1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you collect PHOTO's of BJD's?

May 25, 2008

    1. I have an hard drive with approx 20GB of BJD pictures for inspiration and props. ^^ I also have an folder with face up inspiration and different tutorials. You never know when you might need it ^^

    2. I often do save photos of dolls, especially if I really like the look of a certain doll. Usually I do it if I see something about the doll I want to replicate or take inspiration from - a certain style of hair, or more commonly faceup details that I really like.

I have a Deviantart account and have literally hundreds of photos of dolls saved there! I really like looking through them as I can see at what point I was interested in buying certain sculpts or creating certain looks... it's a walk through my dolly history! :D

    3. I do collect photos of beautiful bjds! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.

In fact, when I'm saving up for a new doll, I use the company photos as my laptop background to keep me determined toward my goal.

    4. I do!

I always save any photo I like and I have a folder named "BJD" for photos of other people's dolls. They serve me as inspiration with photography and such. I would never share any photo that it's not mine without the owner's consent though, that's why I only use them as inspiration or admiration :)

    5. Yes! I save favorite pictures in my Pinterest! Hurray for BJD Pinterest! :D

    6. I think we all collect photos. Its inspirational. I would love a calendar or a book with awesome pictures.

    7. yes, I have tons of pics of other people's BJDs saved on my computer ^^

    8. Can't believe it took me this long to find this thread. I regularly visit doll photo sites and save my favourite photos to my computer, which I then cycle for my screen saver. At present, I have ~10,400 doll pictures. As an aside and I know people have rights over their own pictures, but I still get annoyed by people on Flickr who disable the download photo feature. They usually have the better doll photos too.

    9. I do!! Mainly for inspiration on outfits and props and to keep me company while im waiting for my boy to come home. I Also create wallpapers with the better ones but i usually ask for permission before i do this.

    10. I do especially when I need inspiration for a certain character's faceup or if I just flat out like the doll.

    11. As I am still in the doll selection / saving-up phase, pictures are all I have been able to collect for now! Tumblr reblogs + Flickr favorites have been the way to go rather than saving them to my computer. Seeing what other people are doing with their dolls (particularly in the way of clothing) is helping me to figure out what I would want.

    12. Of couuuurse who doesn't?? (For real I thought everyone did)

    13. I have a Dollfie picture folder too. I save pics of unusual sculpts I'll probably never get to buy, like DZ Anson. Faceup pics,dresses,accessories,wigs..I'll save a pic of anything BJD related.

    14. I was actually thinking about starting one (If I could find my flashdrive ;A; ). I want to save faceup ideas for when I start experimenting with doing facups on my doll, or maybe even clothing or hair ideas, whether it be bjd's or not. Despite being a fan of bjds for 5-6 years, I'm still very much a noob when it comes to it, since I just got my first doll. I do ocassionally browse the bjd tag on tumblr and like pictures for later. Probably would be a good idea to save them, since a lot of times, they may dissappear and you may never see it again.

    15. Oddly enough I don't because I'm picky about what the dolls should look like and the majority of it is just patterns to make her clothes but that's it

    16. I collect photos of my dolls only, and when I collect other doll's photo, it is only when I took the photograph. I sometimes search on photos to see many great ideas, but I don't usually keep them as file.

    17. I started collecting dolly photos! I dunno how that happened, but I have a folder on my external inside an art folder with a nice size collection of pretty dolls, doll clothes, face ups and mods. <3

    18. I used to, but now I have so many of my own I just stick to my own dolls photos  I really love the idea of someone saving one of my doll pictures in their folder though. Wow, that would be cool.

    19. I do always stalk tangled web and Robin's Egg Gallery XD their dolls and photography inspired me :sumomo:

    20. Yup, I'm guilty of it too; BJDs are just a sub-folder of a huge doll-devoted folder on my external hard drive. For me the pictures are inspiration for my own girls as well as a virtual wishlist of dolls I'd like to someday have and dolls that are permanent pipe dream dolls.
