Do you change your doll's wigs and eyes?

1. Do you change his/her wigs/eyes frequently or do you settle on one combination after you've found out about you're dolls personality?
I just change them if I found one that I really like. I have tried many wigs until that and if I get bored, I look for a change too. The eyes is something different, they have suffered just one change because I got tired of the color, green is not made for me.

2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her?
I changed one makeup, just one. The previous was "destroyed" and it didn't suit very much the doll. I prefer the one she's wearing now, cleaner and more discreet.

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have?
Um, I think the proportion is 2 wigs per doll, but I just use one for each head. I have to sell the ones I don't use, but I forget to do it.Respect the eyes, I have just one pair per doll and that's enough.

At the moment i'm settled with the eyes/wigs from my dolls, but who knows when I walk into something I like better? So who knows.

Hehe, I gave one of my guys another wig, but it just wasn't him anymore, so i quickly changed back to his old wig.

1 wig for each and one pair of eyes each..

I change my boy's wig frequently. I have yet to find one that suits him.

Haha, once. I got him this wig and got really upset that it didn't looked nice one him, so I stopped photographing him for a while till I got a new wig. It wasn't much like falling out of love, just unhappy with the new look.

I have only 1 doll, but 5 wigs and 3 pairs of eyes. Yes, I spent a lot... :P

 

I am new to BJD's. I only have two dolls, but by changing the wigs and eyes periodically, I feel like I get a brand new doll.

I'm always on the lookout for eyes or wigs that will suit my dolls' characters better. Once I settle on the perfect eye/wig combination, that's what it stays as - I am currently updating eyes on my kids to better quality eyes at the moment. However, I do have a character that has the tendency to color his hair often, so I'm contemplating getting him a bunch of wigs that represent the various colors he likes to dye his hair.

But that's so wonderful with these dolls! If you change the look and you don't like it, you can so easily change them back. Or change them to something else entirely. Has this ever happened to me? Of course, it happens. Sometimes they just don't look right, so you keep playing with stuff, switching eyes and wigs until something just clicks.

I certainly have more eyes and wigs than dolls. More eyes and wigs than even dolls plus roaming heads. My wig and eye collection is not very good, however. Pretty much the wigs and eyes I really like are already being used by one of my dolls. The various extras I have I have patially as extras for new dolls fo they have somthing while waiting for their ordered stuff to come in. For instance, my Beyla arrived earlier than expected, her ordered wig hadn't come in yet, and her eyes hadn't been ordered at all. For the time being, she's borrowing an old wig of one of my other dolls and a random pair of eyes that fit. Although my collection of extras aren't so good that I often don't have anything of the appropriate size for incoming dolls. Most of my extras are good for SDs.

Honestly, I need to sell some of it - I kind of hate a lot of it.

2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her? Nope~But if I don't like a look it can easily be changed~


3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have? For eyes its around 2 pairs per doll and for wigs its around one or two. Most of my wigs are just the default ones that come with them, I hope to get more in the future. I use to have a lot but I sold most of them in order to save for doll funds and I didn't have my dollfie dream girl any more~

So far I've stopped once I find a combination I like, but for my guys this can be a matter of months before they've settled

Nope. All my guys are looking good.

(not counting dahl) 5 dolls, 5 wigs, 6 pairs of eyes (more extras to come soon, replacing defaults)

Depends on the doll. The three dolls I want are sisters (I have 1 of them, another is on the way) and they all have naturally brown hair. The youngest and oldest leave it like that so I'd probably only buy them new wigs in a different style but not color. The middle one on the other hand, it's in her personality that she loves dying her hair so I'd change the wig as often as I could. I'm much less picky with the eyes. People change their eye color all the time (using contacts), so I have no problem with jumping from an unnatural color, to a dark blue or something, then to a light purple.

Never! Any changes I make improve the look of my doll and always still go with their personality. If it doesn't look right, I'd just put back whatever was there before and sell the new eyes/wig

I currently have 2 dolls. Wigs: 3 (1 doll has one, the other has 2) Eyes: 4 pair (1 doll has one pair, the other has 3). It's not spread very even yet xD

When I first got my doll, I changed her wig and eyes all the time all the time. Now, I don't plan to change it much. She has two wigs, depending on her mood. A pale blonde one and a deep purple one. And one pair of eyes. That's it.

'Fell out of love' is a strong term, but I have put different wigs on her and not liked much. Like when I first got her. I have a picture of her in an awful wig, and it made me not like her. Now that she has her 'default' wigs, I love her to bits.

Umm...2 heads, 4 wigs, and 3 pairs of eyes.

Each of my dolls is the shell for an original character of mine. In my mind I have an image of what those characters look like including hair and eye color. So after I find the right pair of eyes and the right wig I stick with them. Sometimes that takes me a while to find just the right wig. For example my DZ Yuu was around for over a year before I found just the right wig and eyes. But I typically try to have wig and eyes on hand before a doll arrives.

Nope, I rarely change the wig or eyes, but when I do it is to make the doll more resemble my character which just makes me love them more.

I have one pair per doll. I have some extras around, but they are all on the market place waiting to be sold because they didn't work for the doll they were purchased for.

Not really. It depends on the doll. My first boy, Yuki, has had the same wig for almost three years now. My second guy, Chase, went thru a series of wig changes, just because I never found the perfect one for him. The one he has now is as good as I can get it. Tho I do keep looking for one that is closer to how I picture him to look. Some of my kids have temp wigs until I find a good one to stay on them but others keep the wig I get for them in the beginning.

