc) every month or so then he suddenly gets all floppy and kicks and won't behave...and then the moment I change his look he'll behave again T_T. I won't even have to restring him or anything...
But his eyes I don't have to change. I've only changed his eyes once, and that was to make them easier to photograph. Brown eyes on a Ducan sculpt can be a bit of a pain lol...

      2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her?
      Not at all

      3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
Three dolls.... seven wigs (Beryl came with two), three pairs of eyes (borrowed one for Pyrrie)... and there are a group of us who share wigs...
But Pyrrie is the only one who changes them often

    5. 1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality?
I get pretty attached to the way my dolls look, so they tend to stick to one look.

      2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her?
No, I'm really happy with the changes I've made. They suit the doll better.

      3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
I have one main wig and one main pair of eyes for each doll, but besides that I have a LOT of spares too. Just in case I need them. :sweat

    6. I like to change my BJD girl's eyes and wigs. It makes her always different! (this is what I like in these
dolls) In the morning she was a twelve-years old girl with fluffy red hear and innocent green eyes, and in
the evening she will be a little vampire princess with long dark hear and deep brown eyes! :D

    7. I change everything! Her blonde wig goes with her blue eyes, her red/orange wig goes with brown eyes, her halloween eyes are purple. You can really think of it as contacts, not changing the dolls actual eye color.

    8. I plan on trying all kinds of eyes/wigs on my doll once I get her. I don't have any set character in mind for her, so I'm free to play around quite a bit with her looks.

    9. I change them all constantly. It's fun and can really change their look without redoing face-ups and stuff

    10. I change my doll's wig often, but not her eyes. I only have a couple of pairs to choose from, and I'm happy with the ones she has in now. I do find myself repositioning them a lot, though.

    11. From time to time, my friends and I trade up wigs, eyes, clothes ect just to see what they look like. It's allot of fun and you get to experiment with the styles your doll can (and cannot) pull off ^^

    12. I hate putting in eyes - I always find it hard to adjust them so the doll doesn´t end up goggle-eyed, and in dolls where the headcap is held on by the strings rather than magnets, I tend to avoid opening the head anyway. Having said that, I do like having the option to try different colors and sizes or to change the direction they glance in and it´s definitely fun to try out different wigs.

But, all in all, once I have found a wig and eyes I like, I tend to stick with them.

    13. Dephens. My first girl had "default" wig and eyes, I cut down the wig myself and now she looks what she's suppose to look. My second girl will have only "default" wig at begining, but I'm gonna look a style just for her when I get her for rest I do not know yet, but I will most propably try to find their style and if the "default" wig and eyes fit it then I just keep them so simple

    14. I dont regularly change eyes, but when all my dolls change wigs between atleast 2 :)

    15. I have bought all my girls second hand so far, and only two of them have a pair of eyes they came with. Also, only one of them has a wig she came with.

Vivica I bought eyes for her before she arrived, stuck those in, put on one of the wigs she came with that was perfect and that was the end of it. Whereas with my second doll, Aubree, I only recently found eyes and a wig that I like for her, and I'm still iffy on the eyes.

Pepper and Sophie came with the perfect eyes for them, but the wigs I have changed. Pepper's still looking for her perfect wig.

And Helene... has undergone several personality changes, so her look keeps changing as well. When she gets back from her face up, she might even change again (although I love her current wig and eyes; we'll see what happens!)

I like what knightjeran said about the eye changing being like contacts though. C:

    16. well I have 10 pairs of eyes and 8 wigs. I am always changing eyes and wigs out to match her outfits.

    17. I don't have any dolls yet, but, I plan on buying mine several wigs and eye sets so I can change their look easily. Yeah, I just wanted to add my two pence xD

    18. Eyes once in a while, but often for the wigs =v=

    19. Wigs of course, but i'm a litte frightened to change the eyes, because it's a character Doll and not a costum made one, so it's little bit complicated ^^

    20. I'm constantly changing wigs! I just love it, I try to buy at least one every time I go to a doll shop and at least two at a doll show. Its fun and easy, I like playing with the hair and picking different styles for different outfits. As for eyes? While it sounds like loads of fun, Im leaving my first doll Dorian's eyes untouched, due to the whole "eyes hold the soul myth." Same for my little doll Icky. My new one, Blair, has the prettiest eyes iv EVER seen in a doll and it seems silly to change them. Igor- I change everything on this doll, but acrylic eyes make him look.... bad. Right now I only own 1 pair of glass eyes and that's what hes sticking with. In the future, if I get more, Id like to regularly change them out
