1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you collect PHOTO's of BJD's?

May 25, 2008

    1. I used to have a folder thousands deep until I realized I had a problem and deleted the whole thing. I've regretted it since hahaha

    2. Yep. Got a whole crazy way of organizing them too.
I tell myself its research....right lol!

    3. Oh yes,and i love to do it ^^
I have a big folder on my PC with all my favorite dolls pictures and face-up !

    4. Oh yeah, I've got about 16 folders on my computer of specific owners' dolls that I love, and then separate folders for boys, girls and groups. I have several thousand. :D

    5. Yes I do~ Though not many I do tend to save photos that really captures my interest~^^

    6. Definitely. I save photos of not just dolls, but anything I find interesting or beautiful.

In fact, I'd say I get just as much enjoyment out of looking at pictures of dolls as playing with them. Different types of enjoyment, but all equally fulfilling.

    7. I don't collect pictures of others' dolls, but I do have hundreds saved of my own dolls, if that counts.

    8. When I'm on DeviantArt/Flickr I favorite photos, but I don't save them. I've found that I very very rarely go back to look at anything I save to my computer. It just creates clutter and collects dust haha.

    9. Yes. I'm just about the same way: whenever I see a beautiful face-up/doll/unique pose I just have to save it! :)

    10. I do.
I sometimes save pictures of specific dolls but it's usually because I want to get an idea of what you can do with the sculpt, or I like something done with the face-up.

    11. I'm the same way :) I go back and look through my favorites a lot. And then I go and look through the favorites of other members to find more doll photographers I like! It's a horrible addiction, really.

    12. Oh heavens yes, especially photos of BJD costumes for inspiration, or face-ups I really like.

    13. Only if the photos are the dolls that I want to have (usually these are companies' photos), or the owner's photos that are very artistic in my eyes. It's nice to look at those photos once in a while when I'm bored or something.

    14. I only collected company photos when I first started the hobby. I had a huge wish list and was trying to narrow it down to a few. It was much easier than having a million tabs open all the time for different doll companies to look at different sculpts and bodies.

But I don't collect owner pictures at all - they are too custom. I really only like the blank head photos because owner concepts and even company photos at times can be distracting.

The pictures I have are my own….and now that I have my little collection, I don't collect company photo's anymore either.

    15. Yes I do indeed. Most of the time it's when I'm doing research on a particular sculpt, or just something that I like. I'll try to include the owner's name, sculpt and color. Or....if the owner has a whole army of dolls, I'll just make a folder for them.

For a while I was visiting all the doll sites and collection anything that is Alice in Wonderland related, be it sculpts or clothes.
I've kinda grown out of that but if a company comes out with a whole series, I'll still save them.

    16. I do, but usually only when it's a sculpt I'm planning on buying, so I can see what other people have done with the faceups and fashion and everything, and also to show my mother and say "look at all this cuteness!"

    17. I used to, but now I prefer to just favorite the photo on flickr. I'd rather store that kind of thing on the internet. Of course I run the risk of someone taking their beautiful photo down, but for the most part I haven't really noticed that much...

    18. I just started into this, but I already seem to have a number of beautiful bjd pictures saved. I have little doubt it will grow a lot.
It also makes me remember that I collect all kinds of pictures and should probably organize them because my docs are a total mess. x3

    19. haha I do the same! I knew I wasn't the only one!
Seeing beautiful photos always inspire me to take my own photos (and to try to get better at photography).

    20. I have a folder full of pictures of dolls I love and also keep them for reference.