Hm..no. I think I've preferred certain wigs/eyes, etc on a doll. What normally happens to me, especially if I'm doubting keeping the character, is I will change the doll's look to see if I fall back in love with the doll. It works for some ppl. I've had one experience with that, and it just didn't work.

Erm..23 dolls, I think. And not nearly as many wigs and eyes. I think the eye collection, if you count meand my sis's eyes (cuz we share) is prolly 20 pairs..but keep in mind she has like 20 of her own dolls. And wigs..probably like 15 wigs. I really need to go thru them and sell the ones I want. But I always think to myself "what if I need that for a diff doll?"

I have two dolls one is a limited edition Elfdoll. She did not come with a wig but did with eyes. I would never change the eyes as they are made to suit perfectly, but do change the wig.
The other is a Luts I change the wig and eyes all the time.

I find some things suit better than others, but have never fallen out of love with them.

I've been changing some of the time, but my doll is a specific character with a specific look so I tend to use his character-specific wig and eyes most often.

I haven't had him long enough for this, really. I'd just go back to the old style if I didn't like the new one.

I only have one doll, with a couple of extra wigs and sets of eyes, although this number is likely to grow in the future.

 

1. Some dolls have their own wig/eyes, and some get changed out. Like I have a Lati yellow sized boy and a Puki sized boy, but I am getting them girl wigs/eyes so that I can get the pretty dresses and such. They were both girl sculpts anyway that I made into boys.

2. I changed the look of one doll in the midst of reselling her (for pics) and fell back in love with her. But she sold and I had to buy that mold again.

3. 8 dolls and 8,000 eyes and wigs. Eyes just seem to collect to find just the right size or color, or else they weren't what you were expecting from the photo. Wigs sometimes you just like the look of them and want to have them.

Unlike most Dollfie people I don't like to change the eyes, so when I buy a dollfie I ask for the eyes I want. Sometimes when I have bought a dollfie second hand , mostly all of the second hand ones being from the same collector,I wanted the eyes in the photo, and asked for those specific eyes. and wig sometimes , if I really like a wig and am skeptical that I can find a wig I like as much on my own.I buy dollfies that I think look like my heart-throbs, so I have to match their hair with the person's look.

not in that order,I once switched my doll's wig and made him into a different heart-throb than he was thought to look like in the beginning,lol.My daughter thinks this was weird of me.

I have a few extra eye sets, for my minifees, and an extra set of eyes for one of my larger dollfies that the seller just included with the doll. I have about 7 wigs for my dollzone Ying and Volks White Cat Chris together, but one of Chris's wigs probably would not fit my Dollzone "Lou" is his name, wouldn't fit his persona anyway.Angell Studio Cain has several wigs, like 5,My Aod dollfie always wears the same one, wish I had more of his because it's great, andmy Unoa Steve/Chris has 5 wigs, three came with him, and 2 I bought separately for him.

i don't have a lot of choices of eyes/wigs to choose from but i do like to play around and change what i can just to get a feel for what they look like in different stuff, it's pretty fun. When i find something that sincerely fits them I'll usually keep it.

No that's never happened, I adore his face and i think any combination looks complimentary. Or if I don't like it I'll just change it back.

I have around one complete doll and 3 different heads, i have three wigs and 4 pars of eyes.

I've settled on my boy's look, but I do sometimes change his wig from his usual brown long yarn one to a black fur one. I haven't been photographing him this way lately; it's simply easier to deal with the shorter wig if we're just lazing around the house. My girl, Caoimhe, has 3 or 4 wigs all in white, so she can have different hairstyles. My other girl, Kyoko, has a couple very different wigs and can drastically change her look.

2. Have you changed the look of you're doll and fell out of love with him/her? No, any change I make can be reversed if I don't like it. Kaesu does have a couple really unflattering wigs, though. I'd be quite upset if the scraggly grey one were somehow permanently attached to his head.

3. How many dolls do you own compared to the amount of wigs and eyes you have? Maybe 5 wigs and 1 set of eyes for the mini boy, and 7 wigs with one pair of eyes between the 2 Puki girls, including costume wigs (no eyes for the Ani face). Oh, and 1 wig/ 1 set of eyes for my incoming Puki.

My girl likes to play dress-up, and her father is an actor, so it's perfectly within her personality to change wigs often. I haven't changed her eyes yet, though.

Nope. I've had her less than a month, but I don't anticipate falling out of love with her on any account.

One doll, eight wigs, two sets of eyes.

 

I LOVE to change wigs!! I was recently looking through my dolls
items and was surprised at how many wigs I had acquired. But
I HATE changing out eyes...my goal is to always find the perfect
pair for each of my dolls so I hopefully never have to switch them
...of course that doesn't always work out...sometimes eyes like to
move by themselves

Once I have the right 'look' for my doll, I tend to leave it like that. If I have an idea for a different look, I tend to buy another doll.( Bad I know!)But I think it's because for example I have a great outfit I have just bought,( and want to adapt some more) but it wouldn't be right for any of the dolls I own at the moment, so I'm getting another doll.

I did this once with Ipsie( my DIM Belita). I gave her a really soft face up, and just hated it as to me she looked all forlorn and wishy washy. I now have the perfect look for her and don't think I'll be changing it. Strong and edgy.

Well, eyes are like little jewels to me and I love them, and I have to admit I have a lot of wigs too....So yes, I have far more than I need.
