Do you change your doll's wigs and eyes?

Dec 10, 2005

    1. If you get an eye color that you don't like with your doll, then there's nothing wrong with changing it so it can suit both them and you. That's what I plan on doing. And I'm going to change my wigs almost all the time, but I'm going to have wigs in mostly the same color, just different styles. Hope this helps! :)

    2. I bought an extra pair of eyes for my boy when I first started off and their both glass and I change them every now and then, as well as their wigs I change to match clothing :)

    3. i just recently changed the eyes of my third doll an d they suit her beautifully but as far as hair products on wig hair i'm not sure i am very scared so i never attempted to.

    4. I don't usually use the default eyes but once I've picked their new eyes I never change them. Although my Soah did come with a pair of 'ugly' dark brownish eyes that I ended up putting in my Ryu as permanent eyes and loving them......

    5. I love to change wigs, eyes and clothing = that way it always feels like a NEW doll.

    6. I like to change doll clothes, but as for eyes and wigs - more often my dolls have a kind of a stable look, except the cases when I don't see the doll's look at once and I try some different looks to choose the best)

    7. its difficult for me to change eyes for my doll.I cant see her in another, but I like to change clothes from different styles, while looking the style only for her.

    8. Changing the eyes and wigs is one the things I enjoy doing most with my BJDs. It never ceases to amaze me how different a doll can look based on eye and hair color. I do admit though, after the initial trying on of different wigs, I typically settle on one that fits the doll's personality best.

    9. My girl has her signature look; blonde hair and blue eyes. I have tried experimenting green eyes and brown hair, but it's just not the same. It looks great, but I don't regonize it as Josephine.

    10. I bought a pair eyes to use them as fixed eyes, but I would like to buy a lot of wigs for my doll - I will change them!:D

    11. Once I get a combination that clicks, I tend to stick with it. But I do tend to switch the eyes and the wig a great deal as I try to find that perfect combination.

    12. Constantly. I have five wigs and about ten pairs of eyes, and I'm always switching between them. She's my ever-changing Opal. ^^

As for storage, I always lightly spritz the wigs with water and brush them out before putting them in their original hair nets, then they all go into the little Luts box my girl's head came in. It's the perfect place to keep them. As for eyes, I keep 'em in a small ziplock bag.

    13. I do change my dolls' wigs and eyes around when I first get them till I get a combination that I'm happy with then I tend to stick with that.

    14. Once I get the eyes that really fit the doll's look and personality, I don't change them. But I do love to experiment with different wigs in different colors and styles. But they still have to go with the selected eyes. ;)

    15. I will always change their wigs and eyes to make them look different or just for suit for the clothes. So now I have a lot of wigs and paris of eyes for them already, but still keep buying new one.

    16. Yes, yes I do. I think it's the best thing about BJDs, actually - the fact that with a new pair of eyes or a different wig, my doll can change completely while still being the same doll. I love buying eyes and wigs (but mostly eyes, I love having lots of eyes) for my crew, and trying them out to see who will look good with which combination :D

    17. I do always change my BJD girl's eyes and wigs, 'cause I think it makes her different. I create a new person. She changes, and looks completly different. I can make one doll, whoever I want, and it's a very interesting process.

    18. 1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality?

My dolls reflect me in many ways. I use colored contacs 'n color my hair in all the freaky colors I can find.I even cut my own hair when I'm bored. So for me it's only natural that they can do the same if they want. They have often borrowed wigs from others.

      2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her?

No, I change their look all the time, but it would never make me stop loving them.

      3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?

4 dolls, 9 pair eyes and 4 wigs.

    19. I had in mind what I wanted for her when I got her.
She has black hair and green eyes, but one of the things I like is to change them.

All of her wigs are black though, and in my story, her eyes changes.
Usually she has regular green glass eyes, but sometimes she has green eyes with no pupil.

Recently I found she looks great with black eyes, but I have to come up with a story explanation for that.
Simply put, if you want to change your dolls eye/hair colour; make a twist in the story, everything is possible. Not easy, but possible.

    20. I like to try on different wigs and eyes, but all that time I have their 'real' hair or eye colour in mind. Sometimes it does happen that a certain colour I put on just to try and see how they would look like stays because it just fits better..
