Do you change your doll's wigs and eyes?

Since my dolls are all cosplayers, I change their eyes & hair ALL the time.... Their base personalities do have specific hair & eye colors (which can be changed, to reflect the ability of the characters to color their hair & wear colored contacts....)
So I own 40+ wigs.... & am working on the eye collection...
It's so fun!

 

When mine first came I changed the random eyes he came with to a color I had decided on and ordered beforehand. I have not changed his eyes since then. Probably just because it's more of a bother to change than hair is. I'm sure one day I'll change them to get a different feeling in pictures.

I do change his wig sometimes, but usually only to take pictures or for short periods of time. If I'm just sitting around with him he usually wears the first wig I got him since he feels more like himself in that one. I do have four pairs of eyes and six wigs, although one wig is too big for him. I change his clothing more than anything else.

 

i usually dont change the wig after i get the wig i want for my doll, for example i have a cute plack wigs with pigtails for my BBB doll lila, the only time i will change her wig is if i put on a black wig that is like the first one but withought pigtails. i have changed my dolls eyes to yellow cat like eyes, but i liked the defulut eyes in her instead so i kept her defult eyes in

I looove changing out wigs and eyes! Playing with their looks gives me ideas for photo stories and sometimes things about their personalities I haven't yet thought of.

 

I definitely change my doll eyes around depending on what mood or photo I want to take. So far I have 8 or 9 wigs for my boy, and for my girl, only 5.

 

I pick eyes out when I order my doll assuming that I will hate the default eyes. So far the eyes they have come with are great, but I still like to change them

 

I have a set pair of eyes I really like for their character and don't change them after that. Except for Tobie. I'll change his eyes. I would like to actually get more eyes for him.
I'll change the wigs every once in a while. I plan on buying more wigs for everyone. That way they have more choices in hair styles; although, the base colour of the wigs will probably be the same (example: Marz will probably have blue in her wig, no matter what wig she wears. I tried just plain black, but it didn't seem to suit her as well). Stardust plans on wearing lots of different colours though! That's just her personality.

 

Yeah, the wig is so horrible that I have to change it. It looks like a dead animal.

 

Yes, certainly! My doll has grey years and I have a lot or them. Dark grey and light grey, glass and acril, with shadows and with stars.
Also I has some wigs (blond and light grey) and I change them depends on the clothes type.

 

Once my doll has their eyes, those don't change. The eyes are ordered at the same time as the doll, so are usually ready and waiting when the doll arrives. They are kinda part of the soul and character to me. I couldn't change them.
Wigs. One of my dolls is about to get her third, as the older ones succumb to wear and tear, I replace them and hers have been through a stress test of sorts over the years. This is the only time I change wigs. These are both assets that define them more than their clothes. Their clothes are therefore more mutable than other features.

 

I only change my dolls' wigs and eyes when I'm still looking for their 'style'. When I find the right wig and eyes, I don't change them ever again.

But sometimes I still change their wigs for a change. So I will not get bored as well~ XD

 

Thus far I have not changed my doll's eye color because in a strange way it feels like they were 'born' with these eyes and I feel bad changing them. Their eyes have so much personality to me, I don't think I could change them. As for wigs that seems okay since I change my hair style and color constantly I feel my dolls should have the same chance, though thus far they have not had a wig change, I do cut their hair and add extensions for a new look occasionally.

 

1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about your dolls personality?
Once I find each one's "right look" it stays. However, most of my kids also have alter egos/animal forms, and those have different colors, so pretty much everyone has more than one default look. The ones who have cosplay outfits have separate wigs and eyes for that too, just as a person would have a wig and/or contact lenses.

2. Have you changed the look of your doll and fell out of love with him/her?
If that happens I change him/her right back!

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
I have a lot more wigs and eyes than I have dolls.I have wigs I've been given free when I bought something else, some that are worn out and not used anymore, some that have been picked out for dolls who aren't here yet. Also, usually when I'm choosing new eyes for someone I buy two similar colors in case one doesn't work, so I have a lot of not-presently-used eyes.

I don't tend to have multiple eyes for each doll because once I've found 'their' perfect eyes, that's what they stay with. I have multiple wigs for the same dolls though. Deryn, for example, has three wigs (all of them are ginger), in different styles so I can change her look without changing her character. She's always going to be a red-head

No, but I don't often change dolls' looks. I usually have quite a defined idea about what I'm going to do with a doll before they arrive, so it's just a matter of finding the right shade of eyes or style of wig. If I did dislike a doll after I made changes to their appearance, I'd happily switch back to whatever was working before!

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
I have way more wigs and eyes than I actually have dolls. A lot of them were freebies or LE wigs that I bought because I liked them and I didn't want them to slip by me. I have a whole box of wigs!

I usually settle on one combination... sometimes it takes a while to find out what it is, though. One of my dolls went through about 6 different eye color/style changes before I found the perfect pair.

Well, yeah... But I changed it into a completely different character from the one that originally inhabited the body.

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
I have a crap-ton of 10mm eyes, one extra set of 20mm, and one extra set of 16mm. As for wigs, I have a bunch laying around that no one is using right now... again because of a search for the "perfect" wig for a certain someone... ​

 

I usually change the eyes the doll comes with to something I like, unless the doll happens to come with ones I like which happened with my Miryu. After I have the perfect eyes for them I usually don't change them again. For wigs I don't usually keep the one which comes with it as it's usually not my style, I tend to have a couple of wigs for each doll which I swap between, usually in a similar colour but different style but can be different.

 

I only change my boy's eyes, but not very often.
I have 3 pairs of 16mm eyes to choose from, but I find changing them out a bit troublesome.

 

My pukifee had one pair of eyes and one wig, but it became boring to take photos of her, so now she has lots of wigs and eyes and I usually change them
